OOC: Due to the situation with Zenniel, I'm having this Hatching take place before Haith's.
Reinth had guarded her single egg as if it was a clutch of forty, and Tirlynna was quite tired of being sands bound. Well, at least it would not be that often. Reinth had flown late, given her rapid maturity. Hopefully she would also fly seldom.
Now, the rainbow nudged at the egg again, starting to turn it over. It rocked back to its previous position.
Reinth stared at it, then Itmoved!
"You know what we have to do about that," Tirlynna quipped.
The only answer from her dragon was a hum, rapidly picked up by the firelizards. What, exactly, would come out of this egg?
Tirlynna had her suspicions. She turned towards the door from which the Candidates would emerge, moving back and away from the egg.
One egg. One dragon. Who would be the luckiest of all?

Kyrian heard the hum of dragon AND firelizards. He'd hadn't known that to happen before, but then he didn't really have much experience at hatchings of any kind. He rushed to his room and changed into the white robe that had been hanging on his door. Then, with Zaphyr on his shoulder, he rushed towards the hatching grounds. He slowed at the entrance, walking in calmly and confidently, Zaphyr flew off his shooulder to perch on a ledge as he joined in the humming. Kyrian bowed to the rainbow dragon and it's rider, before taking his place.
Lysita had been in the dining hall getting something to eat when she heard the humming. Oh shards, that meant a hatching, yet the humming wasn't quite as intense as a large scale hatching. She wondered why that was as she ran to her room, scrambling to change into the robe before heading back out the door. It wasn't everyday you got to stand at a hatching. When she entered the hatching grounds she dropped a curtsey to the lovely rainbow dragon and smiled at it's rider. "A wonderful day for it to hatch." She said as she moved to take her place.

Tierelm followed the two candidates towards the Hatching Grounds, then went up to the Stands with a nod of greeting at the Rainbow rider. He was carrying his Healer's bag. No one knew what would come out of the single egg, and he wanted to be there in case the hatchling was sick or weak.
Not only that, but Tierelm wanted to see the Hatching. He had never seen a dragon hatch before, and with only one egg, he would be able to study the process closely.

Parrin was excited. This egg was about to hatch and there was only one chance here. The Queen, Reinth, only had one egg and only one Candidate would be lucky to Impress. Parrin dressed in his white robe and joined the other Candidates on the sands. The young boy stared at the egg as it shook. With his shaggy brown shining like dark fire, Parrin stared at his siblings who were standing at the side. Kyra smiled and lifted two thumbs while Jorin stood there crossing his fingers. He wanted his younger brother to Impress as much as Parrin wanted to Impress.
Parrin smiled back at his siblings and turned back to the single egg. He closed his eyes and whispered, "I hope to Impress you. All dragons are magnificant to me. You are no different. Please let me Impress you dear dragon." Parrin kept his eyes closed as his hand closed around the food that he held. He knew that if he did Impress then he would have to feed the dragon until all the food was gone. Suddenly Parrin felt something trickled down his lip. He opened his eyes and felt his mouth. When he pulled his hand away from his face he saw that there was blood.
Parrin then guessed that he bit his lip so hard that the blood trickled down his lip and chin. He sighed and waited patiently. He knew it was the dragon's choice on who would ride it. Parrin might Impress, but then again he may not.

And with only one egg, it could not, surely, take long...
Sick or weak? That might be a concern, looking at the dam, smaller than any green, no larger than the white dragon. Probably, she had only had space within her for this one egg. Reinth...hummed. Thrumming, gentle, her rider resting one hand on her. The hum seemed to go through Tirlynna.
And then...then it cracked.
A gold nose poked out...no, surely not! Surely...and then the truth was revealed a bare moment later as the knuckle of a green wing also showed into the light, and finally the rest of the dragonet. Gold head, brown neck and shoulders, green wings, bronze tail and hindquarters. A rainbow, perhaps the thing anyone would have most expected to hatch from a rainbow's sole egg.
The gold head turned to face Reinth and Tirlynna. It sort of chirruped, and then. Oh, yes. It was supposed to do something with these figures in white...

OCC: I know I don't have candidate, but to keep this hacthing longer I decided to throw in Bamre wacthing the hacthing.
Bamre was half asleep at this moment, in the weyr him and the rainbow rider shared. It was getting around the time when he would normal go see how Renith and the egg where doing, when he was sudden awoken by Purth nudging him out of the bed saying Wake up Mine. Reinth's egg is hacthing. The white's words got his rider moving pretty fast as he made himself look presentable and then him, Purth and his fair quickly headed to the hacthing sands.
When they reached it Bamre saw that the egg had hacthed and as expected what came forth form it was a single rainbow. Bamre quickly waved his hand in a single for his fair to scatter, which made all of them fly up and purch on various leadges around the hacthing sands. There humming was added in to the rest. Bamre and Purth quickly moved in a round-about way so as not to get near the new hacthling over to where Tirlynna and Reinth were. Purth took up the spot, close to Renith, that Holath would be in had the white not already beat him to it. While Bamre went to stand beside his weyrmate. Taking her hand softly into his own he wishpered to her proudly " It looks like Reinth's egg hacthed us another healthy rainbow." A soft smile crossed his face as he said this.

