~It is a stormy night on a small Seahold on the Southern Continent. A Harper speaks quietly to his assembled audience.~
It has been over a hundred years since the time thread began to fall again. The Queens of the past that rewrote Pern are a century behind us. Dragons are almost gone and not a one of us could say why. They no longer protect our skies and the only human survivors are small groups like ourselves, clinging to what bare existence we can find. No more do wings of Gold, Bronze, Brown, Blue and Green darken the skies above us in protection.
Not a person knows where they have gone, but we know life is getting harder. The winters have been getting colder and colder, even here, in our tropical little cove has seen wicked storms. The world itself is rejecting us.
Where have the dragons gone? Why have the dragonriders abandoned us? The Weyrs are empty. No trace of them can be found. Our records state their slow decline despite threadfall. Some say it was disease, some say it was a lack of hope that did them in. The last Queen we know of died nearly fifty years ago.
Communication between our Holds is little and as you know, we often go a year without any word from Southern Hold and it has been a very long time since we have heard from the North.
But, all is not lost. I saw wings yesterday. Yes, wings!
Wings of bronze caught my eye as I watched the sun rise yesterday. Past the mountain range, towards the great inland sea; I could hardly believe it myself, I stared and stared and it was only after many long minutes did the dragon disappear behind the range.
Where have they gone and why did they go? We have seen the first Threadfall with our own eyes out over the sea, Are the dragon’s back to protect us? These questions gnaw at my mind.
Communication between Weyr and Hold is at a minimum – Weyrbred Characters are a must!
We currently have a Weyrling Plot in need of Weyrlings! 1 Brown, 4 Blue and 8 Green’s are currently Available! Dragon names are already chosen, but we are willing to make exceptions! Male riders are badly needed.
Adult Rider Plotline includes the kidnapping of the current Weyrwoman! Oh no! We are in need of more adult riders. Greens and Blues are fully available – We also have Two Bronzes available (an older one and a younger one) as well as three Brown dragons at various ages. See the board for more details! Again, Male riders are always needed.
We have a Clutch scheduled for late March! This will be a unique clutch for the board as a member has volunteered to do art for the eggs! Don’t miss the chance to impress us with your Candidate. Now is the time to join and grow with your Candidate to better your chances at impressing! As always, Males are desperately needed.
