It was far too early for Tirlynna to want to be out and about.
One of the advantages of being a rainbowrider was that her sweeps were short. She seldom drew dawn sweeps.
Seldom was not never. She drank bitter klah in the dining room, really, really not wanting to go out to her dragon. Reinth was no happier with the situation, grumbling about her beauty sleep.
She seldom cared that much about her looks, but Tirlynna could not feel the tension that would have accompanied another flight.
Reinth did not fly often. She was probably as sensitive to the hormones of other clutching dragons as a queen. Allride certainly had plenty.
"Grah. This is far too early for any civilized person to be awake."

The was though of course another rider who was up at this moment, yet he was only up becuase he was just sticking to his normal schedule. He normally woke up very earily to get his exersise in before the day became and to entertain his firelizards, so that he would not have all nine of them chirping in his ear all day. Though usally Purth took good care of them.
Bamre walked into the dining room only to find his weyrmate up at this hour, which caught him by surpise. To most people this was a time of day which was used for sleeping, not for being awake. Diamond flew in to land on Bamre's shoulder, and he reached up and started to scracth her head, which brought a happy croon form the creature. The sound was diffently louder than usal do to the lack of noise form the active weyr.
He walked over in her direction with a soft smile on his face as he said, "Good morning. I see your up quite earlier than usal." He sat down next to her and looked at his weyrmate with a soft smile on his face. Even though Bamre was someone who woke up early, Purth and most of his fair did not seem to agree with this, and where at this moment happily sleeping away. Even Jasper did not want to wake up to go with Bamre, and be his overprotective self. Only Diamond was as much of a early worm as her pet.

"There is absolutely nothing good about this morning," Tirlynna complained, although she did manage a smile for Bamre.
She always had one ready for the white rider, no matter how grouchy she might act towards and around anyone else who happened to be near. He was the love of her life, after all, even if his dragon could never fly hers.
"I see that your firelizards all have more sense than to be up, to boot." Wry, that tone. She knew full well that his flits and hers were asleep in a multi-colored pile in the weyr right now.

Bamre's smile widened a little. He was always gald to see Tirylnna, plus he did not mind her complaining. He loved her and such things did not brother him, especially when Reinth had been proddy, it had affected her in that way also. He was just happy her to see her smile, "Awww come on, it can't be that bad. Andol seemed to be enjoying himself when I saw him." His brother was even more of a early bird than he was. Yet the white rider sometimes wondered if his brother ever slept.
At the moment his weyrmate started to mention firelizards, Diamonds head popped up form over Bamre's shoulder as she chirped softly, and climbed over onto his shoulder so she could land on the shoulder of her pet's weyrmate and softly nuzzled Tirylnna's cheek. Bamre laughed softly and said to the other, "Well at least all of them expect for her highness here." Diamond followed pet around more than any other flit, she got up when he did and went to bed when he did. He continued by saying with a soft laugh, "Though I think the reason for that is the white lump sitting in our weyr who likes to sleep late." Purth was not a morning dragon. Yet he would stay up late, when most of the wild flits where playing.

"I noticed. Neither is Reinth. And *I* am not a morning person, but I have to fill in for somebody."
At least the rainbow could not be expected to fly *long* sweeps. An hour, tops, before the bright wings would begin to tire. Still, the small dragons were highly useful, as if intended to fill in the gap left as the normal colors had grown larger.
Intended? The explosion of new colors spoke of something random, but could one ever be sure?
Not with dragons. "And morning, Diamond." The little queen was so adorable...although less so, of course, than her own, paler Dawn.
Who was asleep. She was momentarily jealous of the queen firelizard. She wasn't needed for sweeps, she got to sleep in.

