"Faranth!" Aphrodie exclaimed as her firelizards started to hum. Ocean even vanished between, flickering images of the hatching grounds. Shimi stayed with her, and had to be forcibly evicted from her shoulder so that she could get her robe on. What would it be? Blue, green, some weird mutation, nothing?
She set off for the Sands at a controlled pace, she didn't want to stumble on the way and embarrass herself. It was funny how she had gone from not caring about Impressing to really, really wanting to. There were only fourteen eggs. She told herself that, reminded herself. She might not Impress. She had other chances. She wasn't going to be the Candidate who broke down crying after the last egg shelled.
Then she was out there. She curtseyed, rather than bowing, to the queen and positioned herself near the cracking eggs.
--
Marakar stepped out onto the Sands at about the same time as the girl with the green did. He'd left Flirt asleep on his cot. If she woke up, she could find him. He bowed to the gold, then moved into a good position.
Bronze first, he thought Bronze first. Come on. You can do it. There weren't many eggs, but the black might clutch too.
It did not matter. His fate was in the talons of the dragonets. He found himself oddly calm, quite relaxed. What happened would happen.

(Not super detailed, I do not have time to make super deatailed so add details to make your dragon more like you want it...
A little blue was the first to come out of his egg, the Deep sea egg. He seemed surprised at first, ans then he tried looking for his shattered egg, but upon finding only shards of the shell he decided he would need to find someone to protect him from this new and scary world. He hightailed it for his Andol and said, My Andol, save your Hexeth from this scary world!
Egg: Egg 3: Deep sea egg (Looks to hold blue) Rider: Andol Dragon Name: Hexeth Came from: Hexe is German for Witch Color: Blue (sort of Teal coloring to his blue) small for color Personality: Hexeth is very shy and would much rather stay with his Andol who can protect him from the evil world than be anywhere else. Color Code: Teal

Zaren clumsily threw his robe on, again. He knew that he probably wouldn't impress again so he took his sweet time getting down there. It never hurt to take your time. By the time he was there, the first egg had already hatched its blue occupant.

Andol was just sitting in his bed clucthing Leaf and thinking when he heard the voice in his head. He immedantly felt really nervous. He knew that alot a people would be there and they would all be staring at the candidate's and the eggs as they hacthed. He neverously put on his robe and then scooped up Leaf of his bed. He was taking her with him. That was the only way he knew he would be able to go. Leaf just rubbed her head angist his chest reasurringly. Andol then slowly walked to the sands. He bowed to the queen and stood there though abit behind the other candidates while he stood there with his eye's close's hoping that all of these people would go away while he waited to see if he would impress.
It was not long after that Andol heard a mindvoice in his head. He opened his eyes and was staring into those of a blue who was looking at him fearful and seemed like it needed him to protect it. A tear came to Andol's eye. Though he felt a strength in himself he had not felt before. He wraped his arms around the blue's neck and said to it softly " Don't worry my love. I will protect you. I will always be right beside you." As Andol he realized that the blue had broth him out of his shell, not by ecrouging him, but by needing him. Hexeth then said to Andol Thank you Mine. I feel much safer with you. Though Andol then began to wonder was this feeling only tempearoy and would the blue's shyness make him retreat back into his own shell. Just instead of hiding being Leaf all the time. Him and Hexeth would be hiding behing each other. Leaf chirped her own little greet at Hexeth. Though suprisingly she did not startled him.

