And'l was paying a lot of attention to his weyrmates firelizard at this point. Though out of the cornor of his eye he was wacthing for his own. "Awww Uu'ian... he is so very cute." He reached out and began to softly pet the creature that his weyrmate was holding. He hoped that it would not bite him, sinice it was indeed the cutest thing in the entire world. Andol was odd like that. Even though Jasper was always fussing and hissing, And'l loved to try and pet the creature even though he had gotten bit a few times. He just hoped that maybe this one would not do the same.
His eyes then wondered back to the eggs that had hacthed as he wondered what could possiably come out of them. He also wondered if maybe they would be getting a new color or not. It seemed as though somthing new showed up at every hacthing now a days. Which was ok with him becuase that just ment that there was more of them to impress. He held out his food hoping... just hoping that one would come over to him and impress him.
(Sorry it is so short XP)

And then the brown tapped the egg again, and it started to crack open. Apparently satisfied, the solid, ever dutiful brown turned around, then flitted right to Lysita.
She would be a good choice, for who would know better about loyalty and duty than a goldrider?
And the egg split right down the middle revealing something likely unexpected by all...but not moving very quickly.
Was that...could that be...could that possibly be a *white* firelizard?

Lysita had turned her gaze to the eggs a few moment ago, watching and waiting for the next one to hatch. Soon enough one did, revealing a lovely brown that didn't hesitate in choosing and came right over to her.
"Well hello there." She murmured softly, stroking over the still damp head with one hand as she reached for some meat with the other. Until her attention was caught by the cracking of another egg. She watched, almost mesmerized as the shell gave way, and left in it's place was a white firelizard.
"Oh, the darling thing." She murmured, looking around at those gathered and wondering if she should just let it sort itself out, or if she should help it. Sure, she had the little brown to feed and name, but that one just looked so, well, helpless.

She'd just gotten off her work at the Infirmary when she thought she'd heard something strange. Her bright, chipper smile faded to a small one as she followed the sound, almost instinctively.
Synchella froze, then tilted her head to the side. A strange humming was...
She turned and darted in the direction of the noise, her eyes wide in shock. A hatching...firelizards? Feeling strangely shy as the humming grew louder, she carefully peeked into the room, then edged in, looking at the eggs with bewildered hope.
Her voice was soft and hesitant, watching the small creatures hatch and stumble into the world. Even watching little creatures, mini dragons as it were, Impress was awe inspiring. Hope stumbled over adoration at the sight of the little creatures. Running one hand through her hair, she bashfully edged closer. The little ones were almost all hatched, and she didn't know if it was okay for her to be there...
She wondered if the Impressions would be like this...she hoped she wouldn't feel so shy when she was confronted with larger dragon eggs upon the Hatching grounds. Synchella loved dragons, and her gentle adoration of them transcended even her love of compliments and flirting.

Good notHis. Fury paused in his eating to praise And’l with a soft chirping sound. Wasn’t he a clever human to recognise Fury’s greatness…
Uu’ian laughed softly. ‘He’s an ego with wings you mean.’ The bronzerider responded though his voice was obviously affectionate. ‘Just wait until you upset him, if he’s anything like Jasper you won’t find him so cute then.’ Not that he wanted Fury to particularly live up to his name, he’d be happy with a significantly mellower firelizard than Jasper.
----
Z’mir watched as the brown firelizard tapped at the egg he was watching, and once he was satisfied it was hatching properly, find someone to bond with. Although he did feel a pang of envy that Lysita managed to Impress the brown rather than him it did seem a very good match since the firelizard obviously cared about eggs hatching properly. Probably the little beast had more to offer than that, but it was hard to tell based on less than a minute of observation.
What the brown had encouraged to hatch made X’mir blink and lean a little closer, though only a little, he didn’t want to risk the aqua queen’s anger, or block anyone’s view. Was that firelizard white, or just a very pale shade of some other colour? Well it would be easier to see one it got over the effort of hatching and started moving he supposed.
----
Confused though she might have been by suddenly older people turning up (She’d have to try and get the full story out of Tirlynna later she supposed), Idara did remember her manners enough to greet Lysita’s appearance with a smile and a nod before returning her attention the clutch at Tuinth’s silent insistence. Idara wasn’t sure if she should treat the other queenrider as a rival now, technically, she thought they should be, but since their fates were to be defined by events far beyond their control there seemed no point in being uncivil about the whole business.
Tuinth cooed happily over each baby firelizard in the back of Idara’s mind, Idara didn’t actually think her gold particularly wanted her to Impress a firelizard, Tuinth just wanted to see the eggs hatch. It must be getting close for the gold to have some babies of her own, although Idara had been thinking that for over a turn. Just the high concentration of queens in one place she guessed, ignoring the nagging worry that line of thought always caused.
So lost in her thoughts was the goldrider that she quite failed to notice the latest firelizard to hatch was another unusual one. She tended to just take odd colours in stride now.
----
Watching Z’mir’s expression was becoming a little boring now, and Zamora honestly had expectation of Impressing anything, she didn’t think she had the right kind of personality for firelizards (not that she’d ever thought she’d Impress a brown dragon either). For a moment she wondered if having a second goldrider in the room was going to set off any sparks, but they appeared to be absent mindedly polite to each other.
However the sight of someone new slipping around the door did mildly interest Zamora. The girl who’d just entered looked so nerve wracked that for one moment Zamora suffered a mean impulse to go and challenge her and see what her reaction would be. However as that would just be an incredibly awful thing to do, as well as something that would get her, and maybe her brother, ejected from the hatching Zamora resisted the impulse firmly. However she did drift towards the other girl and offer a smile that she hoped looked reassuring.

