Malaracyth sat guard over her queen egg, brooding and thinking when suddenly one of the eggs started shaking. Malaracyth didn't notice it for a second, but then with a sudden cry she did. She fist contacted Kelyna, Mine, the eggs, THEY HATCH!
Call, the weyr and the candidates hurry. Announce to all! Kelyna replied. She had just been waking up, ready to start a new day. The food had much improved since the shipload of workers had arrived.
Malaracyth then announced to the entire weyr population, Come one, come all, to my great hatching!
Kelyna quickly got over to the hatching sands, watching the shaking eggs and the people that were arriving
With that, the ninth egg split open showing a brown that seemed to be reddish brown in color and very solid in his color with no intricate markings. When a person's eyes adjusted to him, they would notice that he had swirls and lines all over that were tiny and pastel brown in shade.

"HATCHING!"
Andicher woke with a start. People were scurrying about outside the candidate barracks, and one of them had yelled out the news. With more haste than he'd ever prepared himself for the day with in his life, the red-head jumped up and tore off his bedclothes, rummaging for his robes all the while. He hopped around, to the bemused stares of drowsy little Bind, and threw the crisp, white robes on over his head. Taking only enough time to tie on his thick soled sandals that he'd acquired since touching the eggs, he dashed out the door and broke into a run with the rest of the Weyr, to the Sands.
When he arrived, he stood among the other candidates, few that there were. A nervous, anticipating buzz filled the air. Suddenly, with no warning, the atmosphere broke with the shattering of an egg. A brown, warm in color, had appeared. Andicher stared on, shaking on the inside.

Bamre had been sitting in the candidate barracks with Diamond and Iron. He had been petting the baby gold firelizard when all of a sudden heard some yell hacthing and he saw the other boy boy put on his white robes and sandles and run out. He realized then that the hacthing was starting. He quickly as he could changed into his white robes then he smiled down at Iron and Diamond who was now asleep. So he said to Iron " Wacth over her now ok." Iron chriped back to him. Bamre quickly ran to the hacthing sands and looked around at all the people. He became a bit neverous, but then calmed himself down by breathing slowly. He then went over to were all the other candidates were standing. He wacthed as the egg split and out form it came a brown. He then took a deep breath and thought Here we go.

Zenniel had been going toward her favorite spot in the Weyr. This spot was high on one of the lonliest cliffs that overlooked the world beyond. She liked to just sit there and listen and brood. Mura had been following her at a distance. These were the times when he was not shy. These were the times when he was curious and wanted to know what was going on and where everything was. But teh girl stopped quite suddenly with a shiver of fear when something entered her mind:
Come one, come all, to my great hatching! That was Malaracyth.
Which meant the hatching was happening. Which meant---oh shards no---she would be stuck with many other people in the same place. Who cared about the eggs, it was teh people she was scared about! Not getting mauled to death or anything like that, it was the people. But, despite her intense fear of going to the hatching, she felt she must go. And Mura, for once, was happily humming away. He went between to study the eggs and didn't come back.
Another sign that Zenniel had to go.
So, turning around, the girl made her way slowly back to the candidate barracks. She threw on her white robes, and found that she was not the only one taking their time. Good. She really didn't feel like running. She made her way to the sands, and found that a brown had already hatched. Oh, go Zenniel.

Kilith had already been on the sands. The bronze lifted head and wings and started humming to welcome his children to the world, a rich throaty sound. C'lyn, who had been getting food, slipped back onto the Sands, quickly, taking up a station near his dragon. They were hatching, good. As the first dragonet popped shell, the hum intensified. A brown. Not bad. Nice color, too.
Jator tugged on his robes and forced himself to walk, not run, to the Sands. If he ran, he might trip and get there later or, worse, hurt himself. So as much as he wanted to make this a pell mell run, he walked, decorously, stepping out onto the sands just as the first egg cracked.
Perfect timing. A brown...not the luck a bronze would have been, but a handsome, healthy dragon.
Tirlynna was a few steps behind him, still securing her hair with a ribbon. Its dampness indicated that she had probably been caught in the baths. She bowed to queen and bronze, winked to her brother, and then took a place not far from the eggs. The brown was not for her, so she ignored it beyond keeping track of where it was in case it decided to go through her en route to somewhere else.

Melir gasped as the Queen's voice sounded in his head. The Hatching! Jumping into action, he pulled on his robe and ran to the Hatching Grounds, his heart pounding. He winced at the heat of the sands, surprised that they were even warmer than they had been during the Touching, and he sort of skipped up to the clutch, avoiding putting his feet down too much.
He bowed to the Gold and Bronze clutch parents, then took his place with the candidates. A Brown had already hatched, and Melir smiled at the sight of the baby dragon. He was so cute and vulnerable, nothing like the grown-up dragons guarding the clutch.
------
Maylina calmly pulled on her white robe and walked to the Hatching Grounds. She bowed to Kilith and Malacryth and then went to stand with the other candidates. She watched the Brown with little interest, then looked to the Gold egg. The strange eggs caught her eye too, and she wondered once more what they held. Maybe they were just oddly colored bronzes. At any rate, she couldn't wait to find out.

