Kelyna hated this part of being weyrwoman, teaching the gold weyrling lesson...
Malaracyth was going to help, so it would be better... She just wasn't a natural teacher. She could be bossy at times, but that didn't mean that she was an amazing and awesome teacher, in truth, she had no clue what she was doing even though she had done this before, and her mind was circling around and around on this in a rudandant way.
Well Malaracyth, I am as ready as I will ever be. Guess you should call in the candidate before I chicken out
Mine, when you get going you aren't that bad, and you always worry about this, just relax, take a deep breath, and you would never chicken out of anything.
Then, she called to Kellerth, Mine is ready for you and yours

With Kellerth full grown but the pair not yet graduate, Lysita had been waiting for these lessons. Lessons specifically for golds and their riders, ones that would be useful during threadfall or for leading the weyr if she became weyrwoman by some chance.
Lysitamine! Malaracyth has called for us. The pale gold told the girl as she gently blew out air in her face. Lysita smiled and laid a hand on the supple hide of the large muzzled. "Then we need to go and find out what we shall be learning today dearheart." Lysita replied with a happy note in her voice before climbing onto Kellerth's back, deftly securing herself with the straps.
"Off we go then." She urged Kellerth, who gracefully pushed off into the air and glided the short distance to the weyrwoman's ledge. She backwinged and landed lightly, crouching to aid Lysita is dismounting, the girl making quick work of removing the straps. She easy dismounted, the practice during the lessons before proving their worth. She gave a nod and smile to Malaracyth as she calmly walked across the ledge and into the weyr. "I am here weyrwoman Kelyna." She said softly, announcing herself as she came into view.

"Hello Lysita, today our lesson will be on use of flame throwers while flying on a gold at the lower level that gold's fly at. I have been researching this information and practicing myself so that when thread comes, we golds can also fly," Kelyna spoke to the girl, a slight smile playing on her face at the thought of all the work that she went through to research golds fighting thread.
Malaracyth then spoke to Kellerth, First mine will demonstrate, then she will work with you, then you will practice.
Kelyna then picked up the flame thrower at her feet. She had managed to find an old model and a Smith had made her more for her "obsession" as he called it, but she was a gold and he had followed her orders. At least dragonriders still had a rank on Pern.
Quickly she jumped on Malaracyth, making sure to not point the nozzle at Malaracyth and said, "When you mount, you never point the nozzel at you dragon incase of an accident."

Lysita raised her eyebrows at the mention of flame throwers and flying in threadfall. That had never occured to her before, she knew golds could be useful for dealing with injured dragons but had thought that was it. Now this, finding out that Golds indeed flew in a wing during threadfall.
Kellerth, pale gold though she was, was still a gold and didn't think of another gold speaking to her the way some other colours might. In fact, she was all for making friends no matter which colour, Malaracyth being a gold merely made it seem more normal. Practice is always good. Even if it is not needed, it will be good to know. Kellerth replied as she kept an eye on the doorway into the inside weyr room.
Lysita nodded at the information Kelyna told her, knowing that the skill would be useful if Thread did fall again as some people were saying. She watched as the weyrwoman mounted, watching how she positioned the machine both while getting on and once there. "Oh. We wouldn't want any accidents." She said with a hint of laughter, even though she knew this was a serious lesson.
