Physical Appearance: Synchella has short dark brown hair that she experimentally dyes highlights of different colors. Usually only one or two streaks of gold, brown, blue, green or white. She has lightly tanned skin and a smattering of freckles across her cheeks. She has large dark amber eyes and long lashes, a deep dimpled smile and a heart shaped face.
She stands at 5'6, and has a curvy build. She flounces rather than walks, is graceful and always smiling. She is soft spoken, with a voice that usually goes from soft to husky when she's excited about something.
Personality: Synchella grew up in the Weyr, and while she likes cooking and likes even more helping in the infirmary, what she likes most of all is flirting. As soon as her curves started augmenting her pretty face, she found that boys would often do what she asked for a smile or even just a hug. She has no compunctions about using her looks to gain favor or get out of chores, and will sometimes use her looks to drag her friends out of their duties as well if she can. She is giggly, and when she gets herself into trouble, she can appear solemn though inside she's probably just trying to get it out of the way quickly.
She knows right from wrong though, and doesn't really like hurting others, though she can be blind to how flirting might hurt others. She dedicates herself to the Infirmary because she likes helping people and watching them get better. What she loves more than anything else though, is dragons. She always wanted a flitter, but for some reason the chance never came up for her to have one. Synchella's being chosen was the best day of her life, and she hopes she'll be chosen by the dragon.
Despite her pretty appearance, and attention from boys, she does know her appearance doesn't make her better, its only an advantage in some situations. She's self conscious about who she is, and that's why she's worried about whether she'll Impress or not. She knows a dragon will look beyond her face, and she is scared they won't see anything past that worth having.
This underlying fear and need to please, having others like her and not hate her makes her worry more than anything she won't Impress, and she tries to seem more confident than she actually is.
History: Synchella's parents were both chosen to Impress, and they both were left standing. They met working in the kitchens of Harpers Hall and had Synchella and her brother soon after. Synchella and her brother were soon given to different foster mothers, and Synchella was tagging along after Terana as the woman helped heal the sick even as a small child. She learned very young to appreciate what the healers did, and learned to really want, more than anything to learn to heal and help people in some way.
When the Allride Weyr was being formed, Synchella's foster mother decided she wanted to help. They'd need Healers. Going to live at Allride Weyr, Synchella developed a strong awe and love for the dragonriders, and adoration for the dragons themselves. She harbored a secret desperate wish to join the dragon riders ranks.

She didn't understand why girls got jealous of her, but could usually win them over eventually when she set her mind to it. She often did, she hated having enemies. She seemed to need people to approve of or like her, and got uncertain when confronted. When she was chosen to be a Candidate, though, he grew extremely jealous and stopped speaking to her.
Without this support, she wilted a bit, but the excitement that she might have what it took to be a dragon rider overcomes that on good days.
