C'lyn had not been seen all day. Early that morning, the ex weyrleader had vanished from the skies above Allride. Now his bronze popped out of Between with ease, backwinging towards the bowl. Not that his return was likely to go unobserved. Sleepy greetings came from a couple of dragons that were dozing and sunning on the rim.
His face was less grim than it had been, with Happy perched on one shoulder...who knew where his blue was, but the speckled firelizard seldom went far from his human.
Not that from a distance, Happy didn't look like a particularly large and grey blue himself...

Even though Kellerth was on the sands with her eggs, she insisted the Lysita stay in her own bed instead of moving to the sands. It just so happened that Lysita had been taking a nap when Kellerth nudged at her mind. Kylith returns! Came the familiar voice of her dragon and instantly aroused the young Weyrwoman. Lysita got up and went out to her ledge, confirming with her eyes what her dragon had said. She walked down the ramp to the bowl floor, which wasn't really far, and headed over to the ex-weyrleader.
"C'lyn. You seemed better. Are you?" She enquired lightly, as Muud came zipping up to them, chirping a greeting. The brown certainly had plenty of kindness in him, and Lysita found that endearing. Especially after she'd been worried about the former weyrleader, Kelyna's death had hit him the hardest of all.
"Would you like to come and check on Kellerth with me?" She asked, hoping that perhaps she could help cheer him up further by letting him see the eggs. Not that he wouldn't already know they'd been laid, but seeing them was a different matter. She knew Kellerth was fine, but if he got him to go with her, then there couldn't be any harm in it. Besides, it wasn't like it was a lie, she did want to see if Kellerth needed to feed, or even just spread her wings for a while.

"She laid a good clutch," C'lyn noted. He did indeed seem better...although a lot of that might be put down to the firelizard. In truth, the start of the man's recovery could be clearly dated to his Impression of the speckled flit.
Happy, living up to his name, chirpled to Lysita, then took off to fly a circle around her. He was definitely too big to be a blue of his age, although not yet full grown. "Should I send Happy away?"
Some golds would snap at firelizards who flew into the Hatching grounds while they were...occupied. Some would not. He was not sure into which group Kellerth fit yet.

"No, he can stay. Kellerth wouldn't harm a trundlebug. Although I expect the same might not be able to be said of Antagyth, but he doesn't stay on the sands." Lysita responded to C'lyn's question, a hint of laughter mingled with the words in a teasing way. She smiled softly at him before turning to lead him towards the hatching grounds, of course he knew the way, but still, she walked slightly ahead.
"Kellerth dear, I've brought C'lyn to see the eggs." She spoke aloud for the bronzerider's benefit, walking over to stand by the golden dragon's head. Hello C'lyn. You're welcome to come and see them, just don't touch them. They aren't hard enough yet. The gold's voice was warm and gentle, the warning more casual then worried as she flicked her tongue gently over the nearest egg. There was no pattern to the eggs, they were just all at Kellerth's side, all sizes mixed with each other.

C'lyn smiled weakly. "I know not to touch eggs without permission and I know they won't be hard yet."
They would need more Candidates...it was a shame Kylith was above riding Search, although he thought he might go with a Searchrider anyway. If they had to take Candidates from the mainland it would have to be a raid of sorts, in and out before the Council found out about it. And those young people would have to understand that they chose exile.
Not that Allride was a harsh place to be these days, but he knew the Council would never allow him...or more accurately Kylith...near any community weyrhold.