Smiling as someone approached her, especially someone with a smile instead of a glare, indicating she was intruding, she relaxed for a moment. The baby fire lizards were entrancing, Impressions being made right before her eyes. Something she wanted with all her being.
Soon, she thought. I'm a Candidate now. I won't have to wait that long for my dreams to come true.
Truth be told, she knew even if she didn't Impress, she would still be able to follow her dream to work as a healer. She loved helping. She was hard put to look past the fire lizards to the woman who had noticed her, but Synchella managed it somehow. She had a special awe of the dragon riders, who had attained the dream of Impression, but she had learned to not act like a dimglow around them.
"Hello, I hope I'm not intruding. I just followed the humming and...they are beautiful aren't they?" She said, eyes drifting back to the remaining eggs Hatching. She probably couldn't have said anything more intelligent at that time, her heart squeezing in a strange manner, watching others Impress the flits.

Karlyn noticed the new girl and smiled at her over the feeding of the new little green in her arms. She made no noise, but she was crooning to the young green with her mind. It sent the little green to sleep in the crook of her right arm.
Then she sent Proud to greet the other girl and to greet the woman she didn't know. If this girl was new, they were both in the same boat. Karlyn might have been born at the weyr, but she hadn't been in this time since she was four. She knew for most people that the girl they had once known would also be a stranger to them.

Synchella moved forward, watching an egg move close to where she was. She turned a moment at the girls words. A green was nestled in her arms and her gaze softened with adoration. By the Egg, she'd never witnessed a Hatching before...the moment felt like it should be frozen forever. She wished for a fire lizard then of her own, feeling desperately greedy for her thought.
Isn't it enough you're a Candidate? Do all your dreams need to come true? But there were more eggs hatching than people here. Would the fire lizards just go free of their own accord then? Might they be happier with humans? It probably made no difference to them, but she wondered, wondered if maybe she could provide a fire lizard with a happy home.
She'd certainly love it enough, she thought quietly.
Suddenly her thoughts were interrupted by a bronze firelizard. She peered up, and saw past the bronze to its companion, a girl who smiled at her as she fed her Green. Making her way over to the girl, she nodded at the Green.
"Congratulations on your Impression. Thats a lovely Green," she said softly, though her eyes scanned back to the nearest egg.
She blushed a bit. She was being rude. But how could one remain trained on anyone else when their was a Hatching going on? The girl's bronze was sure adorable though. She scratched behind his eye ridges, thinking it must be even more wonderful to have more than one flitter.

T'relm did not want a flitt. He had spent the last fifteen minutes or so arguing about it with his dragon, but Embutidoth was insistent, and he was not going to refuse his dragon. So now T'relm was walking onto the sands carrying a bowl of meat for the hatchlings. Please get a cute one, mine![/color] the Copper asked him plaintively.
T'relm sighed. Yes, Emmy, I'll try my best, he told her. He nodded a greeting at Aphrodie and joined the crowd gathered around the eggs.

And'l wacthed curiously as the brown seemed to want to mess with one of the other eggs. It was a intersting site and was somthing that he had not seen before... it was almost as though he was trying to... wait a mintue... he had seen this once before. Only it had been his brother doing this. His eyes grew wide as he realized what could very well be inside of that egg. Though he was not even sure if that was possiable, could the really even be a white firelizard. He wondered if having his brother and Trylinna going back in time affected it? Maybe there firelizard had created the mutations in the flits in the first place, plus the fact that a white was the orginal mutation so it had to happen eventually.
That was when he saw the little guy spill out of his egg, and form his vantage point, it indeed looked like a white firelizard! Though it could be one that was just very very pale or of a new color like Mystery. Though he hoped that it was a white, but he figured that it would just be better to wait until it impressed to find out. He turned to Uu'ian and pointed in the direction of the new firelizard and said, "Did you see that? It looks like that brown, freed that one form it's egg." He still found it intersting, becuase even if he was wrong... he had not seen a flit do that for a another in any hacthing he had been too. Lystia was lucky to have impressed a good one.

