F'mar was doing some paperwork when he felt an unexpected burst of excitement and lust. Hrm? Paperwork wasn't arousing at all, and Antagyth couldn't be chasing anyone. At least, he better not...
Hey, don't accuse me! It's the little green thing, the bronze answered huffily.
F'mar looked out the window and saw a green speck in the sky. He sighed. It looked like he was just going to have to deal with it until Lamia was caught. He settled back down to wait out the Flight.
The dark green flitt twirled above the feeding grounds, then dove in and chased a rodent down. She caught it and blooded it, then bugled. All males! The call was sent out, and she launched herself into the air, speeding across the weyrbowl.

D'ket was taking a short nap when he felt the twinges of lust. Pounce and Arrow were suddenly not curled up with him anymore. A short swear word was all he said before going over to Oith and curling up beside the sleeping Oith.
Pounce and Arrow, D'ket's two blues, were raising to get to the green flight. Each was personally convinced that he was better than the other and that HE would win the flight. They flew up to the green and answered the green's challenge at the same time. Then they were off after the glowing green.

C'lyn glanced up from his hidework, but the faint feeling of desire was too weak to be Kilith. Just Azure, then finding another green to chase.
The blue launched himself like an arrow to the feeding grounds, twisting in the air to catch a better current.
Competition? Just blues so far, and that suited him. Greens were for blues, and this one would be entirely his before the day was out. The wind under his wings was one force carrying him.
The other was his lust.

D’tini looked up from the heaps of paper that covered his table from end to end. His eye swept around the room in fashion that demanded to know what was going on and alighted on Fortuth. Fortuth looked back with an expression that would have required a raised eyebrow on a human. Not I, the little one. The blue denied with a dismissive flip of his tail. D’tini sighed, ah well; Kismet was such a big flirt that he was bound to chase every rising flitter.
Kismet answered the green’s bugle with one of his own and posed in midair, gliding along with his neck arched wings outstretched and tail slightly curled. See here he was, wasn’t he fine? Yes indeed, and he was surely the only male for her.
‘Hey, where are you going?’ Uu’ian asked his firelizard as Steadfast suddenly took to the air and popped away. It wasn’t like Steadfast to just vanish when there was a chance of scolding Uu’ian about something. Tombath looked supremely unconcerned. He is off to chase the little green. Is it time for my bath yet?
Steadfast caught a breeze with his wings as he reappeared over the feeding grounds and surveyed his competition. All blues so far but Steadfast wasn’t feeling so superior to them today…

Zaphyr had been curled up on Kyrian's bed when he heard the green's challenge. He lifted his head, feeling torn. He was especially fond of Emerald and didn't want to get a scolding from her, but he couldn't overlook the lust that filled his body. Kyrian was sitting at the desk, looking over the essay he was writing and felt the slight lust from his link to Zaphyr. He turned to look at his flit, knowing what must be going through the blue's mind. "If you do not want to chase because of Emerald, then you do not need to."
Zaphyr shook his head, no he would chase and face Emerald's wrath later. He stood and launched off the bed then popped between, reappearing outside and immediately took chase. He aimed straight for the green, but only to follow, at least to begin with. He was as agile as any other blue, or green, and this one would be his.

Lamia trilled, whirling around to see who chased her. First came two fine blues, and they were followed by a third. Then a bronze! And finally, another blue. All fine specimens, and worthy of chasing her. But were any worthy of catching? She would have to find out! With another bugle, she zipped away from the males.
She began to spiral upwards, drawn by instinct to fly higher. Lamia flew fast, determined to keep the males in the dust for now.

Zaphyr gave the lovely green a soft croon as he followed her. He copied her spiral up, trying his best to keep as close as he could without getting too close. He followed her higher and higher, all the while crooning softly in admiration.

Azure was a slightly older blue. And with a bronze in the mix?
He had two choices. Try to catch her quickly and risk being left in the dust if she proved stronger. Or bide his time. He elected for the latter, slipping into a position behind Zephyr, using the other male's wake to carry him...at least until he got wise and shook him off. Anyone who tried that trick on Azure would find himself dealt with quickly, but it was worth a try.
At this point, it was important to stay close to the female, but not exhaust one's wings. To watch her, to assess her mood, to judge when she would be willing to accept a snatch, ready to be claimed from the air.
That time was not yet.

Arrow knew that he had strength to spare so he bounded off, flying in close to the green, as close as he could get. Greens in general didn't have as much staying power as a blue. Arrow like flying like an arrow anyways and so he spiraled up, trying to stay above the green, waiting for his chance to dive in, like an arrow...
Pounce flew in beside Zaphyr, he knew better than to fly off like his idiot clutch brother Arrow. He had more patience than arrow, and unlike his name stated, he could wait, and so wait he did. He would show to that purty female Lamia that he was better than Azure or any bronze. He would use only his own strength and not hall off of someone else, and he wouldn't be stupid enough to let that happen either.

Lamia stopped her spiraling and flew straight, heading towards the lake. When she was over the water, she suddenly halted and snapped her wings in. Turning on a dime, she dove at lightning speed, letting gravity due the work. She trilled teasingly as she sped past the males.
They probably expected her to pull up again near the ground, but she didn't. She kept going, plummeting into the water and holding her breath. She swam a few feet, then burst out of the water, flying back into the air.

Azure actually squawked as Lamia pulled *that* trick. He didn't follow her into the water, but rather skimmed the surface. His wingtips bounced of of little wavelets, forming an odd, twisted wake in the not completely smooth ocean.
As she emerged, he took off after her again, as if springing up from the water itself. Given his hue, she might even momentarily lose sight of him against the water. He was after her again, and he was *going* to catch this green. There was no question!

Arrow fallowed Lamia as straight as an arrow and straight into the water. He folde his wings for less resistance and was as quick as ever behind Lamia.
Pounce skimmed the surface, not feeling like actually going ito the water and lost a little bit of time when Lamia came up, but not much.

Zaphyr stayed as close behind the green as he could, so far as to follow her into the water. As he emerged from the water, he went into showoff mode, going into a corkscrew behind her. He stayed on her tail, so to speak, keeping alert for the right time for his dive to catch her. This green would be his even if he had to resort to tricks to get her.

Droplets of water sparkled off of Lamia's dark wings as she flapped them harder, trying to make up for the lost height. Her shoulders were beginning to ache a little, and she could feel her energy flagging. The trick had cost her energy, but it was worth it.
Beating her wings, she sped up a little, going for a final sprint.

Azure sensed that the endgame was dangerously close, and that he could not allow himself to be left behind now.
The blue summoned up all of his reserves of energy, his wingshoulders burning, the air hot in his lungs, but the prize...the prize would be worth it, if he could just get her in his talons, his tail, with enough energy left to support them both...yes, he could do it. She would be his, she and the eggs she promised.
