Tirlynna was up and about far too early again.
She swore the weyrleader had it in for her. Or, perhaps, he was demonstrating that his sister would never get favorable treatment, despite being bonded to a clutching dragon.
At least Reinth was not gold, she thought as she fastened her straps. At least she did not have to tolerate being groomed to be the next Weyrwoman...although it would take an accident for her to outlive Kelyna by that much.
The Weyrwoman was still very young. Sometimes it seemed everyone here was young. Old people were more set in their ways and less likely to risk everything in order to start anew.
So, yes. They were young, and they would grow old here. Or Thread would come...

Not many seemed to favor this hour of the day, since it was a time where one would still want to be sleeping. Yet their And'l was, half asleep walking down through Weyr with a look on his face that showed, that he wanted to be in bed more than anywhere else. Though the odd thing this time was, that he was not being trailed by a certain dragon who was always following close behind her rider, as well as a certain firelizard who seemed to keep a perpetual perch on her pet's shoulders.
Yet his reason for being awake was the opposite of what most people would have for their reason of wanted to go to sleep. And'l was not up early having just got out of bed. He had gone with his usual night owl habit of staying up, and greeting the dawn, by falling asleep. Though he made sure to balance his time at night, by making sure that everything he would needed to be done at night was finished, and also some of the things that needed to be done during the day.
In his half dazed state he laid eyes on his brothers weyrmate who seemed have another day of early morning work again. He trudged over in her direction with half of a wave, "Why hello. You seemed to be up earlier than normal." The Sapphire rider had bags under his eyes which clearly showed that he would rather be in his bed just as much as Tirlynna wanted to be in hers. Though probably more.

"And you, as normal, are pretending to be a wher," Tirlynna teased. She was well aware of the nocturnal habits of her weyrmate's brother.
Reinth rumbled a greeting, lowering her head to And'l. Is Hexeth still asleep? the rainbow asked, rather more cheerful than either human might have wanted her to sound.
She, after all, would get to sleep as soon as they came back from their errand, and there would be little straight flying involved. The rainbow lacked the stamina of even a green.
Tirlynna had sensed that Reinth was a little disappointed Hexeth had turned out to be female...she liked her suitors, even if she seldom rose. And after all, And'l would be less of a disruption than any other rider that might wake up in her Weyr.
She was very glad that Reinth was not a green.

And'l laughed softly, the feeling of doing so gave the rider a boost of energy that he felt was needed at this moment in time, "Yes I guess you could say that, though I am gald temper is not like that of one." He found that the creatures seemed to become very aggersive at a moments notice. And'l could be considered the oppisate, thier was probably not a aggresive bone in his body., though sadness was a differnt story. He was like everyone else when it came to that subject. As the rainbow lowered her head to him, And'l's slender fingers reached out to scrath over the dragon's eyeridge's, "Yes Reinth she is still fast asleep. Curled up with Tombath as usal." Thier where probably only two places that one would ever find the Shappire dragon, one was with her rider and the other was with her weyrmate. Though if not with those, then she was probably in route to get too one or the other. She was a diffently a creature who did not like to be without someone very close to her, nearbye. Though And'l did ask the rainbow curiously, "Though if you want to talk to her I can wake her up for you?" Yet he doubted that Hexeth would be happy about it, but And'l agreed with Tombath that the Shappire diffently needed to get out more. Maybe even show off to the males some. The though of flights did not really bother him as much as they used to, sinice Tombath could now fly Hexeth, and therefore keep And'l form waking up in a differnt weyr. Yet he knew that one time it might not work out the way he wanted it, but he had finally decided to resign himself to this. Hexeth's bond to her clucthbrother gave And'l the hope that it would workout 99 times out of 100. Well figureively speaking of course. Yet he doubted that one time would even much of a disruption anyway, anyone who knew And'l knew that he was loyal to his weyrmate. Though that did not mean that he had never given thought to which male he would rather win, if Hexeth diecded to let a differnt dragon fly her one of these times. At this point no one had come to mine. Yet anyway. (Sorry if I rambled a bit Reine )

"I am glad you're happy with your weyrmate." Very few dragonriders were able to sustain long term relationships amid the inevitable disruptions and jealousies of the Weyr.
Yet there were some...Tirlynna and Bamre. C'lyn and Kelyna. And'l and Uu'ian. It was unusual for a bronzerider to prefer his own gender, but as long as it worked out.
And maybe things like that were changing too. With all of the mutations and other stuff going on, one of these days a girl might Impress a bronze.
That would put a spanner in the works, Tirlynna thought with amusement. Of course, she imagined that any such girl would be of the general type of the female brownriders, but...
Well. It might happen, it might not. Perhaps it was time to simply stop worrying about such things, to stop caring. "And no need to wake up Hexeth."
Reinth crooned as And'l rubbed her small eyeridge. She was not going to turn down attention from anyone.

And'l smiled softly at the comment, "As I am sure you are happy with your's as well. How is things going, I hope Diamond and the rest of them have not eaten you two out of your weyr yet." And'l knew the fact that it was hard to have a long term relationship as a rider, though that did not mean he did not intend to try. His brother seemed to be doing well so far, but the fact that Purth could not chase probably was a factor in that, since it allowed Bamre to never have to worry about Purth catching so other female so that all would need to be dealt with was when Reinth was caught, but again the rainbow did not fly often so in his mind that was not problem. For himself Hexeth's bond her brother made him not worry about it.
Yet he soon found that he was again thinking way to much about what could happen and not what was happening. It was a moment that was early and here he was stargazing. He brought his mind back around to what he was currently doing which was talking to Tirlynna and lavishing attention on Reinth, "Yes it is probably best not to wake her. Hexeth has never been the best 'morning dragon' should we say." He laughed as he spoke. Hexeth never liked to be woken up form her beauty sleep. He knew that Purth was one of those dragon's like Hexeth, though form what his brother had told him. The white dragon did not complain as much. Hexeth did not liked to be woken up in the morning just as much as Tombath did not like to be dirty. Though the Shappire was not lazy. She had always been just as hard working as her bonded.
And'l moved closer to Reinth and continued to scratch her eye ridges softly as he heard her please croon. If their was one thing the Sapphire knew how to do well, it was how to make the dragons and flits happy. Since they had mostly been his friends when he first got hear.

Tirlynna laughed. "Not sure who is worse...Diamond or Dawn." Two queens in one weyr did not always make for peace, after all.
Reinth crooned some more. She would take plenty of that, yes...there was not so much gold in her as to be too proud. Or bronze, for that matter. The rainbow could be as sensual as any green when she chose, although she did not choose so often.
She was simply Reinth. "And I'm not a morning person. Well, it can't be helped. We're put together the way we are, and it's good that there's variety...imagine how boring it would be if we were all the same."
She laughed inwardly at a Pern where all dragons were the same except for gender. Of course, they'd be over-run if all females clutched. Unless they clutched like Reinth...an egg at a time. Then it might work.
But there were now more different dragons than ever before. "You know, I'm surprised. We have female browns, female blues...but no male greens." There was Fioreth, who was green-sized, but the fire was emphatically NOT a green.
