M'kar sat on the edge of the lake, his feet trailing in the shadows. Half in, half out of the water, Fioreth lay nearby, his head close to his rider, his tail forming a snake shape along the beach.
He might only be the size of a green, but the rather spectacular colored fire dragon stood out quite a bit more than most of them. Most. A couple were brighter than he, and the rainbows, of course, were even more brilliant.
M'kar had expected a green. He had got this. Now, the question was, what did he do now? The dragon had grown well, but he was...he almost wished Thread would come back, then he would not wonder if he was training for a reason, or if...
...but then, what better did he have to do.
"I guess it'll all work out, right, Fioreth?" The red-gold dragon rumbled and shifted position so his head was right next to M'kar.
The young man laughed and reached out to rub the nearest eye-ridge. "Yeah."

A certian dragon came floating down to the lake, though his arrival was hearlded by the arrival of nine firelizards, half of whom landed on Fioreth and the other half landed on M'kar. Then at the edge of the lake touched down the stunning form of the white dragon. Though M'kar would quickly notice that the rider on the back of the white dragon was not the more built form of Bamre, but it was the more slim form of his younger brother And'l. The white dragon wanted to get Bamre's younger brother out and so had gotten the young man to come down the lake to bathe him. That was when the white dragon saw the other rider and his dragon.
It was the instant that Purth saw them, that And'l did too. He quickly tried to hide behind Purth's wing, only to find it that the white dragon wrapped it around him, and with a soft croon said, I will give you a few mintues, but it is going to be hard for you to bathe me, if you are hiding. The white softly nuzzled the shy blue rider, and was gald that Hexeth was not around to carry And'l back to his weyr. After a few mintues Purth slowly unfurled his wing and the pair began to walk in M'kar's direction.
And'l though stopped next to the fire dragon curiously, he had yet to talk to this dragon. He reached out and ran his hand over the young dragons eyerigdes with a soft smile, "So Fioreth how are you today." The blue rider was wearing his swimming colthes so that he could clean the white dragon, though at this moment seemed to be focused on the fire dragon than talking to M'kar. Purth let out the dragon version of a sigh and then turned to M'kar and said, So how are you today M'kar. I hope that you are doing well. Leaf sat on And'l's shoulders chirping curiously at Fioreth.

M'kar grinned. "You and Bamre trading dragons?"
It was, of course, a joke, no such thing could possibly be imagined. But it did seem, sometimes, as if one saw Bamre with Hexeth and And'l with Purth a fair amount.
Fioreth crooned at And'l and Purth, but was apparently far too relaxed to actually say anything. But mmm. Eyeridge scritches.
The contrast in color between the two was remarkable, M'kar thought, but then he realized Purth was saying something to him.
"We're both fine, Purth. I'm surprised you don't have more firelizards on you." Where was Bamre's fair? He had more flits than anyone in the Weyr, most likely because the white dragon attracted them.
He was personally glad not to be the white rider...but then, so far, Fioreth was unique as well. Unique, but rather more...normal, at least in M'kar's mind. Just a small male dragon.

(I want it to be a supirse. So please keep the reveling down to a minimum. ) And'l was about to turn and talk to M'kar when a voice yelled into his head, MINE WERE ARE YOU? I NEED A BATH! And'l sighed at the annoyed voice of Hexeth. The blue had been acting so odd lately, sinice that day that him and Uu'ian had that talk. He did not really understand it at all, yet he figured that maybe Hexeth was just going through a stage, and was acting moody. He figured with as close as he was to Tombath, maybe he was getting jealous of the golds who could be flown by the bronze. Though if one thought about it. The blue was closer to the bronze than any gold had ever been, especially with the way they had been curled up together so much, and recently in a more intamite fashion. And'l would not be supirsed if the blue really did attempt to fly, just to get Tombath to chase him. He really needed to find a green to distract the blue, he planned on asking Purth to talk to Reinth and maybe she would be willing to at least flirt with Hexeth. A shadow soon desended over them, as the moddy blue landed down next to the pair of humans and dragons. As he stomped up to his bonded and M'kar saying, And'l I need a bath. I need to keep my hide all nice and shiny. M'kar you are going to help him. Purth looked at the blue with a confused warble, and turned to And'l, What is wrong with Hexeth. He is acting quite strange. I have never heard him act bossy before. Nor unshy ethier. The white dragon inculded the fire rider in this statment so the other male could give his opintion to. And'l just simply shrugged and with a softly smile he looked up at Hexeth and siad, "Alright fine, just get in the water. I will be back in a bit." With that And'l dissapered and came back for the stuff to clean the blue dragon with. Though Hexeth did not really look like he needed that much cleaning. He looked over at M'kar and said, "Uhh sorry about that, he has been acting strange lately, you don't mind helping me do you. I don't want to make him any more annoyed or he might act like a weyrling and throw a temper tanturm and we will need to find Tombath." The only dragon besides a gold that could get the blue out of his bad mood, Hexeth looked at And'l and snorted, I am not acting like weyrling thank you very much. It is just my bath time. I have to keep myself looked pretty you know. And'l looked at M'kar and shrugged again.

M'kar just kinda peered at Hexeth. "Hexeth, okay, who is she?"
Of course, those words would only make And'l even more flustered...but M'kar was assuming that Hexeth had his eye on a green...or a sapphire, maybe? Or maybe even one of the rainbows. Why else would a male dragon want to look pretty?
Fioreth cracked open a lid at Hexeth. You should ask before borrowing my rider the fire dragon teased, although his tone was pretty light.
He was clearly not actually upset, although that might have been as much because he was already well and truly clean as anything else. He didn't need M'kar right now, so Hexeth could borrow him. He was just supposed to ask first!

Hexeth looked at the firerider as he enter the water with a annoyed sound in his voice, Who said I needed some silly green to give me a reason to look pretty. I will do so becuase I need to. The more my scales shine, the better I look and the more handsome I will look. He settle down into the water with a almost impainet huff.
It supirsingly did not bother And'l one little bit. And'l shook his head and looked at M'kar, "Bad question M'kar. Trust me, the answer is not what you think it is. Let's just say I know exactlly why he wants to look handsome, and by this point it has gotten so strange that even I don't fully understand what is going on in his head. So I have just learned to appease him and wait until this phase blows over. Yet long story short let's just say that I think it has alot to do with my weyrmates dragon." And'l did not say anymore than that as he headed over to clean the blue.
Hexeth looked at the firerider and said, Well are you coming or not. Purth had curled up in the sand beside Fioreth, then white had given up getting a bath in the face of the moody blue. He figrued that it would be best to wait until Bamre had some free time, he asked Fioreth, What do you think is wrong with Hexeth? Even the white who like the blue always seemed so insightful was confused.

Great.
Only And'l could end up with a dragon quite that crazy. They were all nuts, M'kar thought, wryly.
Of course, And'l was with the only gay bronzerider M'kar had ever heard of, so maybe it was the same something in the air that made dragons like Fioreth.
Yeah. Allride was the Insane Weyr. But it was much better to be that way than completely hidebound. M'kar rolled his eyes at Hexeth. "Shards, blue, I've already cleaned one dragon today."
To which the obvious answer was to point out that Fioreth was quite the *small* dragon. Certainly not of equal size with Hexeth himself.
