What a strange place

Karlyn liked to know her way around places, and the weyr of her birth was not familiar to her. Oh, the land around it was, but when she was there, there was no weyr.

So far, the dragons had given her directions everywhere or her flits found the way. She decided to find the Dining Hall when her stomach rumbled. Finding the Dining Hall was easy, she followed her nose, but once she got there it was confusing. People went to different pace, got food, and sat down. They seemed to know what they were doing as if it were common place.

Personally, Karlyn thought it was the strangest thing she had ever seen. She thought about sending one of her flits to talk to someone for her. Proud, Dolor, and Sasa were with her, and the other flits were out playing in the hall. Then she remembered the last time she tried to talkto someone and thought better of it. What was she supposed to do?

Grumble......grumble, grumble. That was Narine's stomach, clearly letting the girl know she needed to eat, and she would be glad to get away from the labourious chore of cleaning tack. Faranth only knew how she'd gotten roped into that one, but still, it had given her time to just sit and think. Ok, not just sit and think, but the principal was the same, cleaning tack didn't require much real concentration, so she was able to let her mind wander.

Oh, and that places it wandered. Up into the skies with the magnificent dragons, into the creche to the little children and their games. She enjoyed these times, when she could let her mind wander, but soon enough, usually all too soon, her stomach protested and she was forced to find nourishment. Yet today was different, today she noticed the girl with the fair looking rather lost for what to do. Yet how could she get her attention without being overly, shall we say, touchy feely? Unfortunately she had no firelizard of her own, so that was out, yet she did have something else to her advantage, but there was no promises that the girl would understand letters.

She had to try though, but first she sent her a wave and a smile. After all, the girls wasn't blind, was she? Only after she had the girl's attention would she go on to sketch out: My name is Narine, in the air.

Karlyn watched aspeople moved around. It was then she noticed the girl wave at her. She smiled and waved back. She moved her hand to show she meant the dining hall, and then she mad a confused shrugging motion of her shoulders. She was trying to keep it simple for the other girl to understand her. What did she do with the dining hall?

At her mind call, waterfall went between to her room, grabbed a peice of slate and chalk, and came back between to her.

Meanwhie she watched the other girl with curiosity. Why was she waving her arms around in the air?