Eldan yelped in a most silly manner when he heard the gold in his head. Yanking on his robe and a pair of boots, he hustled to the Sands. He didn't want to miss a bit of the Hatching. Eldan carefully bowed to the Gold and Bronze. A rather nice brown hatched first. Not the best possible, but not horrible. The dragonet looked almost cute. He was bouncing up and down even though his boots were doing a better job of protecting his feet than sandals would have.
"Are you mine, young brown," he asked under his breath. Eldan did not expect a reply. His eyes drifted to the silver-striped teal egg.

Getrara started with a jolt when she heard Malaracyth's cry to come to the sands. She quickly found the candidate robe that she had laid at the corner of her cot. She threw the white robe on and took off for the sands. When she got there, she noticed the reddish colored brown that had just hatched. Luckily, he hadn't charged anyone. Askia fluttered in and landed on her shoulder, so as to have a good vantage point. Getrara quickly bowed to Mlaracyth and Kelyna before taking her place among the candidates.
Zaren heard the announcement about the eggs and grabbed the robe that lay on the floor. He quickly put the robe on and walked toward the hatching sands. When he got there, a little brown had hatched and others were shaking. Upon entering, Zaren bowed to the queen dragon, Malaracyth. Seeing Getrara, he went over to stand near his sister, but yet on the "boys side" of the sands. Shiyk had flown there, not wanting to be left behind and now sat on Zaren's shoulder.
Levra threw on her white robe as soon as she heard the announcement. She accidentally upsetting Verde while in the process, but soon the robe was on her and Verde was happily on her shoulder. Levra ran toward the hatching sands and almost upset Darket, who had Pounce cradled in his arms. Then, both siblings went toward the hatching sand, bowed, and took there places. Levra didn't even notice the little brown until she had taken her place and calmed down.

The little brown carefully sniffed every candidate, taking his time and giving each the same amount of time. He seemed to be a "regular" calm dragon, if there was such a thing. He finally came to Jator and stopped. He looked at this candidate, feeling very hungry and said, Mine, I believe I would like some food. Oh, and my name is Bonjouth, my J'tor.
At this time the seventh and eleventh egg started to shake. The eleventh seemed to be having trouble breaking and kept wiggling and scooting, without even a crack in the shell. The seventh egg on the other hand broke like a flower opening up it's bud. Out of this shell popped a beautiful green, who stared haughtily at the candidates looking like she couldn't believe how bad the candidates were that she could choose from.
I the meantime, a voice spoke in Bamre's head, Mine! Free me from this horridly thick prison, I can't seem to break it.
(OOC: You get to see that one next...)
egg 9: This looks like bloodstone, the gemstone of them month of march. rider: J'tor Dragon Name: Bonjouth Came from: Bonjour witch is hello in French Color: He is a small sized brown, leaning more toward the large blue in size, but in color he is brown. His brown leans towards a dark reddish brown, but it is still brown in color. His coloring could be called solid rose brown, but that wouldn't be correct, especially since there are intricate; symmetrically unbalanced swirls and lines of detail that if looked closely at might be called pastel brown. Personality: His personality seems just as steady as his color at first glance. The calm dragon does whatever he is told to do personality. He seems to be a reliable and calm dragon that just wants to blend in with the crowd and not be noticed. What people don't see is the delicate underneath, the insecure dragon that doesn't really feel secure in his abilities and is afraid of heights. Yes, this poor dragon is afraid of heights. This is going to be harder for the weyrling pair then when the rider is afraid of heights. Hopefully, Bonjouth's rider can be secure enough in his dragon to handle this challenge. Color Code: 660000

Bamre heard the voice in his head asking for his help. He could not believe it at first then he looked and he saw the egg that was shaking, but seemed like it could not get out. Bamre panicked he did not care that all of these people where watching him all he was thinking about was saving the dragon that was traped inside. He quickly ran toward the egg saying " Don't worry my little friend I am coming." He was soon beside the egg and he began to hit it and trying to claw through it to rip it apart to get to his little buddy inside. He soon saw a crack in the egg and said " Don't worry my friend you are almost out." and with that the egg broke and the dragon came out.

Eldan sighed, the brown had looked at almost all the boys on the Sands before choosing Jator. Too bad for himself, but great for Jator, now J'tor probably. There were still thirteen eggs with possible dragons for him. The gold would surely go to a girl. He wasn't going to put any of the dragonets still in shell out of his mind yet.
At least the green hadn't chosen him. He wasn't sure that he'd appeal to a green, but better safe than sorry. Careful steps brought him slightly closer to the silver-striped teal egg. It was a very pretty egg. After the dragonet hatched he would have to pick up a piece from at least that one if not each of the eggs as a memento of his first Hatching.

