Something was bothering Bonjouth. That, naturally, meant something was bothering J'tor. The brownrider had given up on pacing their Weyr and come down to the dining hall for a midnight snack.
It almost seemed as if his dragon knew something was going to happen. Something bad. It wasn't the restlessness that preceded a queen's rising.
It was probably just some kind of nightmare Bonjouth was trying not to tell him about, trying to spare him from. They did that sometimes, when they knew it was nothing to worry the other half of the bond with.
Hand wrapped around a cup of herbal tea...klah would have made sure he never got back to bed...J'tor stared into space.
He trusted his dragon. And something was not, quite, right.

Everyone around Karlyn felt uneasy. Everyone was restless. Her firelizards fixed up tension from dragons and humans, and she was having to block out all of the images her firelizards were forcing at her.
She had a headache from all of the annoying creatures that were fluttering in and out of between, flying round her head, or trying to hide in her hair.
Finally she shouted with her mind QUIET! of course, the firelizards din't understand words, so this command was backed with images of happy quiet firelizards all on her.
She didn't quite expect them to all decide she wanted them on her now, and the creatures settled onto her like she was a giant walking coat rack. She gave up because at least they weren't bombarding her with images and chittering at her.
She could still feel that they were nervous, but at least she had to peace. She decided to get herself some klah to help with how tired she was and her headache. The bitter klah always seemed to soothe her headaches and helped her to think clearer. Often she was able to communicate better with her slightly stupid firelizards.
She felt slightly self conscious walking into the dining hall because she was covered in firelizards. Carrot and Proud were on top of her head, waterfall was hanging upside down from her bet, and the rest were crowded somewhere on her shoulders, hair, and arms. Dolor's nest in her hair was particularly painful. She ignored the stares, grabbed a cup of klah, and went to sit at table with a brown rider who was starring off into space. She carefully sipped at the bitter hot klah in her hands.
She could feel that Waterfall was only holding her belt with one claw now, and that he was upright on the bench beside her. At least he didn't look to weird anymore.

J'tor glanced up...and couldn't help but laugh. "Okay, who's under all the firelizards?"
The image had completely distracted him from whatever was bothering Bonjouth. Something was. Perhaps the Council was planning something again. If so, who would they go after? The young gold was the obvious target.
They did not want Allride to thrive. They feared those they could not control...why did people have to be so much about control.
"I know there's a human under there *somewhere*. Three greens, a blue, and whatever else there was in the mess of firelizard...what a fair.
Zig and Zag appeared from Between and flitted around. The green landed on his shoulder, but as usual the brown was too shy to do that.
