It had been a while since Haith's flight, and a shorter amount of time since the clutching. There had been a quick egg touching, quick because Haith was extremely protective of her eggs, and when one girl--Chloee--slipped and her fire-lizards threw themselves into a ruckus, Haith told the candidates to leave--forcefully. No one had gotten hurt, but it was enough to keep all but the most adventurous, and daring, at bay.
Now, with the twelve eggs hard on the sands, Haith was feeling a little less protective. She was shifting one when it began to wobble. The large gold looked to and fro, and then shook her head in disappointment. Haith had liked having eggs, and when the eggs hatched, they would become dragons, and they would no longer be hers. Mine, the eggs are moving. Haith said, sadness laced in her voice.
Zenniel had been teaching Arum more tricks, and Mura, hiding shyly on her neck, was becoming jealous. Mura wanted some treats, but only Arum was getting them! The darker Bronze fire-lizard started to emerge when Haith startled Zen. The blond turned and smiled, "Really? They're hatching! Tell the Candidates!"
Haith, still upset, nevertheless sounded the bugle. Come, humans, my children await.

Come, humans, my children await.
Lysita had been asleep and woke with a start, rubbing sleep out of her eyes. "That voice...A gold? Oh my, the hatching, it's happening." She scrambled out of bed and took the white robe from it's hook. She quickly brushed out her hair and hastily put on the robe. As she slowly made here way to the hatching grounds, she wondered about what colour she might get. Will it be a green? A lovely small dagon, coloured like grass, or perhaps a pitch black ebony. Maybe it will be a sapphire, a nice blue female. It could even be a rainbow, a lovely little female with lots of colours.
As she walked into the hatching grounds, she spied a male candidate there already. Only one so far, well it is still pretty soon after the queen sent out the call. She gave the gold queen a curtsey and also dropped one in the rider's direction before taking her place.

Antagyth had been lurking outside the Hatching Grounds ever since that incident with the fire lizard girl. He was protective of the clutch he had sired, and he didn't want any silly humans messing it up. However, it was tiring work, and he was nodding off when Haith bugled. Come, humans, my children await.
The bronze jerked awake, roaring. What's going on? Is someone trying to hurt the children? Then, he realized what was happening, and his eyes turned a happy blue once more. Flying into the Hatching Grounds, he picked up the humming, landing near Haith to watch their clutch hatch.
F'mar soon walked onto the sands and went to stand with Zenniel. Lamia and Mosaic were on his shoulders. "Hello, Zenniel," he said, a blush coloring his cheeks. He liked Zenniel, but he also denied it because he still thought of her as a student. He just never knew how to treat her, and she seemed so shy. It had been very awkward since Antagyth won the Flight.

Come, humans, my children wait.
Parrin heard those words and his breath came to a standstill. Would one of these marvelous creatures be one of his? Would he Impress? Parrin didn't have all that long before he would be unable to stop Impressing. The 16 year old looked around and saw the eggs that would most likely hatch. He remembered some of them. The Galaxy Egg, the Cosmos Egg, the Wind Egg, the Fire Egg, and the Constellation Egg. He knew there were more, but he couldn't remember them off the top of his head.
"Please let me Impress," he whispered. He was afraid that he wouldn't Impress and he would be stuck dragonless for the rest of his days. Parrin was only interested in being a Dragonrider. Dragons always gave him a thrill when he heard them roar and saw them flying. He always watched them as he was growing up. Flying to and fro picking people up and dropping them off. Parrin closed his eyes and continued his prayer of please let me Impress. Parrin hoped and he prayed. Now it was up to the hatchlings to choose or ignore him.

The eggs waited for no one.
Indeed, this was so, for even before candidates and dragonriders appeared, the eggs started quaking. The eggs shook back and forth, and it was not a moment too soon that a candidate or two leaked into the sands. With a sudden burst of eggshell, the Cosmos Egg broke apart in all of the rage that a particularly nasty Blue could give. He quickly Impressed himself off to D'ran, and called himself Toddth.
As if the Cosmos egg was the beginning, two more eggs hatched in quick succession. It was ironic how they were the Water and Fire eggs, and even more ironic that they held a copper and sapphire, two female colors that shouldn't have been. The sappire (who hatched out of the Fire egg) Impressed right away to Wyyrva, announcing her name was Carterth. The copper, though, could not decide.
Name: Toddth Impressed to: D'ran Color: Blue Appearance: Very dark, ominous-looking blue. (Color code 002266) Personality: Sly, wicked, and conniving, you should always watch behind your back when Toddth is around. Is he friend or is he foe?
Name: Carterth Impressed to: Wyyrva Color: Sapphire Appearance: A light, pristine blue. One can sense that she is commanding just by looking at her hide. (Color code: lightblue) Personality: It's as if she grew up in the military. Carterth is bossy, but she takes orders just the same. Don't wrong her.