Kelyna stared in horror as the boy ran forward toward the egg like he possessed. Kelyna almost shot forward to stop the boy as a totally white dragon emerged. Kelyna stopped at this. It wasn't possible, a white! The only white was a legendary dragon that supposedly had been the one to destroy thread and bring technology into use. Kelyna wondered what the prpose of this white was.
The little white on the other hand was gazing into Bamre's eyes. THe little one thought out, I wouldn't mind food, that was hard work. Thankyou for saving me. Oh and mine, my name is Purth.
This little green suddenly seemed to have made up her mind. She walked swiftly toward the girls, shoving aside anyone that even got near her that she didn't want. She walked right up to Kafrata and said, Mine, you will feed your Ciaoth right now. And do I look pretty enough, I'm not quite sure if I am presentable Kafrata replied, Of course, you are the most beautiful little hatching. No golden queen could ever look as good as you and with that Kafrata took her little green to feed it.
egg 11:It is a clash of different reddish colors. rider: Bamre Dragon name: Purth Came From: Pur is French for Pure Color: This egg looked to hold a green, while in truth it held a small dragon that was definitely a white with just a too thick shell. white. This white is a pure and uncolored white. Purth is a little awkward looking, but no more that the forgotten legend of old. Purth is neither male nor female. Personality: This dragon is very intelligent and very caring. This dragon will never be late to anything because of it s perfect betweens. It can between times and places without any trouble at all. Betweening times is not known of except around the goldriders, bronzeriders, and now the new white. This dragon will never fly after a flight. This dragon could sort of be considered a pal, because he is never limited to what he is allowed to do. All options are open for this little white. His rider does not use an honorific. color code: White
egg 7: It looked like a fiery red sunset that was obscured from view by a bunch of night sky dots of different sizes all over it. Rider: Kafrata Dragon name: Ciaoth Came form: Ciao is Italian for hello Color: Ciaoth could be considered a lime green, with a couple of swirls and patches of hunter green that stood out on the lime green hide like black stands out on white. She also has a couple of mint green patches on her wingsails and is a very large green dragon. Personality: She is very haughty and doesn't like people to treat her like she is anything less than a queen dragon. She will throw a fit if anyone treats her as "just a green". She admires her beauty and she is very selfish. She wants everyone else to do everything for her, after all, why should she work? Color Code: 00FF00

Melir's eyes widened as the Brown sniffed at him, but it was only a few seconds before he moved on to inspect another boy. He impressed to Jator, and Melir smiled his congratulations at the other boy as he went to greet his dragon. The next egg to hatch was a beautiful little green who looked over the candidates but didn't Impress yet. He knew that greens could be picky, and sometimes even went to the stands for just the right candidate, so he wasn't sure.
He didn't even notice the struggling egg until Bamre suddenly jumped out of the line to run to it. Melir gawked, stunned. F'mar had told them not to interfere with any of the eggs. Bamre seemed like a good guy, so he must have some really good reason for doing that.
He grinned at the sight of the White. It must have spoken to Bamre from the egg. He clapped lightly at the Impressions, and then anxiously turned his gaze back to the eggs, wondering what could come next.
***
Maylina watched as the Brown impressed to Jator. She was a little surprised, having expected that he would impress a Bronze, but a Brown wasn't bad either. The next hatchling to arrive was a Green. Even Maylina had to admit how pretty she was, and she allowed herself to admire the dragonet's hide even though she was "just" a Green, not a metallic.
She jumped in surprise as Bamre ran at an egg and started beating it up. She knew that boy was crazy! Why else wouldn't he like her?
Then, she saw a White come out of the egg. She snorted. Bamre would be perfect for a little White. They were sweet, but weak, just like him. Then the Green impressed, and Maylina was relieved to see her go to another girl. That was one less competition for the Gold egg.
***
F'mar sat in the stands, proudly watching "his" candidates. He was less than pleased, however, when Bamre ran up to one of the eggs. "Hey!" He started, jumping up, but a bronze tail shot out and blocked his path. Wait and see, mine.
"You better be right," F'mar grumbled, sitting back down again.
Antagyth was, of course. F'mar smiled as Bamre helped a little white out of his (or her? F'mar didn't know) egg.

Jator watched the brown, out of the corner of his eye he saw Bamre run onto the Sands and hit an...was he trying to break it or help it Hatch?
Then...he looked back down at the brown at his feet. "Well, hi there..." And then -click-. The brown's voice in his mind, sort of curling around his own thoughts, uniting with them. "Bonjouth."
He was a brownrider. That just felt so, so -right-. "We need to get you some food." Big time, he thought, feeling the dragonet's hunger.
Brown. Wow. He had hoped...

Oh, many eggs at once! And three had hatched and impressed! A beautiful green! A ... white was it? And a brown! Zenniel shivered, momentarily forgetting her shyness. She smiled happily, clasping her hands, a smile showing over her face. How could one be shy when one was watching a hatching?
Mura, on the other hand, had alighted on a small outcroping of rock and was chirping and whirring. Arum, who was not yet old enough to fly like that, was just flapping his wings and watching. Arum had given Zenniel more strength than Mura had. That's why Zen had named Arum that.
Oh, what color would hatch next? A blue?