Shay vanished between to send Keshia images of Malaracyth’s clutch as soon as the announcement of hatching arrived. Keshia was pretty sure nothing was going to happen right away so she took a little time to make sure her face was clean and her hair brushed. There would be a great deal of people present today and even though they would more likely have their eyes on the dragonets than her Keshia felt better for doing such things.
Her shyness didn’t stop her from sprinting to the hatching grounds determined not to miss a moment of events now that she was ready. However once she made her bow to the gold and found herself somewhere to stand Keshia kept her eyes on the sand below her feet, nearly missing the first dragon hatching. It was a blue, and he knew just who he wanted.
Uureian lay back on his bunk stroking Steadfast, the young brown was curled up on Uureian’s chest snoozing lightly. Uureian smiled gently, his firelizard was acting like a feline, he was even purring for some reason, a surprisingly strong sound for such a small creature. Just as Uureian began to wonder why a firelizard would purr, or how for that matter, Malaracyth trumpeted and a golden voice called him to the hatching.
Uureian shot upright, spilling Steadfast onto the bunk, to which the brown protested vigourosly. ‘I’m sorry Steadfast, it’s the hatching but you now that already don’t you, you clever little flitter? That’s why you’re humming.’ Steadfast chattered irritably to get his pet back on the right track, breaking his humming and Uureian’s line of thought. Chastened by his little friend Uureian pulled on his white robe, pulled it off again, and pulled it on the right way around, and shuffled his feet into the sandals he was supposed to wear and dashed out of the door leaving Steadfast to follow on his own.
By the time Uureian arrived at the sands the first dragonet had already hatched, and Impressed. Uureian wanted to cheer and dance because the blue had Impressed to his friend Andol but that would not be wise so he settled instead for bowing hurriedly to Malaracyth and scuttling quickly to his place in the crowd of candidates. As he watched the eggs avidly Uureian wondered if he would Impress, and if he did what colour it would be. In his soul Uureian hoped for a dragon just like Purth, sadly Purth and others like him were not common, in fact they were the stuff of legends, maybe a blue then, or a green or perhaps a brown, maybe even a bronze if one came for him… any dragon would be wonderful as long as it was his he was sure.

Amerna gasped as the Gold's bugle rang out, announcing the Hatching. Was it really happening so soon? Quickly, she changed into her white robes. On her way to the Hatching Grounds, she was stopped by her mother, Katrish.
"Remember, hold yourself with dignity, and if you see a dragon crashing your way, move!" The green rider advised her daughter, smiling wryly. She gave Amerna a kiss on the cheek and let her go. Amerna ran to the sands, arriving just as a little blue hatched and Impressed.
She bowed to Malacryth, the rebel Queen, and took her place with the other candidates. She wondered if there would be a gold in this clutch.

The next egg to hatch was the light blue velvet egg. It hatched very carefully, making an opening just wide enough to get through. What people saw out of this supposedly green egg was another one of those small blues, the sapphires. Then, it gently picked up it shell and started walking toward the candidates, looking around very carefully. Then she stared straight at Nocia and went gently toward her. She never one looked toward the boys. It seemed like she was almost trying to avoid them at all possible costs. She then said to Nocia Mine, I have chosen you
Egg: Egg 11: light blue velvet egg (looks to hold green) rider: Nocia Dragon Name: Hekseth Came from: Heks is Dutch for Witch Color: medium Sapphire (light blue) Personality: She is kind of shy around the males, following her riders feelings about others. She is very thorough in everything she does and she will never leave anything unfinished. Color Code: 6699FF

The next to hatch was the Omelet egg and it spilled out its contents after much shaking to show a pretty copper with a very delicate looking body who stepped very prettily toward the candidates, making many of the girls oo and aw over this pretty little copper. The lucky person was Aphrodie. The went toward hers and said, Mine, do feed your Geisteth please.
Egg: Egg 12: Omelet egg (looks to hold blue) rider: Dragon Name:Geisteth Came from: Geist is German for Ghost Color: pleasant light brown, small and slightly dainty for color (considered very pretty for a dragon) Personality: Geisteth is very polite though she can be pushy and likes to be in the public eye. She is often pushing hers to be more outgoing. She wants what is best for hers and will do anything that is possible for her to do for hers. Color Code: 996600

