Physical Appearance: Linara is kind of plump, like she's been well fed all of her life. She doesn't look too pudgy because she's tall (5'10) and the extra weight just make her hips, thighs, and chest look a little larger. Linara isn't too badly out of shape, though, she just gets tired out a little faster than everyone else.
Her cheeks are chubby and cute and when she runs too hard or fast, or does a lot of physical activities, her face gets really red and her cheeks become comically rosey red. Linara has bit, almond shape brown eyes and really curly brown hair that clings to her face. She's got short bangs that curl up just above her eyes. Because her parents had marks to spend on her, she usually has good clothes to wear, stuff that's made of good quality cottons and other cloths.
Personality: Linara is spoiled to the core and does her best to try to take advantage of people. Because of her happy looking face, that's kind of pudgy and rosey at the same time, she can get a lot of people to do things for her because she seems so innocent. This just isn't the case: Linara will sometimes do whatever it takes to get her way no matter what. She hates getting told 'no' and doesn't mind hurting anyone's feelings.
She does hate it when people hurt hers, though, and can bear a grudge for a long time. Because she's so snooty all the time, she doesn't really have many friends because she normally says something that suggests she thinks she's so much better than everyone else.
It's sad that she gets so lonely, but it's really all her fault. She still hasn't learned how to be nice to people and doesn't understand how to share because her parents never taught her since she was the baby and never had to share anything with younger siblings and always threw a fit when they tried to give her hand-me-downs. Even thought she doesn't get along with people, she does try hard at first, but then just gets lazy. She doesn't really even know what hard work is and just expects everyone to do everything for her.
All of her bad personality can be changed though and there is hope for Linara. Because she's so determined to be the best (even though she doesn't really know how to work) she's willing to learn things...sort of. She tries really hard at somethings in the beginning, but gets discouraged fast. Sometimes all she needs is a push in the right direction.
History: Her mom and dad were really rich traders that moved to Renegade Hold when Linara was thirteen when they heard the rumor that they could get even richer selling and trading from there to the other major Holds on Pern. Even though they knew it could be dangerous living in such a new area that hadn't been explored, they wanted to see if they could make any more money. They weren't expecting any more children when Linara came along and by that time all the baby clothes they had for their other kids was long gone.
Before that was bought the newest best clothing, given the most wonderful toys, and learned that life and everything around it revolved around her. When they moved to Renegade Hold, things only got worse because her parents got into even bigger business there. She became annoying and irritating. None of her siblings wanted to be around her because all she wanted them to do was look after her and do things for her. Soon, she had even annoyed all the other boys and girls she met her age and didn't have too many friends.
Her parents always wanted her to play with people who had money too and those other spoiled kids were the ones who she wanted to play with too. She thought that money was everything and because she got everything she ever asked for, that's what she expected life to be. Linara was never expected to work or become an apprentice to any Craft because her parents had already decided that their kids were going to get all of her money, but that thought only made Linara bored.
She didn't want to just sit at home all the time like her mom did, but having lots of money and never having to work was nice it its own way. Still, she always thought there was something better than what her mom and her sisters were doing. One day, and it hit her like Thread itself, she couldn't help to notice all the dragons and their riders. The colors of the dragons were always so beautiful and maybe because the suns were shining in just the right way, they looked even more magnificent. Linara decided that she would like to be a dragonrider and went home and immediately told her parents. At first they thought she was joking, knowing that she wasn't cut out of the type of work that came with dragonriding, but Linara was adament. She wouldn't take no for an answer!
Because there was no Searching, all her parents had to do was contact one of the dragonriders of the Hold who took her to the Weyr to her new life. Linara was excited and not at all worried about all the stuff she would have to do. She didn't know anything about dragonriding and thought it was all going to be like a fairy tale! She's going to have a big surprise waiting for her...

What they hope to impress: As for colors, it really doesn't matter. I'm just hoping to have a dragon whose headstrong enough to get Linara moving! It would probably be good that they both have an arrogant attitude, but Linara does need to learn some respect!
