Uu’ian would be hard pressed to say what time of day it was, or even what day it was, he wasn’t even sure if he’d been sleeping or not, all he knew was that he was happy. Excessively so, and in spite of a deep core of weariness and various aches and pains that were queuing up to make themselves known now that he was thinking again. His emotional euphoria even surpassed the greatest mystery of all. He’d have to ask And’l about that later.
That thought inspired Uu’ian to open his eyes and check that the body he was so closely entwined with was really that of his weyrmate. He would have liked to think he wouldn’t be found like this with anyone else but the loss of control inherent in dragon Flights made him nervous. It was with relief that he saw the familiar sight of And’l’s shoulder, neck, and hair before his eyes, though faint shame caused him to blush at the sight of a large bitemark on his mate’s pale skin. Proof, if such was needed, that Uu’ian hadn’t been himself…
Uu’ian’s thoughts drifted peacefully onward as the bronzerider shifted and snuggled against And’l. What exactly was going on here anyway? Thanks to Tombath’s experience Uu’ian was now pretty sure Hexeth was female, but that only raised more questions, such as why didn’t one of them say, And’l had even had the perfect chance the day after Malaracyth’s Flight when Uu’ian had asked if he was sure both their dragons were male. At least that did explain everything that had been going on for the last few weeks, Tombath’s constant posing, the way the bronze had been wrapping himself around the blue even when it was just the four of them alone in their weyr, even the purple shades that occasionally slid over Hexeth’s eyes when such behaviours were displayed. Tombath had been courting Hexeth and hadn’t even really known it. Well it was mystery Uu’ian intended to get to the bottom of soon. He looked at And’l again, then shrugged, using the movement to wriggle even closer, fairly soon anyway.

And'l felt like he was in a euphrioic state, as he layed there under the furs in what to him was a very fimilar set of arms. His thought process at the moment as he slowly awoke and his breathing came back to normal ended with just that. That he was in Uu'ian's arms, and it was not someone else who was sleeping with him in his weyr. The movement of the bronzerider to cuddle closer to him brought a soft smile to And'l's face sinice he knew that the other male was also awake. Though at this moment all he really wanted to do was to just bask in this moment of peace that they had together, but still somthing kept tugging at his mind. Then he remembered very quickly what it was. They where cuddled up like this becuase Hexeth had flown. He knew now that his darling blue a female, yet it still seemed to escape even him how form all this time spent together that he would not have noticed. Well maybe that was a good reason to start some talking.
He waited a few mintues though before he softly turned over in the others arms, and wrapped his arms around Uu'ian, "Good morning love." Where the words that left his lips before he planted a soft kiss on those of his lovers. There was almost a dreamy look in And'l's eyes, becuase the was one very happy thought at the back of his mind which told him that he and Uu'ian would hopefully never have to worry about flights again. Hexeth seemed like to shy of a dragon and too attached to her brother to let anyone else cacth her. At least that was the way it looked in And'l's mind anyway, "So are you having as wonderful a morning as I am?"
Hexeth who found himself in a very familar postion with her brother cuddled up around her. The blue dragon could sense her bonded's awoken state, and this had help to pull her awake as well. She wacthed And'l and Uu'ian. Though said nothing to ethier of them. The only indication that she was awake was a soft croon that she gave her brother as he softly nuzzled the top of the bronze dragon's head. Even going so far as to give it a soft lick to try and maybe bring the larger dragon awake as well.

Uu’ian grumbled softly as And’l wriggled around, not because he particularly objected to the movement, but just because he knew it signalled the end of his idle snuggling up with weyrmate. Despite this he insistently tried to answer And’l with a soft, incoherent murmur and bury his face against his lover’s chest.
‘Is it still morning?’ Uu’ian asked vaguely, trying to get his mind back to a one to one relationship with the world, despite his facetious question, the bronzerider’s mouth did twitch into a smile. ‘It’s been pretty good so far, although it did start far too early, and it has been rather confusing. I think the benefits outweigh that though.’ Uu’ian ran his fingers teasingly along And’l’s side, with a positively wicked gleam in his eyes.
Hexeth’s soft croon to Tombath distracted Uu’ian from what he so clearly had in mind, so much so that he actually pulled away from And’l and propped himself up on one elbow to look over at the pair of dragons, who’d evidently made it back to their weyr while their riders were otherwise occupied. ‘I realise this might not be the best time to ask this question,’ He said, focusing on And’l with a more serious gaze than before, ‘but why didn’t you just tell us that we had it wrong? It really would have made so much more sense of everything that’s been going on recently.’
Tombath opened the eye nearest to Hexeth slowly, each lid peeling back separately until the peacefully contented eye colours became clear. His blue. Tombath’s tail snaked around and curled around as much of Hexeth as possible, it was clear that the bronze was feeling possessive over his mate. There was something he thought he ought to be confused about but that could wait moment. After all, when was his Hexeth not confusing? The bronze lifted his head and nuzzled the blue neck in a silent gesture of affection.