Lysita watched as the first egg to hatch revealed a blue that quickly impressed to some male. Then two eggs in quick succession, revealing a stunning copper coloured dragonet and a light blue, isn't it called sapphire, dragonet. Her mouth drooped open in awe of their colours, then the light blue one impressed. That left the copper coloured on the sands unimpressed, I hope that one impresses, no matter who it is it chooses. She thought as she watched it, not wanting to look away unless another egg hatched.
Trynoi, entered the hatching grounds a bit late, having had trouble getting into his robe. Oh, it might seem a simple thing to most people, but it was so long, he'd got tangled in it. He'd had to spend some time untangling himself from the fabric before trying again. The second time round there wasn't any trouble and he hurried to the hatching grounds. As he skidded to a stop by the other males, he noticed a few had already hatched, and a couple had impressed by the looks of it.

A small commotion that wasn’t entirely focused on Haith’s eggs heralded the arrival of a few late candidates to the sands, two, a young girl and a heavyset boy had clearly been running. The other, an older lad, had just as clearly not bothered. ‘Out of my way, children.’ Pepanso hissed quietly, pushing past the two younger candidates and making his leisurely way to the group of boys, deliberately forgetting to bow to the queen as he passed by.
Barleen and Aarylyn were not friends, in fact they held each other in mild contempt, but the were united in their dislike for Pepanso. A glance that clearly said ‘what an idiot’ was exchanged before both candidates walked forward and bowed to Haith, almost in unison before joining their respective gender groups.
Barleen looked over the hatched dragons eagerly, was that a brown? Or was it a copper? He hoped it was a brown, coppers were for girls, but a brown, that was a man’s dragon.
Aarylyn sighed over the sapphire that had already Impressed to some lucky candidate, she wasn’t too sure the blue’s newly chosen rider was lucky though, and looked at the copper dragonet, she would Impress soon too, and the others would hatch too. It was all so exciting!
Pepanso looked at the shaking eggs, which one held bronze, or another of those silvers? Naturally when an important dragon hatched it would come to him, he didn’t need to gaze in adoring hope like those idiot little boys al around him. Pepanso affected a bored pose and sniffed at the other candidates.

*Smack* Saenalia fell out of her cot and bumped her head. She hadn't expected to hear a voice in her mind! She looked up in time to see other Candidates getting into their white robes and rushing out. "What is going on?" She asked but she realized that no one had heard her. She decided the best thing to do would be to get her own robe on and get to the sands. That was the only logical thought in her mind. She arrived just in time to see a sapphire dragonet impress and a copper dragonet standing on the warm sands. Saenalia wondered who would be the lucky person the copper bonded to.

Tierelm hurried into the stands, clutching a Healer's bag. He didn't think there would be any accidents, considering how well the last few Hatchings were said to have gone, but someone had to be there just in case. Anyway, he wouldn't miss this for the world. Setting the bag down and taking a seat, he leaned forward in anticipation, gaze fixed on the eggs.
The first egg broke open violently, leaving a blue who quickly went to his rider. Two more eggs hatched in quick succession, a Sapphire and a Copper spilling onto the sands. Tierelm wondered where the new colors had come from. In any case, it seemed they were here to stay. The Sapphire Impressed quickly, but the Copper continued to wander. Tierelm frowned, wondering where her rider was.

More and more the eggs shook. And more and more the little dragons inside scratched away at their eggs. One managed to hook his beak around some little nook on the inside of his egg, and all of a sudden, as if released by pressure, the little thing came tumbling out. The Galaxy Egg contained a Bronze.
The Bronze wandered around dazedly, searching, and slipping in his own egg goo. He bawled out a couple notes, wondering what was happening, what was going on.
Meanwhile, the Copper Impressed. She daintily strode forward, and nearly tackled hers to the ground. I am Valath! was what Aarylyn heard.
Two more eggs burst open at the seams after rolling into each other. One, a dainty little green seemed undecided. She shook the remnants of the Wind Egg off of her. The other, a Brown, seemed to know exactly who his was. He raced to him, and butted the new rider in the knees. He didn't seem to care that the Earth Egg shell was still on his back. Trynoi! Your Teal'cth is here!
Name: Valath Impressed to: Aarylyn Color: Copper Appearance: Brown, not much else. She does have a small sparkle to her hide. (color=saddlebrown) Personality: Vain, very vain. And extremely selfish. She likes to keep everything to herself. She never shares, ever.
Name: Teal'cth Impressed to: T'noi Color: Brown Appearance: A very dark colored brown dragon. He has stripes of lighter brown on his underbelly and under his chin. Personality: Teal'cth is a very silent dragon. He rarely, if ever, talks. When he does talk, he always says something intelligent. He lets his facial expressions do the talking, actually. He is a dragon that almost, if never, gets angry. Yet he can fight quickly and with force. He is a very muscular dragon, and not even the higher colors want to get on his bad side.
(( Guessed my theme yet? ))

