(OOC: I am posting tonight cause I ain't going to be here tommarow through six. So, this is Kelyna's child being BORN on the third.)
Kelyna was laying in the infirmary, as her labor had started late at night, after the sun was gone for the day. She was already tired just from making things run smoothly when her labor started. She felt horrid at points, but she kept going. When the little child came out, it twas a little girl with super curly whittish blonde hair and big, innocent, and light blue eyes. She looked like most babies, but she didn't cry in her first hours, in fact, she was awfully quiet, too quiet. It was unnatural for a baby to be born this quiet. As the hours wore on, the baby was plainly not making a noise, and it was obviously as a live and happy as ever, it just never realized that it had left its voice down in the little girls'd mama. It was a mute baby, born without proper vocal chord development, born to never sing in a society that loves music.

Softly, C'lyn entered the infirmary. He had been bursting to see the child, but he knew he had to give his mate time to recover. They called it 'labor' for a reason.
"Kelyna?" he called, softly, not wishing to disturb her if she was still asleep.
The healer had already told him he had a daughter. A girl to spoil and dote on and maybe Impress a gold some day...

Kelyna smiled slightly when she heard C'lyn. "Come in," She whispered soflty, so as not to wake the little girl in her arms. She gently rocked the little girl in her arms. She still hadn't decided on a name for her little girl, but names could come later. She was slightly saddned that her child was so quiet, but hwat did it matter, the little girl was her child and that was all that mattered. Mine, can I see your little one? Malarcyth asked hers. I am afraid not Malaracyth, you might scare her, and, I think you are to bigg to fit in here.

Quietly, the man slipped in. "She's perfect," he pronounced as soon as he saw the baby. "Have you named her yet?"
It was, of course, the woman's province to do such things in the Weyr, although if she was stumped for ideas, C'lyn would gladly help.

Looking up at C'lyn she said with a sligth smile, "I haven't decided on a name quite yet, but I was thinking something like Karlyn. Something along the traditional naming methods. What do you think?" Kelyna wondered when she whould tell C'lyn that the girl was believed to be mute. That the girl had no voice. That she would never be able to laugh out loud, to talk, to whisper, that she would hear the world, but the world wouldn't hear her. The only thing Kelyna could think of that might make up for this was an ability to talk and hear all dragons. Most people had a slight ability these days, but nothing major, like the old abilities. She wondered, maybe the girl was born mute because of her mental abilities, maybe her mutness would make her mantally stronger.

C'lyn smiled. "Karlyn I wouldn't object to." He reached out to delicately touch the baby.
It was a pretty name for a pretty girl. His pretty girl. Of course, Kelyna was doing all the work. He would have to do something to make up for that.
