It's the year
2012,
and being a Christian
can get a guy killed.
2012,
and being a Christian
can get a guy killed.
In the not-too-distant future, the biggest changes come not in medicine, technology, or science, but in the new world government. The world government is known as the World Peace Alliance. The WPA believes that Christianity is the root of all war, and now being a Christian is punishable by imprisonment or death. It is considered hate speech to share your faith. Some do anyway, and are killed for it. But the government denies that any of those who have been killed ever existed.
So what's a Christian to do? Some believers stay in society, living double lives; pretending to be one thing while believing another. Others retreat to safe houses and underground caves, where they can worship God without fear for their lives. Some choose a third path, joining one of the secret alliances of Christians like the gang known as the Tattooed Rats.
The non-Christians look upon their believing comrades as freaks, people who have been brainwashed into believing a philosophy of lies. Many report to the WPA, anyone these days could be a spy. Traitorism is breeding as well. The WPA offers a hefty reward to anyone who will turn in his or her Christian friends or family for "reeducation." In these troubled days, it's hard to know whom you can trust.
As if that weren't bad enough, their battle is not only against flesh and blood. The principalities, powers and rulers of the darkness of this age want to have their say in the matter too. Demons abound in society, posing as your neighbor, your teacher, your best friend... Without the help of God, it's hard to see through the masks. But the dark side isn't the only one on this playing field. Angels are always standing by, waiting to guide God's children back to the right path.
So that's the way it is in 2012. Are you going to try to blend in with society? Or are you gonna take a stand--even if it gets you killed?