Aphrodie could not help but shuffle. The sands were hot and the hatching seemed to be lasting, alternately, bare minutes and a good proportion of forever.
A lovely blue first..and straight for Andol. Half the Weyr had predicted that he would Impress blue, and they were right. Then a second blue, a much lighter one, making his way to Nocia. Or was it a sapphire? For that matter, either of them could be...a sapphire might pick a gay or bisexual guy, she supposed. If one was, it was more likely the second, the smaller one.
Then another smallish egg, and out came a small, light colored...no, that wasn't a brown. It had to be a copper. No male dragon could be that...feminine. Delicate, elegant...it was the most beautiful dragon ever hatched. Or at least one of. She'd seen greens that dainty, and she could not imagine that this lovely was a small brown.
She could not, in fact, take her eyes off of the hatchling. Was it, could it be, coming her way? It was, wings held high, and she let out a breath she had not realized she had been holding.
Mine, do feed your Geisteth, please.
A copper, alright, there was no mistaking the voice, feminine, and oddly similar to Aphrodie's own, and as those tones flowed into her mind, they were accompanied by a raging hunger and, for a moment, a disorienting sensation that she was looking at herself through faceted eyes. And a flow of what she could only call love. She knew now why no rider could talk about it. There were no words. It didn't even occur to her that she had the dragon of her dreams...because any dragon would be. She knew that now.
"The food's over here, Geisteth," she said, softly, there was no shouting of the name from this new rider...it was not in her nature.
--
Marakar watched. Blue, blue, brown...or were any of them the female variants. That brown had to be...if a male looked that feminine, it would have to be gay. The blue chose Andol, the second blue...or sapphire...and the copper both selected girls he had seen around the barracks, but had little real contact with.
Where was his? Maybe not in this clutch, he knew. They were so awkward and cute and...well. They -were- babies.

Well, if a bronze hatching first was the best of luck then from what Keshia could see this was not the most lucky clutch. The first blue was followed by a second lighter blue and a brown that just had to be one of the female sort, coppers they had been named, if that dragon were male he would surely be mocked as effeminate. Since the brown hided dragonet Impressed to Aphrodie without really looking at the boys Keshia assumed it was a copper. Keshia then noted that the second blue had also Impressed to a female candidate, did that mean that was a sapphire? Come to think of it was Andol’s blue actually male? He liked boys, or maybe both, so maybe he could Impress a female dragon… Well she’d find out later.
Uureian shuffled from foot to foot and wondered when the whole ‘robes and sandals’ thing had come about. Even the robe with some good solid boots wouldn’t be too bad, or thicker soled sandals. Was it perhaps some kind of test? Maybe it was supposed to send the faint of heart running off for cool water and better footwear. Steadfast was nowhere in view but Uureian jumped like the brown firelizard had squawked in his ear and tried to pay attention to events. Another two dragons had hatched since the first Impression a smaller, lighter, blue and a dainty brown. Uureian tagged both of them for the female variants of those colours, mostly because they just looked more feminine than the average blues and browns, it came as no surprise when both Impressed to girls, neither of which he knew that well.

Andol didiced that it was time to lead Hexeth off the sands to feed him. As he was doing so the little blue was right on his heels and staying very very close to him. Andol almost tripped over him somtimes and when they reached the area were the food was Andol began to feed Hexeth and said to him softly " Hexeth my dear there is no reason to be so afraid. I am scared too. Though the fact you are here makes me feel better." Hexeth looked at Andol and said You are scared too Mine. Well if you are shy then I can hide both of use form the other people. Andol smiled at the blue as Leaf just chirped. Now she had two creatures to drag out of there shells. Andol realized he would have somthing bigger to hide behind now when he became really shy. Becuase could tell that Hexeth would be happy to hide him.

Amerna tried to appear calm, but a close look would reveal her nervousness. She was biting at the corner of her mouth, and she kept clenching and unclenching her fists. Two blues were first, and they both Impressed to girls. Maybe one was an odd female blue, then. The next was definitely a female brown...what were they called? Coppers. Unlike the others, Amerna was unmoved by the Copper's feminine grace and beauty. She hadn't been raised to settle for a female Brown.
She shifted slightly on the sands, waiting for more eggs to hatch. She was beginning to doubt the presence of a gold in this clutch, and wondered if she should just leave, but that would probably be seen as suspicious. She stayed where she was, hoping the "wrong" dragon wouldn't Impress her.

