Truth was, C'lyn felt...lost.
No, he did not feel the temptation to end it either by dying or by leaving Allride. Yet, he felt that he had lost everything.
Everything except Karlyn, and she was a stranger to him. In fact, he had barely recognized his tanned, older sister on her return from the past. Reinth would undoubtedly rise again soon.
And he had Kilith, but Kilith was his dragon, a part of him. Inseperable by any force known to man.
He did not have Kelyna.
He did not have the duties of Weyrleader.
And as much as she had tried to keep it from him, he had indeed suspected that Kelyna was pregnant again. They had taken from him mate and child, but he had lost the rage that had come at first.
There was, of course, a word for what he was experiencing...and under the circumstances it was excusable.
Sitting on a rock in the bowl, head in hands, it was obvious to everyone that C'lyn, former Weyrleader of Allride, was quite depressed.

Narine was wandering in the weyrbowl, contemplating Kellerth's upcoming clutch, when she spied the bent figure on the rock. She walked over, just the slightest of smiles playing on her face. This man, it was the previous Weyrleader! Her smile faded as she watched him for a few moments before moving forward. She wanted to reach out and find a way to tell him things would be alright, yet the recent murders gave her pause.
She softly cleared her throat, just a couple of small coughs, just to make some kind of sound. Would he respond? Would he tell her to go away and leave him alone? Surely he didn't want to be alone, did he? Why wasn't his dragon trying to cheer him up? Or was he? So many questions, so many unknown answers, so much grief.

C'lyn jumped slightly, turning to see who had approached. Of course, an assassin would not have made any sound, let alone one so obviously deliberate.
It was Narine. He knew everyone in the Weyr, and was resolved to continue to do so. It might not matter any more, but...but.
Well, he had lost his place and if he ever got it back it would be in Turns and with a different Weyrwoman at his side. One he doubted he would love. Kelyna had been his life partner. They should have had fifty more Turns together.
"I'm afraid I'm very bad company right now," he said, quietly.