Bamre knew that the reason for his weyrmate's early morning was becuase she had to do rounds this morning, though he figured sinice he was already up, maybe he could join her at least. So at least she would not be bored. He then girned inwardly at the thought that he would need to keep her awake, yet he also knew that Reinth would probably be whining egough to accomplish that without him doing anything, "If you want I could have Diamond go wake up Purth and maybe we could join you. If that will make things any esaier." Normally Bamre returned to thier weyr and slept for another hour or two about this time, so he would be there when Tirlynna woke up.
Diamond chirped softly when she was aknowlagded, the regal creature then crawled down onto the table after nuzzling Trilynna's cheek again. She then began to show off a little bit, with her wings expanding. The large queen was the senior queen and the largest queen flit of the weyr to boot, so she was going to get the attention of both the riders. Typical queen behavior.

"Depends. I wouldn't want Purth to be mad with you." And if there was anyone less of a morning person than Tirlynna herself, it was the white dragon.
"I know from experience that a grumbly dragon is no fun at all."
You couldn't even walk away or cover your ears. She then giggled at Diamond. "Dawn's going to get jealous," she remarked, as she rubbed at the miniature eyeridges.
Diamond was still larger than her daughter and very definitely in charge. "Diamond is, like, essence of gold, isn't she. Dawn's quieter.

Bamre shook his head, "Yeah he probably won't be happy, though I don't think he will mind when I tell him the reason. He usally doesn't mind helping as long as he thinks I am waking him up for a good reason." Purth was a really sweet dragon, which had been evideniced with the way he had pulled Bamre out of that slump when they had been weyrlings. The white dragon may not have been a morning dragon, yet he knew that Purth would not mind doing this.
He looked over at Diamond and nodded his head and without having to say anything she dissapered, and a few mintues later reappered, which Bamre heard a voice in his head a second later, Mine why is it that you woke me up at this. Only Hexeth is up at this hour on purpose. So I don't need to be. Bamre laughed as dragon spoke and said to the white affectionatly, Love, I though that Tirylnna and Reinth would want some company while they do thier rounds this morning. The white dragon huffed, Alright Mine, that is fine. Though I am getting extra sleep later today, so don't expect me to do anything then. as he headed over near where Reinth was and plopped down beside her, as the white dragon talked to the rainbow in a coversation that was basically the two complianing to each other about being woken up early.
Bamre looked to Tirlynna, and smiled softly, " I think he doesn't mind, though I thinking we are going to have a certian white dragon taken a nap afterward. Yet he doesn't mind. So do we have to go soon, or do we have more time to just sit and talk?"

"We have a bit of time," Tirlynna admitted. "I need to finish breakfast."
She actually found it hard to force food down herself this early, although she was not going to tell Bamre that.
"You know. I'm not sure we have the two smallest dragons in the Weyr any more. I think Lesoroth may be very, very slightly smaller than Reinth. I don't know."
Maybe she could get them to stand next to each other so she could tell. Maybe it didn't really matter. The rainbows were no longer the shock they had been when they first hatched and people were entirely used to coppers and sapphires by now.
Who really cared?

Bamre smiled and sat down next to Tirlynna as they where join by Shappire and Emerald, who appered out of thin air. The two flit began to sniff at the rainbow riders food, obvious wanting to be feed as they began to chirp at her softly. Bamre laughed saying, "As usal a bunch of mouths begging to be feed. He was gald that firelizards where the only mouths begging to be feed now a days. The two dragons where old egough to take care of themselves, and because Renith was a fighting dragon, any childern was a doubtful thing. Having to bettewen that many times had that affect.
The mention of the smaller rainbow made him nod his head in agreement, "Maybe it works like the queens. I mean the golds are bigger than the bronzes. So maybe female rainbows are going to be the larger ones. Plus Purth has always been a little bit bigger than Reinth anyway." Becuase the two would curl up together in thier weyr, the white rider had plenty of chances to compare the size of the rainbow and the white. Purth was in his opintion a little bit bigger than Reinth.
That was when he remembered somthing and he comment, "Oh and it seems we have a new female dragon having flights and wandering around the weyr now. Not to mention all the hiding. Plus I guess it answers the question on wethier or not Shappire's can lay eggs. Andol has not mentioned any, so I guess the Shappires will be just like the greens, just with a lot fewer flights. Probably has many as the rainbows" The older shappire had yet to have one so it made him wondered, plus the fact Hexeth was bording on 2 turns old. He was obviously speaking of Hexeth, which had blew him away. Even Purth was supirsed, which was a very strange sight to the the white dragons rider. Purth was usally never surpirsed about anything. Though Bamre was just gald the flight had gone well. He thought his brother was silly when it came to flights, yet Bamre had always thought the younger male was entitled to his own opintion. So he had been worried. Even Purth had been worried. Bamre remembered Purth saying somthing about wacthing the flight in case Tombath did not win, he was going to go and sit in And'l's weyr. Purth was the type who did things like that for people.

