demands and disaster

Uu’ian sat on the floor with his back against Tombath’s couch. His petty, adorable, tyrant of a dragon was asleep again. Was this how parents felt when their offspring were put to bed? He loved his strange bronze but there was no doubt that he could be as demanding and trying as a toddler sometimes. This morning had definitely been one of those times.

First Tombath was hungry, Uu’ian expected that, Tombath was always hungry when he woke up. Then he wanted a bath to wash off some imagined dirt on his hide, Uu;ian had been inadvertently knocked on his rear twice by Tombath’s tail and wings, which seemed to be only marginally under the bronze’s control. Then while Uu’ian was oiling him Tombath had knocked the oil over and that had taken forever to clean up. Meanwhile Tombath was complaining like crazy because he was sleepy again now and Uu’ian hadn’t swept the dust from his bed yet. Uu’ian had been getting very tired of it indeed by that time but obliged for the simple reason that the sooner the couch was swept off, the sooner Tombath would climb onto it and sleep. Hopefully he wouldn’t be quite so whiny when he woke up.

Now Tombath was clean, shining, and content, while Uu’ian was worn out, hot, and relived that his bronze was back to sleeping and outgrowing his hide again.

Andol found his way to the wyerling barracks. He had just finished bathing Hexeth and the little blue was nice and clean. Andol walked in and saw Uu'ian sitting next to his dragons couch. Andol of course started to blush. Though he hid Leaf in front of his face to try and hide it as he made his way over to where Uu'ian was. He removed Leaf form in fornt of his face though the blush remind. " Hello Uu'ian." Andol sat down in fornt of him and Hexeth came and curled up behind Andol and covered his head with his wings. Hexeth then removed them for a sec and the looked at Andol and tried to hide Andol form Uu'ian with his wings. Andol smiled at Hexeth and siad Thanks my love, but you don't need to hide me form him. He is a friend. The blue said to Ok, but I would fell that you are safer if you would let me. Hexeth consider the world a scary place and he wanted to hide his bonded form it so that Andol would be ok. Andol smiled and rubbed the blues eye ridges and siad Don't worry my love I will be ok. The blue then removed his wings form in front on Andol and then Hexeth covered his head with them. Andol then siad " Sorry about that. Hexeth is really shy he thinks the world is scary and wants to hide me form it." Andol was still blushing. Though he did not try to hide it becuase he knew that Uu'ian already knew that he liked him.

Uu’ian chuckled softly at Andol and Hexeth. The blue was very sweet to try and hide his shy chosen even though he was clearly shy himself. ‘He’s sweet to try and protect you.’ Uu’ian said what was on his mind. ‘Especially when he wants to hide himself so badly.’ Uu’ain noticed his friend was blushing but ignored it, he knew Andol liked him he just wasn’t sure how he felt about things. Was he supposed to like only girls now he had Tombath? Uu’ian knew most bronzeriders were heterosexual, he also knew he wasn’t so why had he Impressed Tombath? Uu’ian looked back at the snoozing bronze shape, well Tombath was hardly a usual bronze so he could do unusual things.

As if summoned by his pet’s wandering thoughts Uu’ian’s brown firelizard suddenly popped in from somewhere to land in Uu’ian’s lap, flare his wings and shriek at his pet. Uu’ian jumped, caught the back of his head a thump on Tombath’s couch and gave Steadfast an annoyed look while rubbing his head. ‘Was there any need for that?’ he asked the flit with some asperity. Steadfast furled his wings and dropped his head as if to say yes of course there was.

‘Look on the bright side Andol, or whatever you’re changing your name to now, if you’re changing it, I never asked did I? At least Hexeth and Leaf aren’t nagging you all the time. Between Tombath’s whining this morning and Steadfast deciding to discipline me for wandering thoughts I’m worn so thin you can nearly see daylight through me.’ Uu’ian smiled as said the last bit and stroked Steadfast. Behind him Tombath’s eyelids opened slowly revealing one jewel bright eye. I see you Hexeth.[/color] the bronze teased his shy brother gently. When Steadfast was around there was hardly any point in trying to go back to sleep.

Andol smiled all the while wishing his blush would go away though he knew that it never would. " Yes I know. That is why I love him so much. Me and him are just alike" Andol reached out and began to rub the blues eyerigdes. He wacthed as Uu'ians brown appered and shirked at him. He luaghed at the brown. The little thing was so sweet and seem to be doing a good job of keeping its pet on track. Leaf when she saw Steadfast she chirped at him greeting her son as he showed up. Andol then siad " No I did not plan on changing my name. I'm just going to leave it Andol sinice that is what Hexeth called me when he was frist born. Though you shoudn't worry about those too. You are lucky to have them wacthing over you all the time." When Hexeth heard Tombath's voice he just repiled Hello Tombath. The blue then quickly turned and faced the other way and then hid his head under his wings again. Andol just patted Hexeth on the back and siad " There there my dear there is no reason to be so shy." Though the blue still did not turn back around.