And'l smiled softly at the mumbling sounds that the other male was making as Uu'ian snuggled closer to him. He softly ran his hand through the others hair as the blue rider relaxed content to wait and let Uu'ian break up the moment of cuddling for a moment, though the question that was asked, actully made And'l pause in his answer as he thought for a moment and came to a suprising conclusion, "I think it is morning of the next day love." Form what And'l could remember anyway, they had been busy all day yesterday and had slept through the night. The thought made And'l blush which showed up on his pale skin, yet he attributed it the affects of the flight, that caused there activites to last longer than normal. Yet these thoughts flowed not form And'l, but form Hexeth. And'l had been to distracted to remember anything.
And'l's eyes did not share the gleam of the other male, but the wicked smile on his face showed they where thinking the same thing, as And'l softly pulled Uu'ian closer, only to be dissapointed when the other pulled away. And'l made a fake pount and a whine of dissappointment, but the look that had crossed the bronzerider's face while looking at Hexeth brought And'l into a more serious line of thought too. The shappire rider sat up in bed and followed Uu'ian's line of sight to the two dragons as he commented, "I didn't know ethier. Hexeth has always told me that she was a blue. If I knew I would have warned you." And'l was scrathing his head, obviously just as confused as his weyrmate, "You have heard him speak to you. He does not sound like a girl." Hexeth's voice had only recent taken on femine undertones, though the masculine ones where still there.
The blue dragons voice quickly intruppted any line of thought that And'l or Uu'ian might have been on, as the shappire said to them both, What are you two talking about. I am a blue, I am not a female. I am male dragon. You two have been acting like wherry heads about it. I am a blue, and I had a flight what are you two so confused about. A confused warble even came form the shappire, showing her obvious confusion. The blue crooned softly and drap his neck over that of the bronze, and said to him I think our bonded are acting strange. What do you think Tombath. The shappire had always found that the bronze was a little like her rider in that he was willing to say what needed to be said. No matter what.

The morning of the next day? As in they spent a whole day and night in bed? Uu’ian blinked and tried to sort out his perception of time, an activity that seemed fairly pointless. What he could recall of the last –however long it was- made him blush slightly. Well if that was how they’d spent so much time Uu’ian wasn’t really surprised at sleeping so long.
Uu’ian focused on Hexeth, he had to admit the blue/sapphire didn’t sound female at all usually and didn’t even look feminine when compared to other sapphires, most of them were significantly delicate and dainty compared to blues but not Hexeth, he fitted in with the blues much better, seeming to only be small, no cause to doubt what she said he was on that score.
Hexeth himself, or herself, he was having trouble deciding which pronoun to use now, broke Uu’ian’s line of thought before it got any further than that. Surely Hexeth had to realise that his last statement was a great contradiction, males didn’t fly, therefore Hexeth must be female, except she didn’t seem to think so.
Tombath was silent for a moment, his talons flexing as he considered the matter. He was fairly certain that Hexeth was, in fact, female by this point. But she seemed equally certain that she was not. Well it’s not every day a blue dragon Rises. He commented. I can understand their confusion. You’re still my favourite dragon. I do wish you’d said you were going to Fly though, I could have courted you properly.

