She was perfection itself, Aphrodie thought as Geisteth slept. No, she was not the largest dragon ever shelled, she was no glorious queen, nor was she a delicate rainbow.
She was Geisteth, and she was the best dragon on all of Pern. She was right where Aphrodie wanted her to be, size-wise. How could she ever have imagined she might Impress sapphire or green?
No, she had her forever partner now. And Andol had his blue. "The world is perfect."
The only response from Geisteth was a tail-twitch.

Andol walked into the barracks with Hexeth following him. Though Andol was worried that he was going to trip as close as the blue was following him. Andol was holding Leaf in the way he usally did. He quickly found his bed sat down on in. Though Hexeth immdenallty followed him leaving claw mark on the side of Andols bed and he hid behind Andol the best he could. Andol though for a moment. He loved Hexeth. The little blue had a personallty much like his own. Which ment that he certain wasn't pushing Andol to be more outgoing. Andol wonder if Hexeth wanted him to be more shy. He had noticed he had been a little more. Though just little. Andol just looked at Hexeth and siad My love you know you won't be able to come here in my bed for very long. Soon you will be to big. Hexeth then siad Until that day comes Mine I will. Andol smiled at him and siad Ok my dear if that is what you want. As long as you are happy. Andol was gald though that at least Hexeth was willing to sleep in his own bed. Andol looked over to where Aphrodie was and he just hid his head behind Leaf as Hexeth attempted to hide behind him.

Aphrodie glanced over. "You know...that's the wrong way around."
The image of the dragon hiding behind the boy behind the firelizard was making her stifle a giggle. Geisteth opened her outer set of lids. For now, the smallish copper said nothing, though.
"What's the matter? You have the cutest blue on Pern." That was safe. She could not say he had the cutest -dragon- on Pern. Geisteth won that contest, hands down.

When Hexeth heard her say that he immidatly tried to hide Andol with his wing. Though was not really successful becuase he was not yet big egough to do that yet. Andol just softly pushed his wing out of the way and said Don't worry my dear. I will be ok. She's a friend. Hexeth said Are you sure Mine? Andol smiled and siad Yeah I'm sure. Andol then slowly lowered Leaf form his face and said " Yeah I guess it is." Though he was still very neverous he was trying to stay brave for Hexeth's sake. " Me and him are very much the same. He is very shy too."

Aphrodie smiled. "It's okay, Hexeth. You don't have to hide Andol from me...even if that is a very nice wing you have there.
He was definitely a handsome blue, but when she looked back at Geisteth, her heart totally melted. She loved her dragon, and there was... It was odd. One should resent things forced on one with no choice, and she had had none. Geisteth had simply claimed her.
But it all felt so right that she could not do so. "How's Leaf dealing with sharing you with a dragon, Andol?"

Hexeth immdeatly responded to Aphrodie Why shouldn't I hide Mine. The blue then covered his head with his wings and curled up behind Andol. Andol smiled at Hexeth and just reached back and began to scracth the blues eye rigde. That was Hexeths brave side that popped up rarely. Though Andol found he only usally acted like then when they were alone together. Andol then said to Aphrodie " He thinks the world his a scary place. I think he is just trying to hide me form it." Leaf looked back at Hexeth and chriped at him. The little green seemed like the only other thing besides Andol that he was not afriad of. " Leaf just adorse Hexeth. She tries to get him to be out going like she does me." All of Andol's words were spoken with a certain neverousness to them. He immdenatly though as so as he was done talking he hid behind Leaf again.

