 Oresia Weyr was founded during a time of prosperity. It was the time between Passes, and many of the greater Weyrs had become crowded. Several younger queens were sent out to establish small Weyrs across Pern. Among them was Weyrwoman Oresia, and her Gold Forseth. They happened upon towering cliffs made of gray rock, with white veins running through the caverns. The place was perfectly shaped for a Weyr, and the white rock (later identified as marble) provided an attraction that many other Weyrs did not have.
Then, 50 turns ago, a deadly plague swept through the Weyrs of Pern. What had once killed only humans attacked the dragon-kin in full force. The fighting wings were depleted, and the threat of the Red Star's return loomed menacingly in the future. Oresia was still a fairly new Weyr at the time. Located on a large island off the coast of Southern Boll, Oresia was isolated enough that the plague did not reach their home. When the disease had finally run its course, most of Oresia's population left to help repopulate the greater Weyrs. The Weyr fell into disrepair, and was mostly forgotten.
According to the records, Thread is due to fall in only one short turn. Riders from all over Pern are readying for the fight, and a movement has been made to repopulate the smaller Weyrs, including Oresia. Many, including the new Weyrwoman Amair, are hard at work to get the Weyr up and running quickly while a clutch of the last late queen hardens on the sand. There have also been several strangely colored fire-lizards impressed and spotted around the island, and there are worries that whatever caused them to mutate might be catching for the dragons...

Is there Thread? Not at the moment, but it's due to fall in a Turn
What about needed characters? We need a Headwoman, a Head Cook, Weyrharper, Weyrhealer, 4 Lord Holders, Master Miner, dragonriders of every canon color, and weyrlings from the last clutch.