Hexeth considered the words of the blue for a moment, though this time when he spoke his voice had taken on the feminine undertones that had been in it during the flight. It seemed that how she was going to speak was just another thing that the blue seemed confused with. Though the words of his brother made a rumble of laughter come from his throat, Yes I guess that could be true, but with all the other things happening around this weyr. I don't really see why they are surprised. Though Hexeth was sure that they would eventually get used to it. At least this way, he would not have to worry about flights when it came to And'l and Uu'ian.
Though the last comment of her brother make her look at him for a moment as a dragon version of a sigh came from the blue before nuzzling the bronze affectionately, before curling up and moving closer so that it would easier for the bronze to curl further around him, Tombath, ever sense we where young you have taken care of me, and where always there when I needed you. You hid me whenever I needed it, and never asked for anything back. In my opinion, there could have been no courting that would have been more proper. The sapphire’s words may have been a little sappy, but it was just another thing she learned from And’l. Though she added with a teasing voice before her attention was turned back to the two confused human, Yet I promise, that next time I will give you plenty of warning.
She spoke again to the pair in a voice that was unmistakably that of a female dragon, What is wrong Mine? Uu'ian? Have stolen one or both of your tongues? The sapphire let out a rumble of laughter as she spoke, and form the look on And'l's face this was exactly the case with him, because he had been in the throes of flight lust when he had last heard the female voice fill his head. So naturally it caught him off guard. He looked towards Uu'ian with a confused look obvious seeking something in the way of guidance. It could be expected form a rider who had only ever heard the male voice of his blue dragon, now suddenly being changed to that of a female voice.

Tombath flexed his claws again idly, rather interested in the scratchy little sound that this produced. He wasn’t so sure Hexeth had a point, although it was said that many strange things happened around here Tombath had yet to see anything more strange than the current situation. He didn’t want upset Hexeth by just blurting out his thoughts, that kind of thing was Uu’ian’s speciality, it was clear that this matter would need some careful phrasing. This is new, it has never been heard of before. They just need some time to get used to it. That was certainly true, and their riders weren’t the only ones who were confused. Even Hexeth seemed a little confused.
Tombath snorted softly and pushed at Hexeth’s shoulder with his head, though he was a vain creature he was slightly embarrassed by Hexeth’s words, he could see now why Uu’ian felt awkward when And’l said such things to him. I was looking after my brother then, not courting my mate. Besides what could I ask for? I am a little too big to hide behind you. the bronze retorted, though his tone was tolerant, as long as he got a little warning next time he didn’t mind, but now he’d won Hexeth the bronze intended to work hard to keep her.
Uu’ian returned And’l’s look with a blank look of his own, he was glad he wasn’t the only one who felt this way, it was one thing to find you’d been wrong about something, a bit of confusion was probably going to occur at some point now that a dragon’s colour didn’t always indicate gender but this was more than a little extreme. Although Hexeth was insisting that she was a blue, her voice had subtly altered as she spoke changing from masculine to femine as if she herself could not quite decide which she should sound like. ‘I suppose this is going to take some time to get used to.’ Uu’ian said aloud, although just who he was talking to wasn’t clear. He was looking at the dragons but his free arm had snaked around so he could take one of And’l’s hands in his.

And'l looked over at his weyrmate and smiled softly and squezzed his hand gently before scooting closer and letting go of the bronzeriders hand and wrapped his arm around Uu'ian's waist. And'l let out a soft sigh and rested his head on the shoulder of the other male and said softly in agreement, "Yeah I think we will all have to get used to. Though there is a sliver lining to this cloud. Now Tombath can always chase Hexeth and we don't have to worry about accdenitly waking up in someone else's weyr." With as close as the two dragons where, Andol assumed that they would just stick with each other. At least that was what he was feeling form Hexeth.
Hexeth looked at Tombath curiously. She knew that her brother was right, it was quite odd. And'l seemed to have been taken by supirsed. Even she had been taken by supirsed, and at this moment she was still a little confused, Yes I guess your right. We will all have to get used to it, though I don't think we have to worry about to much. The flight is over and we have some time to figure things out before the next one. Though she did consider the next words of the bronze a moment before speaking, then a soft rumble of laugther came form her before she did, Well you could not have known I would fly. It was a supirse to all of us really, plus I was of the opintion that you had done plenty. You still did a good job of courting me without trying to. I prefer to be protected and hidden to a bunch of compliments. This was pretty much her giving Tombath the hint to keep doing what he always had, and he would be able to keep her esaily. Though a few compliments would not be too bad ethier. The Shappire then turned her eyes back to And'l and Uu'ian, waiting for a answer to her previous question.