"A little bit. Not much."
And then Tirlynna laughed a bit. "I noticed about Hexeth. Silly dragon. I wonder if it's because And'l expected a blue so much. Dragons do echo their riders, after all."
Not that she'd ever heard of anything like that happening, but there hadn't been male and female dragons that were of the same color before, so...
"Not saying And'l screwed his dragon up, or anything. But sapphires and blues are hard to tell apart at the best of times."

Bamre shrugged his shoulders, "That might be the case, though it seemed like something like this would have happened before if that where the case, but I would not be supirsed if it had somthing to do with it, my brother certianly touched the egg that Hexeth came form more than the others." Though that probably was becuase the egg allowed him to distance himself form the other candidates. At least by a little bit. "It probably has more to do with the colors now having male and female version. The sudden mutations in the dragons may have caused Hexeth to be born confused. He was in Malaracyth's second clucth after all. " Bamre rested his head in his hands thoughfully for a moment as he continued to think about it.
"Though what surpised me almost as much as the flight was the fact that Purth seemed to have been just has fooled as the rest of us." Purth was the type of dragon who would know somthing, and give the statment 'You didn't ask.' When talk to him about it. "I would not be supirsed if somthing like this happens at least one more time." His next thought was almost a thoughful one, "Wonder what would happen if the Concial found out about Hexeth's flight. I mean she still looks like a blue. They would probably be going nuts over it." Bamre laughed softly at this thought, showing that he was not being serious over this statment. He was more attmepting to make a politcal style joke over it.

Tirlynna laughed. "The Council probably had apoplexy about my dragon anyway. I doubt a blue turning into a sapphire could possibly shock them more."
More than the fact that the rainbows could self-perpetuate, a sort of backup line of dragons. If anything were to happen to all of the golds.
"I hope that the mutations aren't just Malaracyth. It would serve them right if one of *their* golds produced a bunch of coppers and sapphires. They wouldn't know what to do."
It would also serve them right if Thread came back, but Tirlynna still hoped they were wrong on that front.

Bamre laughed in agreement with the rainbow rider, "Yeah that is probably the case. Who knows though what there reaction was to having Purth show up?" Yet at this moment Bamre did not believe that the conciual was too worried about the mutations than to worry about a color that had already showed up before. Then again, there had been only been one white which was over 1000 turns ago. So maybe they where, "I guess it would bother them more if they knew about me and Purth's little journy to the past that we had awhile back. They seemed to get paranoid about things, so I am sure they will take me and Purth's accdient off to whatever they want."
Though the subject of one of thier golds turning out a egg like that seemed interesting, "Well maybe, though I am not really sure too much about them ever having any mutations. It seems like it going to just be passed through Malaracyth and down to her queens. Though if it did happen, I am kind of worried about it. With what they have been doing now and the way they have been acting towards us. I would be scared for any of the little weyrlings that impress any mutations form one of thier queens. We don't know what they are capable of."

"We would have to help them if that happened." A weyrling dragon and rider could be snatched from the Sands if needed, if they were keeping an eye on things from a distance...and who better to do it than the smallest and most agile dragons in the Weyr.
"I've heard it theorized that quite a few more whites are conceived, but that because they find it so hard to Hatch, unless they have a strong bond with their potential rider, strong enough to call for help...." Tirlynna tailed off. "And who knows. But when Thread comes back, they will have to listen to us. Or at least start thinking..about the fact that we have most of the dragons."