Trynoi/T'noi and Teal'cth
Trynoi gasped in awe as he watched the bronze hatch, it was such a lovely looking dragonet. He didn't even notice the copper impressing and only saw the wind and earth eggs colliding and hatching out of the corner of his eye. The next thing he knew there was a voice in his head and something came crashing into his legs. Trynoi! Your Teal'cth is here!
It took Trynoi a moment to realise what it all meant, he had impressed and when he looked down he saw it was a brown. He smiled as he crouched down and scratched his dragonet's eyeridge. "Indeed you are Teal'cth, indeed you are. I bet you are hungry too." Just then the brown dragonet's stomach rumbled, giving the answer without the need for words. He chuckled light as he stood to lead his wonderful Teal'cth to get some food.
Lysita
Lysita watched as several eggs hatched close in timing, smiling as each dragonet made it's entrance. The bronze really was wonderful and she knew it's rider would probably feel estatic no matter who they were. She noticed the copper impress and felt a slight feeling of sadness, yet it wasn't enough for her to give up. Then two eggs knocked together and hatched, one being a brown that impressed straight away. The other a green, one that looked dainty and yet undecided. Oh wonderful dragonet. I am right here if you want me. She thought to herself, wondering if the green, or even any of the unhatched dragonets would hear it.

Aarylyn’s eyes jumped every which way, darting from egg to egg and finally settling on the bronze that managed to tumble forth from the galaxy egg. Anyone but Pepanso. Was her hope for the demanding little bronze, though maybe Pepanso should get a demanding bronze, that would teach him. Aarylyn nodded to herself.
Suddenly she was almost knocked to the ground, but as she stumbled she looked into whirling eyes. I am Valath! the dragonet announced cheerfully, naturally Aarylyn would be thrilled to see her Valath. Aarylyn grinned like a fool and reached out to wrap her arms around Valath’s neck, only to find the little dragon stepped back. Ah ah, you need to feed your dearest Valath first. The dragon’s voice teased as she turned away and followed in the wake of Teal’cth. Aren’t you coming?
Pepanso had eyes only for the bronze who wandered the sands, clearly hatching had dazed him and he couldn’t find Pepanso among all the others. Teo other eggs cracking distracted him for a moment but they contained a brown, who instantly chose some useless boy, and a green. Pepanso ignored them.
Barleen sighed, the dragon on the sands had been a copper and waiting for Aarylyn to appear, not him. The brown that did hatch instantly approached a boy Barleen didn’t know well, leaving a bronze covered in egg goo complaining, and a delicate little green. The green would likely go to some girl and the bronze… not that idiot who pushed Barleen. Please.

There were so many baby dragons! And yet, there were still more! There were two eggs that seemed so close to hatching that they'd had any moment now. And yet there was an egg that hatched before them. It held none other than the most pretty dragon in the clutch so far.
The Judgement Egg burst open in a dazzling array of eggshells. None seemed to latch onto the glorious gold's shimmering hide. She bugled her happiness to the world.
But the Bronze was not to be outdone. He trudged up to Pepanso, and said nothing but I am Rononth.
And the Green flowed smoothly over to Barleen. She sighed and twirled to look at the other dragons, eyeing them curiously. Barleen. She decided, This is not a secure place. Taylath wants to leave, and she is hungry.
From the Star Egg came another Blue. He lay there, barely breathing, like he needed some time to relax, or gain his breath again.
Dragon descriptions coming shortly... but if you've seen SGA or SG1, then you know what their personalities will be.

Lysita gasped as she saw the gold hatch, it was so shiny and beautiful it took her breath away. Oh beautiful golden queen, you are going to make someone very happy, she thought, still wondering if any of the unhatched, or even any hatched yet unimpressed, dragonets could hear. She thought it would be wonderful if she could be a queenrider, yet she would just as happily be a greenrider. She noticed the bronze and green finally impress, yet it was only out of the corner of her eye. She was too busy admiring the beautiful gold dragonet, wish the little queen would chose her although not getting her hopes too high.

Saenalia gasped at the sight of the wonderfully beautiful gold dragonet. She had high doubts that the gold would even look in her direction, let alone choose someone as low in rank as she. She saw herself riding a green or a lower ranked dragon. A gold meant many things, Saenalia never figured she'd be good enough for a gold, or even an Ebony. She moved back behind a few other girls, not wanting to get in the way of the gold dragonet when she made her move to her chosen.