Uu’ian leaned against And’l, apparently relaxed, however he was frowning slightly. And’l might be totally convinced that their dragons were made for each other, and Uu’ian had to admit that they did look it right now, but he could see a few problems. Like most female dragons were pretty fickle about their mates, and Tombath was still a bronze and would chase any queen that rose in his vicinity, unless Uu’ian took him somewhere else. Who knew what Hexeth would make of that…
Unusually for him Uu’ian managed to keep from blurting out his thoughts right off, he didn’t really want to contradict And’l’s statement right now, so he did one of the things he was best at and pushed the thought aside, ignoring it. As the disturbing thought left a more amusing one took it’s place, one he just had to share. ‘Well now I suppose people would be right to assume there’s something more than brotherly affection between those two.’ He said with a grin, referring to all the times he’d mused that Hexeth and Tombath looked more like mates than brothers. ‘I don’t know that they had to play into all those rumours though.’ He added.
Tombath rumbled softly and gave Hexeth another soft poke. I don’t think you should hide so much. He teased, totally uncurling his body from around his mate as he spoke. You are a lovely dragon, more people should see you. Tombath knew that would never happen of course shyness was something Hexeth had never grown out of.
Uu’ian wriggled a bit under hexeth’s gaze and returned it blankly. ‘Were you waiting for something Hexeth?’ of course he’d forgotten what Hexeth said, Uu’ian had been far more occupied with the other half of that starge pair.

And'l's thoughts where the oppisate of his weyrmate as he leaned aginst his weyrmate. He could not see any other dragon flying Hexeth, though this thought only came form the fact that Tombath was the dragon Hexeth care for most of all. As well as the only one he did not hide form, but instead actully came out of hiding to find. So And'l was really only thinking about what he hoped would always happy especially with the way he saw Hexeth act. Yet this was probably all wishful thinking of the part of the used to be cycnical And'l. Uu'ian was diffently having a good influance on And'l.
The shappire rider could only laugh at the statment that the other made, "Yes I guess it looks that way doesn't it. I wonder if it was us who planted the idea of fly into silly Hexeth's head." Just like the bronzerider, And'l more focused on his weyrmate than the two dragons. And'l did find it funny that when they had first said somthing about it Hexeth had scoffed at the idea and said that they where being silly, but now as he looked over at his dragon, thier the now Shappire dragon lay after just having had her first flight. Plus having been caught by her favorite dragon. And'l though was quickly distracted again by his weyrmate as he softly left a kiss on the other shoulder before travel upward towards the others neck with a trail of them. Lingering there for a moment with the soft kisses, the Shappire rider rested his head onto Uu'ians shoulder softly as he said affectionatly, "You know, I think your starting to rub off on me. Everytime I see you, you distract me as bad, as you get distracted by most other things." And'l was obviously teasing, as he spoke his affectionate compliment.
Hexeth seemed to grin as she looked at Uu'ian. Though it was really a more flashing of teeth, but the fact that she was girning was obvious, I just asked what was the reason for your stunned slience form beofre. Though the Shappire had already figured it out, the female voice still flowed through Uu'ian's head as she asked him the question. Though in a lot less joking form than she had before. Though that was when she found Tombath curling form around her, and his words actully brought out a statement form the blue dragon that sounded differnt than anything he had said before, You really think I am bueatiful Tombath. The Shappire seemed to be examining herself as she spoke, as though she making sure. Looking at each claw, and at her wings, You think maybe I should get out in the sun more so the other male's can admire me. Maybe I will do that some day. Though for the time being Tombath, I am all yours. It was obvious in the way she spoke, she still considered herself to be male, especially in the way she inculded herself among the other male dragons of the weyr.

‘Hrrm’ Uu’ian wriggled slightly against his weyrmate, his attention once again diverted from Hexeth. ‘I don’t think so, I suppose he –she-‘ Uu’ian shrugged slightly, indicating his confusion over exactly how he should be referring to Hexeth, ‘was going to Rise anyway eventually, regardless of what we thought on the matter.’ Once again Uu’ian shrugged, he was seriously confused, and he doubted And’l felt any better about the situation, in fact he was probably more confused. Uu’ian knew he’d feel terribly strange if Tombath had effectively changed gender.
Uu’ian tried to keep his line of thought going for a moment but And’l seemed to be determined to derail it entirely, and after he totally lost the thread of it twice the bronzerider was only too happy to give up and let his weyrmate distract him. ‘Well someone has to distract you.’ Uu’ian joked, wrapping his arms more tightly around And’l and pulling him closer. ‘It’s only payback for the all the distraction you provide for me after all.’
Uu’ian cast a mildly irritated look back at Hexeth, that was a distraction he could live without right now. ‘Well a blue dragon doesn’t often decide to Rise.’ Uu’ian pointed out, unconsciously echoing Tombath’s earlier statement. ‘I’m certainly confused, even if no one else is.’ It was probably one of those things that he’d just have to accept, but that didn’t stop Uu’ian from feeling a bit better for saying it. Then he pointedly turned away from the dragons and back to And’l, hoping in vain that they might get the hint. Uu’ian doubted it, Tombath had picked some very inconsiderate times to talk in the past and there was no reason for Hexeth not to follow this sterling example.
Tombath cast his gaze pointedly down Hexeth’s form from muzzle to tail; making it very clear with the faint purple shades that flashed through his eyes what he thought. Well yes, someone other than me and our riders need to see you occasionally. Tombath turned to run his muzzle down Hexeth’s neck affectionately, and then curled back up around her anyway. He just liked curling up with Hexeth.