Uu’ian considered his dragon for a moment, noting the open eye. ‘I don’t know whether Tombath is like me or not, either we’re more like each other than I know or less I expect. Things often turn out that way.’ Indeed they did but Uu’ian knew better than to think about that now, if he tried he’d be getting another deafening shriek from Steadfast.

‘At least you have it simple with your name, Tombath spent an hour or so trying to decide how I was going to change my name. He said everything sounded too much like urine for his liking.’ Uu’ian rolled his eyes at that; he didn’t think any variation on his name sounded like urine, provided people pronounced it right but Andol and Hexeth might find Tombath’s complaints amusing. ‘I think I need to worry about them. I don’t need watching like a wayward beast, well not much anyway, and I really don’t need Steadfast sending me deaf by squalling in my ear the whole time.’ Andol had some pretty odd ideas, Uu’in was sure he just had an odd mind to have bonded with a bossy brown firelizard and a fussy bronze dragon. ‘Do you think I’m odd Andol?’ He asked suddenly as a continuation of his thoughts.

Steadfast fluttered from Uu’ian’s lap to Tombath’s head and greeted his mother with a smaller version of a dragon’s warble. Tombath tolerated the firelizard on his skull, but only because his feet were clean. You don’t need to hide from me Hexeth.[/color] The bronze assured his smaller brother. You are my clutchbrother and my Uu’ian likes Yours.[/color]

(Keshia form now on his name will be And'l. Just pretend he already said that or somthing.)

And'l smiled and said " Yep that is a good thing that he did that. We could not have you going around with a name that sounded like that now could we." And'l winked at him and then luaghed again. Leaf then flew over and did her best to perch right beside Steadfast on the bronzes head. And'l then siad before Tombath could do anything. " Don't worry Tombath her feet are clean. I washed her just a hour ago." He smiled. He had said this sinice Uu'ian had told him of his dragons liking for being clean. Though when Uu'ian asked Andol if he thought he was odd Andol quickly said " Of course not. Why would I think that. I mean I hardly ever sleep so people think of me has odd. Though I don't think I am and you arn't etheir. Hexeth at the sound of Tombath's reasurring voice turned around and siad to him Ok if you say so. Hexeth then turned around though he hid his head behind And'l this time instead of under his wings. It was going to take alot more than that to stop Hexeth form being afriad.

Tombath twitched his tail anxiously when Leaf landed on him, and tilted his head back to try and look at her, even though that wouldn’t work for obvious reasons. However he seemed prepared to accept Andol’s word that Leaf wasn’t going to get him dirty and dipped his head in acknowledgement, very slightly so he wouldn’t dislodge either of the firelizards.

Uu’ian shrugged ‘It was just something I was thinking about; mostly it was Tombath that brought it to my mind. I thought bronzes were only supposed Impress, you know, boys who only like girls, although he doesn’t act like everyone says bronzes are supposed to. I get the feeling that at least one of us must be quite odd, I’m just not sure if it’s him, me or both. I thought you might have noticed.’ Uu’ian stopped talking with an ominous feeling that he was digging himself a hole here somehow.

Tombath looked at Hexeth again and seemed to come a decision, the bronze carefully slid off his couch, trying to keep his head level and walked over to lie down beside Hexeth. With care he unfolded one of his own wings and covered Hexeth’s head with it, nearly but not quite clipping Andol around the head in the process. If you feel you must hide I will hide you. You will at least fit a little better behind me than behind Yours, though I don’t know why it is that you and Yours want to hide so much.[/color] Tombath stated with nothing more than slight amusement that Hexeth wanted to hide behind things that were clearly too small to conceal him.

Andol just shook his head and siad " That does not make you odd Uuriean. Tombath chose you becuase he wanted you. I don't think it really matters to him. Beside the fact they only pick guys who like girls is just a sterotype. Ethier that or as it seem at both the hacthngs that have happened recently. All the rules have gone out the window if you know what I mean. So you may not be odd. It just may be a new trend. We will have to wait for other hacthings to happen, but I would bet marks that that is the case. So you should not worry about it." Hexeth who was now covered by Tombath's wing just looked the bronze. He nuzzled his clucthbrother and said Thank you Tombath. His eyes were whirling with happniess. Becuase Tombath was willing to hide him rather than try to make him be outgoing. He just looked at the bronze and relaxed as he let out a soft croon.

