Geisteth was a little...ill at ease lately. Aphrodie had left her dragon sunning on the ledge, and taken herself out into the bowl. There, she was mending her flight leathers.
She was not lonely. She had Geisteth, she had her firelizards. She could never be lonely.
Yet, Ocean's recent behavior had left her again aware of what was missing from her life. But none of the riders really...fit. She liked J'tor, but not in that way. M'kar did not do women. Neither did And'l, Uu'ian...sometimes she felt as if she was surrounded by cute gay guys!
But no, she was not...not...lonely. Geisteth would fly soon, and she wondered who would fly her.
Probably one of the cute gay guys, knowing her recent luck.

((YAY. A chance to play T'noi.))
T'noi had started to feel weary about the constant lessons, even though he knew they were neccessary. That didn't stop him wishing they had graduated already.
Now he was wandering the weyrbowl, looking kind of forlorn as he walked, no ambled. He was not all that happy, even though he had Teal'cth but the brown hardly ever spoke. That was also starting to wear him down.
He didn't even have a firelizard like most of the other weyrlings or riders. Nothing to amuse him and break the enforced silence when it was just him and Teal'cth. The brown was currently curled up on his couch in the weyrling barracks.
So there he was, walking through the weyrbowl with his shoulders slumped and a look of utter loneliness. He wondered when, or even if, Teal'cth would chase his first female. There were plenty of them about and possibly one or two even getting proddy.
He found a large, flattish boulder and sat on it, letting out a sigh. Would he ever know how if felt to hold a female form in his arms? To be so in love that he would do anything for her?

"You sound about how I feel," came a female voice from nearby.
Aphrodie checked the knot. A weyrling, but his dragon had to be close enough to mature by now. Geisteth would fly soon and the weyrling males might chase. Well, some of them.
No male could keep up with every female in the Weyr, and some were picky. Kilith, for example, almost never stirred after any female other than Malaracyth.
Maybe they were in love. The bronze had flown the senior gold three times now, and sometimes dragons did pair off like that. It was rare, but it happened. "Sorry. Aphrodie, copper Geisteth."
Copper. She still, some days, could not believe she had got exactly the kind of dragon she had wanted.

T'noi turned his head to see a young woman walking towards him, she must have been close to start with to hear him.
"That may be true." He replied with a half smile, patting the boulder beside him.
"Why don't you sit down." He suggested, moving over a little to make more room.
He smiled more when she introduced not only herself but her dragon as well.
"T'noi, Brown Teal'cth." He replied with his own introductions, even though neither dragon was in sight. Although he thought that might soon change, as he felt the stirring of the brown in his mind.
So she was a rider of one of the female browns, that was how some people saw them. Perhaps Teal'cth might even chase the copper when she rose, even though he had no idea when that would be.

Aphrodie moved to sit down, quite gracefully. Geisteth was still on her ledge, only her tailtip stirring.
She was dreaming, it seemed, deep in sleep for right now, the barest of presences in her rider's mind.
"When do you graduate?"
She knew the weyrlings were old enough to chase, but could not remember how long graduation came after that. Never mind that it had not been that long ago.
Perhaps she was simply forgetful. Maybe she caught it from her dragon...the young copper often had to be reminded of something that had happened only the day before.
Only repetition caused things to stick in a dragon's mind.