Parrin fell in love with the dragonet and he held his hand out slowly so it could catch his scent and that he meant no harm. He whispered to the dragonet the whole to keep it from being frightened. "It's ok little one. No one is here to frighten you. My what gorgeous colors you have. You sport those colors with pride you hear. Let no one tell you otherwise. If I Impress you or not I will still think of you as a magnificant creature. Have a full and long life with your Rider." He didn't want to force the dragonet to pick him. The boy had been telling the truth. The dragonet was a gorgeous creature and it should sport its colors off with pride and not to let others tell it otherwise.

Kyrian gasped as he saw a gold head poking out of the egg, and his heart fell. He wouldn't impress at this hatching after all. Then a green wing, did that mean a rainbow? Then as the rest of the body emerged, he realized that it was. Perhaps he had a chance after all.
Lysita saw the golden head and her heart swelled but then she noticed the green wings and the rest. Oh Faranth. It is a rainbow. She thought with wonder as she watched the little dragonet. She looked around and noticed that there weren't many candidates here, that would make the decision easier on the dragonet, wouldn't it? She thought it might, but there was the possibility that the right person wasn't here.

The rainbow hatchling looked up at its mother again. Then it padded towards the candidates. Very carefully, the tiny dragonet studied each one, not, it seemed, one to make its decision in any kind of a hurry.
First, it sniffed at Lysita, then seemed to snort, as if something about the girl was deeply unsatisfactory. It examined two more of the girls, then sat on its haunches. Oh, wait, more over there. Slowly, the rainbow padded over to the boys. Studying a huge Smithcraft boy, one could almost hear the dragon thinking 'too large'. Then, it looked at Parrin. Carefully, it observed him...then, perhaps breaking his heart, moved on.
Finally, it stopped before Kyrian. This one felt right, this one fit. I am Lesoroth. You are mine now. And the voice was most, distinctly, male.
Dragon name: Lesoroth Color: Rainbow (male) Rider: K'rian Color code: Gold bronze brown blue green
Appearance:
Lesoroth is on the large size for a rainbow, but still extremely small. He has a gold head, brown neck and shoulders, green wings, blue forepaws and a bronze tail and hindquarters. His wings are long for his size, he is a very fast sprinter, but not quite as agile as the other small dragons...he has a little more stamina, however, and a slightly larger flame.
Personality:
Lesoroth is quite a thoughtful dragon, he is not reckless and can even be a little cautious at times. He is, however, a playful dragon, as long as the play is never anything that might, remotely, hurt anyone. He enjoys going flying for the sake of it, particularly with company...especially female company. Yes, he's a bit of a flirt, although he sticks to the smaller females...rainbows, greens, maybe sapphires. He prefers, in general, the company of smaller dragons to larger. He is, though, generally friendly to humans. Firelizards, he rather considers 'playthings'...he would never hurt one, but chase it? Sure.
OOC: I really truly wish I had a dragon for Perrin too. It was an extremely difficult choice. I am going to try and work on something.

Lysita held her breath as the dragonet came over and sniffed at her, feeling a little disheartened when it snorted and walked off. Obviously it didn't find her worthy but she didn't let herself be too sad as she knew there would be other hatchings.
Kyrian watched the dragonet as it sniffed at each person, first in the female line, then the male. Finally it came to him and it actually stopped, it didn't move on, then it happened. I am Lesoroth. You are mine now. Kyrian's mouth dropped open in shocked surprise, Zaphyr leant forward and down to get a better look at the thing that had approached his pet. Lesoroth took a sniff at the thing perched on his chosen's shoulder. You have one of those things?
That broke Kyrian out of his surprised stupor and he smiled down at his dragonet. "Yes I do Lesoroth. His name is Zaphyr." He answered smoothly and laid a hand on the rainbow's shoulder. "Come on now. I am sure you are hungry." He said as he started to move off. Yes very hungry. Lesoroth responded as he followed beside his chosen.

Parrin turned to K'rian and said, "Congratulations. Keep telling your dragon that it is magnificant." Parrin turned away before the tears fell and he left the Hatching Grounds with his siblings in tow. Parrin got to his room and told his siblings to leave him alone. When the boy was finally alone he let the tears come. He had failed liked his siblings had when they tried to Impress. He was 16 and he had two years left, but he didn't know when the next Hatching would be. "Please let me Impress a dragon," he whispered to the sky and fell asleep on his bed. He would have to leave soon to find another hatching to try and Impress again.
