I'm a leaf on the wind

It was early in the morning when the girl first stirred. She twitched on her bunk, and sank her head deeper into the pillow. She didn't want to get up today, especially when there was a lesson later in the day. She knew she would have to do chores before the lesson, because after the lessons she was always tired. After the lessons all she wanted to do was hang out near the Weyrbowl with her dragon, her feet dangling in the water, with her dragon romping in the waves. The only place where she felt that she was one with Haith was in the Weyrbowl, where there were many people, but not many stopped to talk to her. She and Haith were a common occurance.

Everybody knew that Haith had chosen Zenniel just becuase the girl had been scared not to be chosen. Haith had even said that once, but Zenniel didn't care now what Haith had said, because Haith was hers and she was Haith's. Which was why she was thinking of doing something else today, just so that she could change things up. Going to the Weyrbowl each day was fun, but sometimes one needed a little spice in his or her life, even if one was a shy as Zen was.

Haith stirred sleepily. It was a known fact that whenever Zenniel so much as moaned in her sleep, Haith was there. The little dragonling was ever so motherly to the girl, and although Zen liked having Haith, sometimes having a second mother got annoying. Hello, little one. Haith was now taller than Zen, which shouldn't mean anything, since Haith was a gold, and golds grew to be rather large.

"We're going to go someplace new today." Zen mumbled. The girl heard Haith rumble out a laugh, and Haith's eyes were whirling in greens, both light and dark. Now where will that be? Zenniel sat up and scratched her head, "I don't know. You have an idea?"

Haith stretched, flaring her wings, almost knocking Zenniel in the head. I have the perfect idea. Nearly twenty minutes later, Zen had clambored onto Haith's back with a blindfold over her eyes. "Where are we?" In the Weyrwoman's quarters "Why'd you bring me here?"
