C'lyn had had to get out of the Weyr for a few hours. He and Kilith had spent a pleasant afternoon on the beach. Until, that was, his blue firelizard had squawked to get his attention. A nest of eggs! Ten of them, and a gold guarding. He'd waited until she and her fair were the most occupied...and then stolen the eggs, flying straight back to the Weyr with the basket of treasures. Now he had them settled by the dining hall hearth. He thought the gold one with the feathered patterns was a gold, but was not sure about the others. There was a black one, a dark bluish gray, a red one with gold streaks. Another was red and green in chunks, one was sandy brown with squiggles all over it, almost like writing, another a dusty red color and one white with black lines criss crossing across its form. The last egg was almost an emerald green, an ugly color, really...far too bright, so it looked almost poisonous. They were about to hatch...very close, in fact. OOC: Okay, guys! Ten firelizard eggs about to hatch! Get your characters in there...the best post gets something bright colored .

Bamre sat in the dining hall reading to himself. He was really only half paying attention to the book as he read with his thought still racing through his mind. He sighed and looked around then back down at his book again thinking to himself I am getting bored. He then sighed again and closed his book and looked up at the roof dining hall and back down thinking about home and what he had left. Then he pulled up his shirt sleeve and looked at the scars that were on his arm. He rubbed his arm over them remembering the pain of making the cuts and the little miracle that had got him to stop. Yes he remembered it.
His eyes examined around the room finding nothing that was really interesting that he wanted to look at like he usually did when sitting alone. Then he reached up to Iron perch on his shoulder instinctively to pet him, but found he was not there. The thought began to run through his head because he had not noticed while he was reading that Iron was not there Hmmm I wonder were the little guy is. It was not long after he had thought this that Iron came from Between right above his head and flew down and landed on his shoulder. Bamre then looked at him and said “Hello my little friend where have you been.” He then reached up and began to scratch Iron right above his eye ridge. Bamre looked at Iron and could feel that he was enjoying it so he continued to scratch him. Then all of a sudden Iron jumped off Bamre shoulders and began trying to get his attention. Bamre asked “What is my little friend.”
That was when he noticed the little eggs sitting by the hearth. He then stood up and went over to where they were. He then stood there and examined them for a few second then he crouched down and reached out and touched a few very gently. He then felt Iron land on shoulder and wrap his tail around his neck. He kept looking at them as he reached up to pet Iron. He began to think about when he had Impressed Iron as he looked at the eggs.
Then he looked at Iron saying to him “What do you think my little friend? You think maybe that they are going to hatch soon.” He then looked back at the eggs and said “Really you think so that would be very nice.” He then began stare at all the different colored eggs. He soon looked at the egg that looked different and thought Hmmm I wonder why it looks different. Well they all look different, but it is quite bright looking. Well no matter a firelizard egg is a firelizard egg. He then just sat down crossed his leg and stared at the eggs because he really could not find anything better in this dining hall to look at.

Darket, noticing the little batch of eggs brought in walked over. Maybe he could impress to a flit, it would be fun to have a flit like his sister's because Verde was pretty cool. Walking over he said, "Can I have a flit egg?"

Bamre looked up at Darket and said " Hi Darket. Are you hoping to get one of these little eggs too. I wanted one so I could have anthoer firelizard to keep Iron company."

"I think a flit would be awesome, maybe I could play with it and teach it cool tricks. I have heard that if trained right they can do some awesome maneuvers and other stuff," Darket said excitedly. The idea of having his own flit excited him.

Bamre repiled thinking about Iron sitting on his shoulder " Yeah that would be fun to teach them tricks. I never thought about doing that with Iron before I mostly just kept him for company. That is the main reason I want anthoer one is to have two little freinds to talk to."

F'mar was in the candidate barracks, looking over some homework that the candidates had turned in earlier that day. Antagyth, who was always "in" on the Weyr gossip, suddenly interrupted his work with a surprising announcement. Mine, there are firelizard eggs in the kitchen. I suppose you want one of the annoying little creatures?[/color]
F'mar smiled and nodded. Actually, I do, even though I know you aren't happy about it, he answered his Bronze. He had never wanted a firelizard before, but now he thought that it would be helpful to have an "assistant" to deliver messages and keep an eye on the candidates when he wasn't around.
He stopped in the kitchen to pick up some meat, and then he hurried to the dining hall. There was already a small group gathered around the hearth, and F'mar joined them. "Good job finding those eggs, C'lyn," He told the other Bronzerider. He winked at the two candidates. "Sure you can handle a baby firelizard and a dragon?"

Turning toward the bronze rider Darket said, "Of course I can keep up with two, it's just like taking care of a bunch of baby beast witch I am sure I could also do. I want to train this flit to do cool stuff." Darket said this both excitedly and proudly, not even thinking about manners to the bronze rider.

C'lyn grinned at F'mar. "Yeah, I got lucky...and a second while I work out..."
He was going to say who to give what egg to, but at that point the brown egg jumped and *chinked* against one of the other eggs. "Ack! Okay...everyone who wants some grab some food. They're hatching!"
The red and green egg began to shiver and shudder. Then it burst open to reveal a very small blue hatchling, small even for a blue. He shook egg shards off himself and peered at the humans rather bemusedly.

Bamre just smiled and said " I am sure I can keep up with all three of them if I kept up with this little guy." He point to Iron. Then he saw the eggs crack and he did what C'lyn said and he grabed some food and waited to see what to do next.

Darket grabbed food and waited. What would be the next instruction he wondered. He had never impressed a flit before so he didn't know what to do.
Kelyna walked in at that moment and saw the flit eggs hatching. Smiling to C'lyn she said, "Decided to get a big batch I see."

The blue shook himself again. He looked at each person, and then pounced towards food. Food...and Darket. The first choice was made, the tiny blue settling at his feet.
Now the sandy brown egg fell open in two neat halves. Its occupant was a green so dark as to be almost black. She chirpled at her brother before looking around.
The dark gray egg was distinctly rocking now, as was the pure black one.

Darket was amazed as he started giving the little flit as much food as he could without over stuffing. He didn't leave, thinking that maybe he might impress more, there was no limit.
Kelyna watched with a faint smile on her face, remembering her impression to Malaracyth. She didn't want to impress just watch.