The next eggs to hatch were the sky egg and the scrambled eggs egg. Both of them seemed to hatch simultaneously; the sky egg hatching blue and the scrambled eggs egg hatching bronze. The little bronze nodded courteously to the blue, allowing him to have his big moment for impression, even though he didn't even really notice, he was to focused on the candidates, the females in particular. Males didn't impress females. Even the homosexuals normally impressed green and that was that. The homosexuals normally just had moths for their green's flight or just kept to themselves in the weyr because they weren't as accepted as male homosexuals, even if that was unfair. But, this little blue was focused on the females. Most people were convinced that he must just be a big sapphire since males didn't impress females, but he impressed Keshia. He said to Keshia, Mine, your Fantasmath is hungry. Would you mind feeding him?
As soon as the blue Fantasmath had hatched the little bronze started eying his choices among the males candidates. The bronze then looked to the so far forgotten candidate Faryl. He was standing there, quite unsure of himself as everyone else impressed. He could see Amerna off with the girl candidates. Faryl hated spying on this nice weyr. He also hated the looks people gave him when he told them he was Lara's and B'aval's child. So what if his "mother" had claimed him even if he wasn't really hers and his real mother was dead. B'aval had begged his "mother" to claim him so that no one would realize that his real mother was dead and so that he would have a mother to raise him because B'aval didn't want to be the only one raising this child. Faryl was thinking about his strange family when the little bronze gently came um and looked into his eyes and said, Mine, your Grabsteineth has come and he is hungry. Could he please eat?
Egg: Egg 8: Sky egg (looks to hold blue) rider: Keshia Dragon Name: Fantasmath Came from: Fantasma is Italian for Ghost Color: blue (regular old blue in color of a medium size) Personality: Even if his name suggests a dreamer he is actually a very down to Earth dragon. He is always very calm and he hates gossip a rumors. He also likes knowledge and studying and always wants his rider to read to him. Color Code: blue
(adoptable spy)Egg: Egg 13: scrambled eggs egg (looks to hold bronze) rider: Faryl Dragon Name: Grabsteineth Came from: Grabstein is German for Gravestone Color: Bronze (oragne tint to his hide) Personality: Grabsteineth is always very courteous to everyone. He also likes to say things in a confusing way even though he doesn't realize that what he is saying is confusing. He is always willing to let someone else go first, except when he flies. When he matures and flies after a female, he shall get the female... Color Code: CC6600

Keshia caught her breath as another two eggs burst open spilling an orangey bronze and another blue to the sands, so far it looked like this clutch was going to be heavy on blues, or possibly blues and sapphires. The newly hatched bronze was a sight, and a personality too to judge by the way he inclined his head and let his small brother (or sister?) take the attention. Some lad would be very lucky to Impress that bronze!
The blue didn’t seem to pay his large brother much mind he, or maybe she, was totally focused on the candidates presented to him. It was confusing now that dragons couldn’t be automatically sexed by their colour but more interesting as well, this blue seemed interested in the girls but looked more masculine than feminine to Keshia’s eyes. Mine, your Fantasmath is hungry. Would you mind feeding him?
Yes that definitely sounded like a male voice to her, and the pronoun was male, therefore this dragon must be a blue, not a sapphire. Oh wait… ‘Fantasmath?’ She asked unsurely, not quite ready to believe it. Yes? Fantasmath inquired patiently, he was hungry now. ‘Nevermind, let’s go and get you some food.’ Keshia decided as the sharp edge of Fantasmath’s hunger touched her.
Uureian grinned like a madman, another one of his shy friends had Impressed and it looked like another blue. Fantastic! Uureian’s face fell a little as he considered for the first time that he might not Impress. It would be just terrible if all his friends were weyrlings and he wasn’t, they’d never see each other! Uureian glanced back at the clutch, though the eggs were rocking, shaking, and cracking like crazy now only a few had actually hatched, he still had a chance then…
