This had to stop.
A queenrider had been slain, not to mention the weyrling bronze. Somebody. Somebody was targeting C'lyn's ranking riders.
Which meant, if nothing else, a threat to the woman he loved. The woman who might as well, emotionally if not legally, be his wife. A threat to himself frightened him less.
And then there was Karlyn. Would this murderer harm a child in the creche? Likely not.
He could not imagine that the criminal was one of his dragonriders. What dragon would allow its rider to kill a queen? And thus, thus he had had Kilith call everyone not otherwise occupied to the bowl...even the weyrlings.
This was going to end, and ending it meant everyone had to be on alert, everyone had to be ready. He would have the wherhandlers alerted too, have at least some of them come to the Weyr as a night watch. That was what whers, after all, were best at.
But who could it be? A disgruntled drudge? A crafter who was really a spy for the High Council...perhaps, although he would have thought their primary target would have been Tirlynna.
Perhaps still would be. He could not help but glance around for his sister.
OOC: Open thread, we NEED some activity around here.

Idara hovered near the edge of the group of gathering riders. A first glance showed the young queenrider standing still, waiting patiently for everyone to arrive so C’lyn could say whatever he felt necessary about the current happenings. At a second glance Idara was looking even paler than usual, and dark smudges under her eyes, as well as the way her gaze kept drifting away to rest on a certain pale gold shape among the sunning dragons, attested to her concern on the matter.
At least it would stop some of the sillier rumours flying about if there was a semi official announcement, she thought, shifting slightly so she could see Tuinth better, even though it was far more likely for her to be targeted than her dragon. it wasn’t herself Idara had been losing sleep over though.

Kelyna came in and stood by C'lyn. To all appearances she stood upright, but if you looked closer you could see the deep circles under her eyes. She had people to comfort and work with, people who were demanding. She wanted to sleep, and instead she moved around the weyr telling everybody the culprit would be caught. Instead of sleep, she watched every corner, afraid for herself, afraid for Malaracyth, and afraid for the child she hadn't told C'lyn about. Yes, fear kept her awake.
Mine, no one would dare to hurt you. Everyone here knows you and loves you too much.
Do they? If they have no fear to kill Haith and Zenniel, then will they fear to kill me? Did Zenniel ever do anything wrong? The bronze rider was disliked, and he was one incident, but an inncident that resolted in the death of a gold as their gold flight started?
I don't know the gold replied shakily to her rider.
Kelyna leaned gently against her weyrmate, taking strength from standing at his side.

There was also another presance there in the the weyr bowl.... yet it was in the shadows, but being that it was in the weyrbowl, it was esaily given away by the large shape that one could make out, as well as a couple of firelizards that hovered around. And'l sat there becuase he wanted to hear what the weyrleader had to say. He was tried of the murders and he was tried of the fact that the person was not caught. All the shappire rider knew was, that whoever the culplurat was.... he better hope that And'l did not get his hands on him. He would avenage the dead dragons.
The rider knew better then to try and go do this, but if asked to do so... he would do so galdly. It was in this moment that he dieicded not to sit in the shadows, so the weyrleader would know for sure that the young man was there. He slowly stood up and with Hexeth following he approched the weyrleader and the newly arriving weyrwomen and stood at what would be an good distance away form someone who was giving a speech. The few firelizard that had been flying around him, kept doing so while Leaf sat crouched in her pet's hair. Hexeth stood next to her rider, but with the way that she was looking around... it was obvious the Shappire was worried about her rider. Hexeth had always been very protective... always had.... always would. So she was ready to hide him if she felt like he was in danger.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A cloud of firelizard suddenly appered and it obvious herald the arrival of there favorite dragon. The white dragon soon landed down in the weyrbowl as his rider slipped off. Bamre looked around for his weyrmate. He was just as worried over it as the weyrleader. He figured that Purth would be alright, sinice he knew if anyone tried to hurt him or the white dragon. They would probably get there head bitten off by a flock of firelizards. He noticed that his brother had a few extra firelizards around him.
He gave Purth a look for a moment, and the white dragon said, What? Someone needs to wacth over your brother too. The white rider rolled his eyes saying, You know that Hexeth wacths over him like a hawk.... more than three of my fairs worth of firelizards ever could The white dragon only gave a soft rumble of laughter with no reply. There was really not much he could say back. His rider was right.

C'lyn was not going to let anything happen to Kelyna. If something did...Idara was in no way, shape or form ready to become the Weyrwoman of Allride. And the young bronze her dragon was likely to change...
Even had he not loved her, even had they not been one of those leading pairs with true affection for one another, he would not have let anything happen to her.
He waited as the riders gathered. His eyes fell on Tirlynna, as Reinth touched down not far from Purth. He knew she, too, was likely a target. Not a queenrider, no, but close to qualifying as one. It was a strange situation, but she had learned to deal with it and with her odd dragon. He saw Aphrodie and J'tor approach together, talking softly, although he saw nothing between copper and brown riders than friendship. He also saw the bright red and gold form of M'kar's Fioreth.
They were all coming....but slowly, drawn in from all corners of the Weyr. He would give it a bit longer then have the gold summon any stragglers.

Normally Tombath would have dropped his rider off and taken his great bronze bulk out of the way. Normally. Equally, on a normal day Uu’ian would have joined the growing crowd without another thought, he’d never been one for hanging back. Today however Uu’ian offered no more than a wave to those he knew well before heading in his dragon’s wake, for predictably, the bronze was on a direct course for the single dragon he favoured above all others, even the golds he was born to chase. One Hexeth, a blue recently revealed to be a sapphire with some gender issues. Yes for a change their weyrmates were out in the open, but Hexeth’s presence placed them on the edge of the crowd formed mostly of riders.
As protective as ever of his weyrmate, or maybe a little more since the loss of a queen (one he’d been preparing to chase, because as much as he adored Hexeth, Tombath was still a bronze and driven by his instincts to pursue a Rising queen) had brought home to the bronze that anyone could be suddenly snatched off, Tombath came up beside the sapphire and loomed over her, his own faceted eyes scanning for anything out of place. Rolling his eyes at both dragons (who was going to attack anyone in this crowd?) Uu’ian moved in beside his mate, as protective as Tombath in his own way, though he didn’t bother wasting time posturing at shadows, only stood close by And’l.
Further into the crowd Keshia shook her head fondly at a pair she could honestly call friends. She wondered if And’l and Uu’ian would actually hear whatever it was the weyrleader had to say between Tombath’s fussing and them being so… like they were. Well And’l probably would but she’d bet Uu’ian still wasn’t taking things anything like a seriously as he should. Although speaking of not taking things seriously, Keshia had to surpress a laugh as she caught sight of the weyrlingmaster chivvying along a pair of bickering weyrlings, and shooing a brown weyrling dragon away to the side of a young silver. Siblings, did Impression stop them bickering? Perish the thought!
