Physical Appearance: Short shaggy brown hair with pale green, almost brown, eyes. Very tanned skin. Parrin is gangly and somewhat rugged looking. Calloused hands from working in the field when he was a child.
Personality: Parrin is smart and funny. He is loyal to those he cares about and he will defend those he loves with his life. All his life Parrin has dreamed of being a dragonrider. Parrin loves the two "Weyrleader" type dragons, brown and bronze. He has seen a Hatching before and he knows that Browns can try to mate with the Queen if they so wish, but they don't always do so.
Parrin is gentle and very caring. You will usually find him looking after dragons, Runnerbeasts, and other animals found on Pern. Parrin hates in when one of these creatures is treated cruelly. Parrin especially loves his siblings and he does all he can to provide for them. Even though Kyra and Jorin are several years older then Parrin, he still takes care of them. Parrin often wishes he knew his real parents and he is thinking about finding them one day.
History: Parrin was found abondened when he was two years old. His foster mother, Ivva, took him home and her family took to the little boy at once. Kyra and Jorin were glad to have a new brother even though their new brother was not their blood brother. Ivva's husband, Morran, took turns looking after their newfound son. There had only been one thing with the boy when he was found.... Parrin.
Ivva and Morran kept the name for their fosterling and raised him as one of their own. Parrin grew up well fed and happy. When he was eight he saw his first Hatching. When he saw Bronzes and Browns appear he was amazed at how gorgeous they were. He vowed that he would try to be a Candidate and be Searched one day by the dragons.
When Parrin was fourteen a disease swept through Parrin's home. All in his family got sick, but only Parrin and his foster siblings survived. After that they picked themselves up and went on with their lives. When Kyra was seventeen she was Searched, but she failed in Impressing a Queen. One that very same day Jorin also failed at Impressing a dragon. Now it is Parrin's turn and all three siblings hope that he is Searched and Impresses to a good dragon.