Aphrodie smiled at Hexeth. "Because you both need to learn to be braver," she pointed out, but there was a wry note to her voice.
Geisteth opened her eyes slowly. Morning, brother Hexeth she sent to the blue, then wrapped her tail possessively around Aphrodie's ankle.
"Hey, you'll trip me up doing that." Two much smaller heads also popped up from the couch...apparently, Ocean and Shimi had joined the dragon for her nap.
"Hexeth seems a typical, quiet blue. Geisteth...I dunno. We don't have a large sample of coppers yet."
Her dragon managed to be quiet -and- outgoing. She was very strong, Aphrodie decided. And, of course, incredibly loyal. And it was as if she had not had color vision before...although her glimpses of the world as Geisteth saw it were odd. Those faceted eyes just didn't...register images the same as human eyes at all.
She glanced at Geisteth then Hexeth. And, for some reason known only to her, the girl blushed scarlet.

Hexeth didn't reply and again just buried his head under his wings. Andol looked at the blue and said There is nothing to be scared of my dear. Hexeth still kept his kept his head under his wings. Though he did remove them form in front of his head to reply to Geisteh. Hello Geisteh. Though this time he did not bury his head under his wings again though he was still attempting to hide behind Andol. He looked at Hexeth and said " Yeah though I would say he is abit more shy than the avarage blue. Though your right about Geisteh we will need to have more coppers to find out what personailly they seem to typcially have." Andol then tilted his head and looked at Aphrodie curiously when he saw her blush. He wondered why she would be doing that. He then looked at Hexeth and Geisteh and then back at Hexeth. He did this a few more times before he came to a conculsion that cuased him to blush scarlet aslo. Though Andol was not sure if it was for the same reason. Though he had a pretty good idea that it might be.

Aphrodie studied her friend. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"
Why are you both turning that interesting color?
She looked at copper then at blue. "I bet you are..."
Of course, it had been almost inevitable, even if a blue had chosen a girl at this hatching. Well, Andol could have Impressed green, but that would be so unlikely.
"If they -do-...umm..." She wasn't sure what she intended to say or ask. It would just be a flight, and Hexeth -would- chase...how could he not?

Andol nodded and siad " Yes." He then blushed even more and hid his face behind Leaf. He knew that Hexeth would chase. He did not really like the idea, but if he was chasing Geisteth and caught her. He did not think he would mind. Andol looked at Aphrodie and moved Leaf form in front of his face and siad " If they do what?" He really wanted to hear what she was going to say. Becuase secertly he hoped that it would be the thing he was way to shy to say yet.

They might. Dragons did not care about mating with siblings...and it didn't seem to effect clutches either, although the jury was still out on the fertility of sapphires and coppers. Coppers were more likely than sapphires, she supposed, being bigger.
She'd rather it was Andol than, say...shudder...C'lyn...years older and obviously in love with somebody else.

Andol nodded. He was still blushing serverily. " Then they will fly each other and we...." Andol choose not to finish that sentance becuase he was way to shy of a person to finish that sentance. " Though I know that I would be alot less neverous if Hexeth flew Geisteth than any other dragon." Andol was the type to give a subtle hint that he liked someone instead of being blunt about it like his brother. He hoped Aphrodie would pick up on it.

Aphrodie smiled. "Same here, but it's going to be up to Geisteth...and right now, she's radiating confusion at me. I think we should change the subject."
She didn't think Geisteth was -quite- ready to be dealing with the birds and the bees just yet, and neither was Hexeth. "You know...there's no way you could mistake Geisteth for a small brown, is there. Well, maybe from a long distance."
Her face was just too...female.

Andol nodded and said " I agree Hexeth is doing to same." He then studied Geisteth for a mintune and siad " Yeah she looks way to femine to be mistakin for a brown." She was a very pretty copper. Andol had to adimt that. Hexeth shifted so that he could cover his head better with his wings. The little blue was scared and Andol knew that Hexeth wanted to leave though Andol was not going to let him.

Aphrodie smiled at Hexeth. He was clearly scared, but he had to learn to deal with people better.
"She has a delicate face, and it's...as soon as she hatched, I knew she was copper, not brown, and she's prettier than the other copper. More refined."
She glanced over at the blue. "Hexeth's good looking too. Malaracyth throws good hatchlings."
