Despite everything that had been happening at Allride over the turns since a particularly glowing Rainbow, Dragon cycles still happened. And that meant flights and clutchings and hatchings, life moving on. And said Rainbow was Danielth of Saenalia. Two turns had passed since the darling had hatched and it was time for this young lady to shine .... errr ... glow, rather. She was slumbering on her favorite sunning ledge, and she'd been snappy and proddy since two days ago. And today was the day that she would have her maiden flight.
Saenalia was in her weyr, sleeping. She'd been up late last night on Watch as the Watchdragon, since the blue that should have been on duty was sick. She kicked off her blanket and rolled onto her stomach, unconsciously. Her dream reflecting the one that her glowing Rainbow was having.
Danielth woke suddenly and she sat up straight. Well, as straight as can be expected for a Dragon. Her eyes whirled with purple of lust and she hissed at a nearby copper. She launched from her ledge and landed in the herdbeast pens. She was hungry! And she will eat.
Saenalia woke up at the same time as her bonded, her stomach growled, reflecting the emptiness of her bonded. She snarled and moved to the ledge of her weyr and watched as her rainbow lifemate glided easily to the feeding pens. "BLOOD IT ONLY!"
Danielth snarled and screamed at her human counterpart. No words of retort. Words were useless. She turned her attention back to the dead beast she'd taken down. Ah, the sweet tang of the dark red liquid. It tasted soooo good and it gave her the energy she realized she actually craved. She wished not to be among these upstart males! She snarled at them and then launched into the sky, her roar of challenge reverbrating in the Weyr walls. Rukbat's rays bounced off of Danielth's hide as she flew into the sky.
Upstart males! Dance with me!

Lesoroth jerked awake as the first sign of lust hit him, while K'rian continued to sleep for the moment, tossing and turning in restless dragon-fueled need. This particular rainbow was only a few months older then Dainelth, if that, the only hatchling from Reinth's last hatching. His speed was up there with the others of his colour, which only included his mother, Reinth, Danielth and himself, at least at the current time.
He sprang from his ledge, gliding across to the herdbeast pens and swiftly caught a large doe, instincts controlling his actions as he latched onto the neck to drain the beast of blood. Already the slightly younger female had taken to the sky once more, and Lesoroth surmised that the one beast would surely be enough. He launched back into the air, remembering the harsh timbre of her words as he kept a respectible and safe distance.
As soon as the male had left his ledge, K'rian had woke suddenly, sitting up instantly as his mind processed the feelings that washed over him. The conclusion of which made him sigh, Lesoroth was chasing once again, yet this one was a rainbow as the dragon himself was. He didn't even know the rider, yet he knew that he had to find her, at least he assumed it was a female rider.
"A little warning next time Les." The rider said allowed as he pulled on a shirt yet leaving it open. He walked out onto his ledge, and immediately caught sight of the young woman on hers. Aha! He knew, without a doubt, that she must be the female's rider and he hastened back through his weyr and into the corridor, making his way in the direction he had spied the woman. It didn't take him long to come across the right weyr and he knocked lightly on the door. He was not about to burge into the woman's room, even it is was a flight. Even if his body was heating up, thanks to the dragonlust he received from Lesoroth.

"Who's flying now?" There was only one reason Bonjouth would leave the ground without his rider and J'tor did not need the flow of lust to know somebody was.
Danielth
Not Reinth, but the second of the female rainbows, and J'tor made his way towards Saenalia's weyr, feeling rather awkward. He'd barely exchanged a single word with this particular rider, after all, and he might be about to end up sleeping with her.
Bonjouth's lust had not yet completely overtaken him when he found the corridor door, right behind K'rian...the rider of the MALE rainbow.
There would be a clutch from this flight, too, and Bonjouth knew it, soaring upwards in pursuit of the tiny Danielth. She was lovely, too, with all dragon colors marking her hide, and so far the rainbow was his only competition.
Surely, he could beat a rainbow to a rainbow, or would she prefer her own 'kind', her own color? All the brown could do was prove himself strong and powerful in the air, a worthy mate for any female.

