Aphrodie lay on her back. She was wondering if Geisteth was starting to get proddy, having a vague...tension in the back of her mind.
The copper was old enough to fly and no doubt would soon enough. "You flirt," she told her dragon, who lay nearby.
It's not me
"You mean you weren't making eyes at Bonjouth earlier?"
Maybe a little. But it's not me.
The copper was being quite insistent. Aphrodie rolled over onto her stomach. "You are..."
It's not me, it's *her*
Aphrodie sat up. Shimi was perched on Geisteth's flank. She peered at the firelizard.
Wrong guess again
"Oh. Shards." She sighted along her dragon and there was a very bright blue-aqua blob on it. That shrieked and launched skywards.
"Great. Now I'm going to have to work out what to do with firelizard eggs."
Ocean, for her part, only knew instinct. Suddenly, she most certainly did not want to be anywhere near Shimi or Geisteth. They were females! No females were to approach, and she shrieked again, a shriek that became a cry of quite a different nature.
No, it was not the company of females she sought, not at all. Where were the males? Where were *her males*. Forget Diamond, forget Dawn, forget Malaracyth, even.
Right now, Ocean was the queen of Allride Weyr and she cried out again, with longing and with challenge before taking off like an aqua arrow.
OOC: Yes, we haven't had a flit hatching in ages, so...Ocean got nominated! All males welcome, including NPCs.

The Pink Flit saw the Aqua rise, and soon he was after her. His pink coloring was so light it was almost white. He was a wild flit, by the name of Screech, because he was a whiner. He was always screeching and hollering for something or another. He wanted more food, he wanted to play, he wanted to swim, he wanted to go fly around the white dragon, and so the other wilds called him Screech because there was already a burgundy called whiner.
Screech knew what he wanted this time, and it was to win the Aqua's flight. So, he screeched out his answer to the Aqua's challenge, and he flew after her, all the time making slight screeching noices, which were bound to get annoying... but maybe if he annoyed the Aqua enough, she would come to him and he could catch her, or so he thought.

With a cheerful little warble a blue firelizard burst in from between. It would be fair for any outside observer to say that Kismet didn’t really have much of a chance to catch the aqua, but Kismet had never let little things like size, rank, or even absolute hatred for him on the part of a female discourage him in the slightest in the past. No indeed, to Kismet anything female with wings was the most wonderful creature on Pern, at least until his attention wandered again. Besides Ocean had to like him, he’d brought her a pretty!
The blue rolled in midair to show off his prize, a large, sweet smelling, floppy pink flower clutched by its stem between his front paws. The bloom was an unwieldy sort of thing to fly with due to its size, in fact as Kismet rolled it flopped over his eyes and back down, but females liked brightly coloured flowers, he was certain!
Steadfast arrived silently, rising from some concealed perch or another as the Aqua took wing and following her up. The brown had been hanging around near Ocean for a day or so, watching as her glow grew brighter, though he never got close enough to annoy her, or so he hoped. Well he hadn’t been scolded anyway.
The brown fell in behind the object of his desire, willing to follow her anywhere she liked. He judged himself to be in with a good chance, the wild pink was an irritaning little creature, he surely wouldn’t sire good hatchlings, and as for Kismet… well the less thought the better on the score of that silly blue Steadfast felt.

There is sitting on top of the white dragon was a large red sleeping lump. The blood flit Jasper as he heard the call of the Aqua flit opened his eyes, and stood up as he shook off his sleep and quickly took off into the air and bettewen. He knew as he went to chase Ocean that he would be prefect for the female flit, he was basiclly a male Aqua, plus he was the third largest flit in Bamre's fair. That had to count for somthing. He soon appered near where the female flit was and crooned to her softly, as he looked at his competion.
The flit thought that the others where no good for her, he could esaily beat them all and he was soon following close behind the female that he wanted so much. He knew that he was better than the others, and he was going to prove it. No matter what happened, in the end he would cacth his queen. Becuase to him, that was what she was. A queen.

No bronzes? Not one SINGLE bronze for her, the special queen, the unique queen?
A pink, a blue and a blood. The blood might serve. The pink would be tolerable. The blue? Ocean did not completely dismiss him, but what kind of clutch would a mere blue sire?
If he was worthy of her, he would keep up, and higher, and higher Ocean spiraled, rising far above the Weyr. The firelizards would not even be dots to those on the ground, being far smaller than any dragon.
The winds buffeted her, caught her wings, but she was nowhere close to tired. Only exhaustion would end this flight, and the embrace of her chosen male.
Which one would it be? She did not tease, she did not banter. For right now, she knew she had to prove she was nothing less than a queen...so she simply flew, as fast and far as she could. As high as she could, so they could barely see the weyr beneath.
She might not be a gold, but she was a queen, and determined to swiftly prove it.
