Aphrodie followed the aqua wings of Ocean across the bowl towards the lake. Shimi adorned the girl's left shoulder, and she shamelessly talked to her firelizards.
"So, Malaracyth was caught by Kilith again. There's going to be eggs."
Shimi, being green, had no interest in eggs. Ocean, though, circled back.
"Yeah, you'll have eggs eventually. Both of you will."
And her dragon?
She knew what she wanted. She doubted she would get it. But green or blue would be fine...anything would be fine.
And then she heard a commotion. And the -black- queen was taking to the sky.
That might easily double her chances of being chosen. She turned to watch, distracting feelings from the flight flowing through her.
But they mingled with exultation. -Two- clutches? She no longer wanted to just go through the motions of being a candidate.
Surely two clutches would contain her dragon.
Unless, of course, Renth wasn't fertile...

Andol was walking to the beach with Leaf sitting on his shoulders and her tail was curled around his neck. He then saw Aphrodie. He walked troward her smiling becuase she was one of the few people that he was not afraid of. He then said " Hey Aphrodie." He then noticed he was looking at the sky. He looked up and saw the black dragon had taken flight and he felt the distracting feelings from the flight flowing through him. He then crouched down in his fravotie sitting postion to wacth the flight like she was doing.

Aphrodie watched Renth climb upwards. "I hope she lays eggs," the girl said, softly, but not too softly. "More chances for us."
And what kind of dragons would come from the black's clutch? Probably quite the variety. Still, most likely, a bunch of blues and greens. But...
The more new colors, the greater her chance of the dragon she had come to dream of...

Andol looked at the black. He thought she was quite pretty he just wished she was abit nicer. He then said cheerfully " Don't worry I think that she will. Plus the fact that she is a new color just incerases the chances that her childern will be new colors. That is if she lays eggs in the first place." He hoped and prayed the black dragon did lay eggs becuase in his opintion that just ment that he had more chances to have a dragon that was pink. Even though such a dragon had not appered yet.

"And you want...what?" Aphrodie considered that. "I wouldn't mind a female brown."
She shrugged. "I just want a dragon. Any dragon. Any that wants me will be more than good enough. And if not, I go back to crafting."
Until the next clutch. She was going to try again. Of course, these eggs would likely hatch a sevenday or two apart. So... "But two clutches would be nice." She showed Andol her crossed fingers.

Andol looked at her and siad " I really just want a blue. Though if there are any new muatitions then I would want one of those. Though really I just hope that I impress somthing." His opintion on what he wanted was basiclly the same as Aphriode's. He did not care what he impressed just so long as he impressed somthing.

She wasn't sure she was a greenrider 'type', but she'd seen enough now to know that the stereotypes didn't hold true. People were not always what the holders said.
And dragons chose as they will. "I think a blue would be more than fine, actually."

Andol looked up at her and siad " Yes you siad that you would be fine with a blue or a green. Yet what color do you really want?" Andol already knew what color he truly wanted yet he did not think that was possiable becuase of his personiallty. Yet as his brother had told him on many occisions it was just best to wait and see. Yet that was not going to stop Andol from wishing.

Aphrodie laughed. "If there's another female brown, then that's what I want. But there might not be, so..."
She shrugged a bit. "And I know I don't get to decide. I get what happens to pick me. And I won't treat my dragon as second class."

Andol looked at her and siad seruiously " I know you wouldn't. Becuase you are a good person. Anyone who treat there dragon as such is not worth the dirt that they walk one. I don't care how good of a person they are to everyone else or what good they have done. They are still dirt for treating a such a butiful, loyal and loving creature that way." Andol prefered the company of firelizards and dragons over people. It was one of the traits he shared with his brother.

She wasn't sure. Andol could Impress green, right? It could certainly happen, although she still felt blue more likely.
He was too quiet for brown or bronze or...silver?

Andol just siad " Of course I will. I mean who would not be. If you not then I don't see why you are trying to impress anyway. I mean dragons are not just pawn's you can try to use to gain stauts. If you are going to care for it then it is obvious that the dragon will be better off with a differnt lifemate anyway." Andol did not know many who would not be very happy with a dragon and would love them. Yet he knew that it was possiable.

What kind of status would Bamre have when he graduated? Or Tirlyna? The coppers and sapphires were easy enough...

Andol thought about that for a moment. " Yes I can see how some people make not like that. Yet that is no excuse to take it out on your dragon for what color it is. You should be made at the system not your dragon. You should love it no matter what color it is." Andol beileved that there was no reason or excuse for a rider to treat there dragon as second class.

Aphrodie shrugged. "If I'd stayed a crafter, then I might have been stuck at journeyman because of politics. It's the same thing."
She'd go back to her craft, of course, if she never Impressed. She wondered what Andol would do.