Danielth flew up as high as she dared to go into the sky. Her heart was beating rapidly, the blood singing through her viens as she caught sight of two males. They were going to chase her, eh? If they were going to be the only ones to try and win her, then they had better work to prove they were worthy!
Saenalia walked to her door and opened it, her eyes zeroing in on both Riders. "Come in," she said, her voice already husky from the lust and waves of feelings washing through her. A shiver ran up her spine as her lifemate flew ahead of the males in the sky above the Weyr. Who would be the lucky one to win?
Danielth did a loop in the air, twisting to the left and then right, her supple body moving easily to her commands as she flew. Lesoroth, you look handsome this fine day. Bonjouth, you look eager to win. She teased the males by flying down like she was going to shoot right past them but swerved to the left and beat her wings to fly up into the sky again.

Lesoroth followed Danielth into the sky, rising in height as she did, although adding in a few barrel-rolls and screwdriver like rolls into his movements, hoping to show just how worthy he was of catching her. His heart pounded out a tattoo within his chest, pumping lust filled blood through his body. Then for his piece de resistance he did a loop de loop, arcing up and over before arcing back down to fly how he had been before. He knew he was much more agile then the bulky brown, more agile then even the greens. When then younger rainbow seemed to come towards them, he extended his legs, yet to no avail as she averted an early catching by flying away to the left. He crooned to her, telling her how beautiful he thought her without the need for actual words. He easily arced to the right, almost turning on a wingtip, as the humans might say. Throwing in another barrel-roll for good measure.
K'rian's breath caught in his throat as Saenalia appeared and he had to caught himself from reaching out to touch her. It was too early for that yet. So instead he entered the room, noticing in the back of his mind that it was the same size as his own weyr. This was the second flgiht Lesoroth had participated in, so he was still somewhat unsure about who to act, yet his let himself watch the young woman through hooded eyes.

Of course, Bonjouth was eager to win. A rainbow...there were only two of them and, of course, he had never caught either of them and he was J'tor, making his way into the Weyr, undressing the woman within with his eyes.
And he was Bonjouth, not trying to compete with the smaller Lesoroth on stunts, but flying higher, higher, demonstrating his strength and the economy of his wingbeats. He knew that if he was to outfly the rainbow it was by showing their differences.
He was strong, he was brown, he was much better support for her than a male that was no bigger than she was. (Nevermind that golds were bigger than bronzes, that was logic, and logic had no space in a rutting dragon's mind). She was also gorgeous, every color of her in the right place. And part of him knew she would be a mother.
Part of him knew and forced even more effort into his fight, into the desperation to catch her.

Danielth could feel herself tiring and knew that she must choose her mate! Should she choose Lesoroth, her own color? Or the eager brown, Bonjouth? Both were equally handsome and strong in body, she could easily see it in both of them. Her Rider was counting on her to make the choice. But she was a bit unsure. This was her first flight, and something that she was unsure of. She flapped her wings to keep ahead of the two males, but when she looked back, she could see them easily gaining ground on her.
She hadn't missed the stunts by Lesoroth, or the demonstration by Bonjouth about his strength and economy. She loved both stunts and strength. She finally settled on her choice. She eased up on her speed, feeling her strength about to leave her as she eased between Lesoroth and Bonjouth. She crooned to them both. The both of you have flown well, but I may only choose one. And I choose Bonjouth.

She could only choose one indeed, and brown strength would enwrap her as Bonjouth reached out with tail and neck for the tiny rainbow. He would support her with his own wings, he would carry her. He was the best choice, and she had seen it...and then there was only the two of them and the endless sky.
J'tor..the two of them and the endless sky and Saenalia was Danielth and J'tor was Bonjouth, and there was nothing to stop the brownrider from moving to claim his prize. Any thoughts of embarrassment would be for the next morning...for now, the night was theirs.