And’l giggled softly as his weyrmate moved closer to him, and he soon found himself being pulled close to Uu’ian, “Yeah you are probably right, though on the same coin Tombath would eventually chase her when she did. I am glad that the two became so close. Do you remember that day back when Tombath began to start protecting Hexeth? When he walked form where he was sitting near you to hide Hexeth because he thought that she was being silly hiding behind me since I was too smile to hide behind.” He giggled softly as he spoke of the past softly, “They seemed to have been inseparable since.” In And’l’s mind this was the best part of the whole affair, since it took any worry about flights from And’l.
And’l sighed happily as he was pulled closer to Uu’ian, and rest a hand on the bronze rider’s other cheek to turn Uu’ian’s head in his direction so he could kiss the other for a moment, “I am glad that is you who is always distracting me.” He kept planting soft kisses on the other male’s neck and said softly, “I have always quite enjoyed your distractions.” And’l always found that his weyrmate knew how to make things better for him and to take his mind off of anything that was bothering him, which he needed right now because of what was going on with Hexeth. Though his attempts to derail any conversation they could have had where road blocked by his dragon who he now looked over at with a looked on his face that said, ‘Not now Hexeth’
Hexeth noticed the look that she was getting form her rider as her eyes flashed purple for a moment though went back to normal she said to And’l Sorry Mine, I will leave you two alone. She rumbled with laughter so that Uu’ian could get back to distracting her bonded. She then started speaking too Tombath, I think that I am disturbing ours when mine is trying to have another flight.’ Hexeth was not sure that was what was going on, yet she knew form what And’l was asking her, that she should probably not disturbed them. Which was fair, it was not like their riders where bothering them at the moment. The sapphire dragon at the moment then relaxed and her eyelids softly closed as she watched continued to watch. Though she softly crooned at Tombath’s words saying, ‘Yeah you are right.’ She then teased him saying, ‘Though you need to be careful or some other male just might swoop in and take me back to their weyr if I look too inviting.’ A soft rumble of laughter came from her as she poked at Tombath’s pride as a bronze to get a reaction.
(I left it open if you wanted to end with a fade to black moment or contiune the thread or whatever.)

Uu’ian nodded and smiled indulgently, he recalled that day quite well indeed. It was the first time he could remember Tombath doing something that wasn’t done purely to benefit Tombath, the first real sign of empathy for another creature the self centred weyrling dragon had shown, and it still made Uu’ian smile to think of it. ‘There is that.’ He agreed softly.
‘Hrrm distractions are good.’ Uu’ian agreed in a mumble as he tilted his head to the side to allow And’l greater freedom to land those teasing little kisses on his neck. ‘and sometimes not so good.’ He added ruefully, catching sight of the look his weyrmate was shooting at Hexeth. Apparently Hexeth was in a hint taking mood today, since no further comments followed, and the slight rumble of dragonish laughter that rolled around the room indicated that Hexeth had a fair idea of why she was being glared down. Ignoring the dragon laughter Uu’ian smiled and propped himself up on one elbow to run his fingers down And’l’s body. ‘Distracted now?’ he whispered teasingly.
Tombath’s expression was undeniably a grin as he looked over at the riders occupying the bed. It should have been impossible for a dragon to grin but Tombath’s gape jawed expression did very well, sadly it also made him look several dolphins short of a pod, so he quickly knocked it off lest he look stupid in front of Hexeth. I believe you are right The bronzes tone was shaded with amusement, so enthusiastic about their Flights these humans were.
I suppose if a another male lures you away from me I’ll have to engage him in a contest of wits so I can prove myself his better Tombath joked, winding his tail sinuously with Hexeth’s. Either that or I stand over him every moment to make sure he treats you well. the bronze added as he settled himself against Hexeth. What could be better than this?
((I do believe that finishes it up perfectly Yama. J))
