Seeing Bamre up there, Darket quickly piped up, "I will volunteer!" He hadn't said anything about not helping a dragon, but who cared, it might be fun to play this little game.

Jator wasn't about to volunteer without knowing what for. For some reason, he glanced across at Tirlynna.
He didn't envy her, being the weyrleader's sister had to be difficult at times. Quite a few people seemed to expect her to Impress the gold in the upcoming clutch.
He had no desire, really, for a bronze himself, so...

"W-wait!" Zenniel cried, raising her hand. She was surprised by her sudden wanting to ask a question. "F'mar--- if the dragonet-- is -- a Queen, and she can't--- err, get- out of her..." She made a vague oval shape to mean the word 'egg,' "You still can't... help her?" She was intrigued. Didn't the Weyr need more Queens. If it was a Queen egg, would the normal rules apply? Or was the Queen deemed as too weak to live?
"Ahh.... err... I could --- volun---err also?" Zenniel asked, her momentary outburst making her feel more awkward than ever. She ducked her head and blushed. Why had she just volunteered?

Tirlynna looked at Zenniel, and then she cut in, gently, "A dragonet who can't break the shell -is- likely to weak to live. It's better that that dragon dies inside the shell, than is helped out, Impresses somebody and -then- dies, because then we're likely to lose a good candidate as -well-."

A game? That had potential to be intersting. Andicher was quite content to sit back and watch, though. Apparently, from the eagerness of the other candidates, he was an exception. With a small sigh, he shifted against the solid wall, his lack of action marking him further as an onlooker.
Bind stirred a bit, lifting her tiny head to see what was going on. The scene held no interest for her, so she shifted a bit in her little hammock and stretched her wings. Her owner scratched her back for a short time, then she grew tired of it and nipped him, sending his attention back to the lesson.

F'mar chuckled, glad that more than one candidate had volunteered. They would have to do this one at a time, though. "Okay, Bamre, you go first."
He pulled out a chair and gestured for Bamre to come over. "You stand on this, close your eyes, and fall." He turned to the rest of the candidates. "And you will all gather around and catch him. When you're Wingriders together, you will have to trust each other entirely. This will be a good trust-building activity."

Bamre looked at the chair for a second he wished he did not volenteer, but then he thought to himself I have to trust the others I have to. So he walked over to the chair and climed up on it and stood there and aited for the others to gather around before he fell.

Andicher watched as F'mar selected the first volunteer, and listened like he was expected to when the instructions were stated. This game-was that really an accurate description?- was certainly one he didn't anticipate his turn at. He'd probably fall the wrong direction, or hit someone who was to be catching him. Ah well, all the better that he wasn't up first.
The young man stepped up to the empty space where he assumed Bamre was supposed to fall, gently sliding Bind's brace so that she was resting at his back, rather than his chest. He didn't want to risk her being harmed while he was participating. Then, he shot the boy on the chair a friendly smile, encouraging him to not worry about this. Even if Andicher should fail, the others would be at his side to support their fellow candidate. The boy held out his arms a bit, showing he was ready when the others were.

Zenniel, seeing an obvious point in this excercize, cautiously, if not happily, started to go to Bamre. Zenniel wondered what dragons they'd get, and who would be Wingleader and who the followers. She stood beside a boy--Andichar--and smiled tentativaly at him. Why had she volunteered again?

Jator moved over as well.
Tirlynna, who was less keen on physical contact, was rather slower in her approach. She frowned a little as the exercise was explained, hanging back slightly.

Melir joined the other candidates in front of the chair, ready to catch Bamre when he fell. He wasn't too strong, but if they were all working together, he would only have to bear a small part of the weight. He guessed that was part of the point too. He looked around at the others, F'mar's remark that they would be Wingriders together echoing in his thoughts. Would he really fly with these people someday? It was a strange thing to think about.
Maylina hung back by Tirlynna, but for different reasons. She was not fond of Bamre, nor was she fond of getting too close to people unless there was something in it for her. Actually, come to think of it, she was just not fond of lessons. She couldn't wait to Impress and get this all over with.
F'mar watched as the candidates gathered around, motioning for the two girls to come in closer. He looked up at Bamre and nodded. "Okay, go. Don't worry, all of your friends are down below, ready to catch you."

Bamre looked around as he waited for all the others to gather around he was very neverous. He thought of people who had tricked him before and that this could be anthoer trick and he would end up on the floor with people laughing at him. Yet he knew he had to trust becuase these people were his freinds and they had not treated him bad so he knew that he should trust them. So he closed his eyes an took a deep breath and just let himself fall backwards hoping they would cacth him.
