Midmorning, a time when the sun is still rising in the sky and some people are still getting up. Not for Lysita though, as the young Weyrwoman was already awake and collaborating with the headwoman on the menu for the hatching feast that would happen when Kellerth's eggs hatched. Even though the young gold hadn't even laid her eggs yet, Lysita wanted to be sure that they'd have everything prepared for the feast in advance.
"Make sure there are plenty of roots and tubers. We don't want to be running out before everyone has gotten some." She cautioned the headwoman, her gaze shifting to climb the wall after she'd spoken, Kellerth's restlessness reaching her even as the gold slept. Until she felt the dragon's mind coming awake, barely taking notice of what the woman before her was saying. I believe it is time Sitamine. I am going to the hatching grounds. Came the voice that had become as familiar as her own.
"I'm sorry, Kellerth is on her way to the hatching grounds so I must be going. We'll continue the planning another time." Lysita told the headwoman, giving her an apologetic smile before she turned and headed towards the large cavern where she herself stood when Kellerth hatched.
"Two already?" Lysita blinked in surprise but smiled as she entered the cavern, making her way to Kellerth's head. She caressed the soft golden muzzle, softly encouraging her wonderful lifemate. When will your hatchling come? Kellerth asked when her body relaxed between laying eggs.
"Not for a good few months yet sweetheart, and I hope that you'll keep me sane and not let me send F'mar away, cause I'll need him." Lysita responded, smiling brightly as she continued to stroke her beloved dragon's muzzle.
Several hours passed before Kellerth was adament that no more eggs were coming and Lysita hugged Kellerth's muzzle, looking over the amazing array of 14 eggs.
"Call them then, if you're ready." The young girl, for she was still a girl, encouraged her lifemate gently. Antagyth! Come and see our beautiful eggs, and bring F'mar with you. Kellerth called to her mate, the use of his rider's name making Lysita even happier. She knew dragons only used the names of riders they liked.