Uu’ian sighed. ‘I’m glad you think that.’ He said simply and paused to think about the hatchings. ‘Well I wasn’t here for that firsr hatching so I didn’t notice, though I suppose Purth and all the other unusual dragons shook things up a bit. I bet people were surprised to see them.’ Uu’ian laughed a bit imaging people’s faces when all the new dragons hatched. He’d bet Renth had given people a shock big as she was. ‘This hatching might have been perfectly normal for all I know, though I never heard of blues Impressing girls before and look at Keshia. Maybe the rules are changing, or maybe they were only guidelines, or maybe it’s because anyone can stand for clutches at the moment. What do you think about it?’

Tombath was touched by Hexeth’s happiness, he didn’t think Hexeth relaxed often. You will always be able to hide behind me if you need to, even when we are grown[/color] the bronze promised impulsively and wholeheartedly.

[Yamamoto]

Andol nodded and siad " Problery so. I mean some types of dragons. It is predecitable what type they will impress becuase it is a given. Though though for the rest I think becuase they are letting anyone stand and becuase the rules have gone out the window would be my best guess for what it is gong on." Andol smiled as he looked at Tombath and siad " Though I don't see what you are so worried about. I mean you have Tombath and that is all that matters. You should not change your personaillty to suit the color of your dragon. Tombath impress you becuase you are who you are and for no other reason. So if he his happy with you. Then you should be happy with you too." Andol sighed somtimes he wished he would follow his own advice. Ethier that or Bamre was rubbing off on him. Hexeth just realxed more. He was very happy at the moment. It showed in his eyes and he said to Tombath Thank you Tombath. I will come to you when me and Mine need somewhere to hide.

[Kisha-Ra]

Uu’ian smiled, glad that Andol didn’t think he was odd, even when he sometimes thought himself odd. ‘Well I guess that’s true dragons only choose people who are good for them. Actually I can’t imagine having any dragon but Tombath, just like I can’t think of you Impressing any other dragon than Hexeth. If they hadn’t hatched this time around we’d have to wait for them.’ Uu’ian though about that sentence and decided it had made sense. ‘You know I tried asking Tombath why he chose me and he looked at me like I’d grown an extra head or something and said ‘you are mine’. I should have worked it all out then.’ He added.

Tombath settled himself down by Hexeth without further comment. Everything was well sorted out and he was going to finish his nap whether there were firelizards on his head or not.

And'l smiled and said " Yeah I have asked Hexeth the same thing and I get the same answer. I guess it just goes without saying. That they could not think of the possiably of being with anyone else. To Hexeth he was going to pick me and only me. No one else would have every been right." Hexeth said to And'l Only becuase it is ture. And'l smiled and siad " I know my love. I know." Hexeth then settled down and closed his eye's so that he could take a nap to. Andol looked at the two and said " It looks like they are both trying to sleep. Want to go somewhere else so we don't wake them."

[Kisha-Ra]

Uu’ian nodded and stood up though he knew Tombath could sleep through a volcanic eruption if the bronze was so minded. He was touched by the way Tombath protected his smaller brother, and to totally honest it was good to see Tombath thinking of someone other than Tombath for a change.

‘Okay. Where do you want to go?’ To Uu’ian, who was social creature, any place was good but Andol was more reserved and might want to hide away like Hexeth so clearly did. Therefore Uu’ian would make the choice his. Steadfast launched himself off Tombath’s head, if his pet was going somewhere then Steadfast was going too, to keep him in line.

Leaf flew over and landed on And'ls shoulder as he though for a moment and siad " I would like to go to the lake. It seems like the best place to go. Plus I know some spots were there will not be many people." With that And'l began to walk in that dircection always looking behind him to see if Uu'ian was following him. He was still trying to hide the current blush on his face. He knew that if they dicded to go swiming there would be no hiding like last time.

‘Well as long as you don’t try and drown yourself again.’ Uu’ian said lightly, though he hadn’t felt light hearted at the time. ‘You had everyone really worried then, especially your brother.’ Uu’ian trotted along behind And’l cheerfully, maybe Steadfast would decide to swim when they got to the lake. That firelizard was worse than his mother sometimes. ‘It’s really nice to be coming out here for another reason than giving Tombath a bath. I normally end up soaked and dirty while I’m getting him clean.’ He said with slight self mockery.