The little white managed a rather weak chirple, then padded towards And'l. Slowly. He got about halfway there before he flopped on his belly, regarding the sapphirerider pitifully. It was just too much WORK. Two more eggs were now rocking violently. They kissed against each other and cracked open. One pink head and one blue head popped out, looking at each other as if they did not know what to make of one another. Aphrodie, staying back a little as she did NOT want another firelizard, had her eyes mostly on the white. Trust Ocean to do *something* odd with her first clutch. It looked like it was heading for And'l. (OOC: Yes, I know, the white flit is going to the guy with a white dragon. Its a contest prize )

T'relm watched as the weak little White crawled up to And'l. It was just like the White dragon that had hatched, and like the dragon, it would probably need a lot of care to grow up strong. "If you want, I can have a look at him when you're done feeding him," he offered, moving over to the Sapphire rider to get a better look.
Then two more eggs hatched. T'relm glanced at them, seeing a confused looking blue and pink. The pink was a new color, wasn't it? And there was no way to know if the blue was actually a Blue or a Sapphire.

A little white one! She clasped her hands together, smiling brightly at the little ones as two more rocked. The white one was crawling towards another person standing around the Hatching. Then the two she'd seen before rocked, and touched, and two little heads appeared. A blue one and a...pink? Yes the other one appeared to be pink! How precious, she thought.
She wondered at the little creatures..and the dragon Hatching would be even more amazing! She couldn't even imagine it...being so close to such an event...it was breathtaking just seeing these little ones break out and find their humans.
Looking for a moment again at those around the table, she saw several many were dragon riders. What did their dragons make of the little ones emergence in the world?

Uu’ian spared a glance from Fury to look at the small, pale firelizard. It didn’t look like Mystery for all it was a similar colour, if the brown had indeed freed it, could it be the firelizard equivalent of Purth? The question did occupy Uu’ian long as his newest pet nibbled on his fingertips in a demand for more food.
While the Bronzerider was stuffing more meat in Fury’s mouth (how much more could the tiny beast even eat?) The white firelizard chirped and moved away from the nest, right for And’l. Uu’ian might have been to occupied to notice the Impression but his grown firelizards certainly did, Steadfast offered a low encouraging chatter before resuming his humming, and Mystery gave a shrill whistle of delight, apparently thrilled to welcome another firelizard to the group that lived with him.
----
Zamora let the smile drop from her face once the girl seemed a little more at ease, it wasn’t an expression that often appeared on the brownrider’s solemn face for any great length of time. ‘Of course you aren’t. Aphordie’s letting anyone who turns up have a chance at Impressing one of the babies. I think she feels she has enough firelizars for now.’ Zamora gestured at the copperrider, who was standing some ways back from the eggs, allowing others, like Z’mir, the chance to get closer and Impress. ‘You should probably move up a bit if you want a good chance.’ Zamora advised, just as a brown firelizard, a grown one, fluttered over to the pair of them with a greeting from his bonded, the girl who recently Impressed a green. She must have nearly as much of a way with firelizards as the whiterider to judge by the amount she’d come in with.
Making her way over to the brown’s bonded in the wake of the girl she’d just been talking to Zamora nodded her agreement. ‘Yes, she is lovely. You must have quite some affinity for firelizards to have so many look to you.’ The brownrider commented with another brief smile passing over her face.
----
Z’mir shook his head hopelessly as he caught sight of Zamora moving around near the rear of the crowd and passing a few quiet words with to of the girls back there. Wasn’t that just like her? A firelizard hatching and his sister was using it to talk to other people! Sometimes Z’mir just despaired of her, he really did.
Whatever colour the newest firelizard to hatch actually was it padded off decisively, evidently having decided who it was going to pick. Z’mir just hoped he got the chance to find out more about it later, including whether it was even male or female.
The silverrider’s attention turned very firmly back towards the few eggs that were left as two of the more active ones bumped together lightly and revealed one pink and one blue head. Wasn’t that just adorable? Z’mir’s mind weighed up the chances that the blue head belonged to a female blue like the clutchmother. He couldn’t see any feet as yet and had no clue what size such firelizards were when they actually hatched, which made it rather hard to guess. Probably a blue as there were only two aquas about but many, many blues. The pink, of course would be a male, too. It was a good the thing firelizards didn’t put the same gender connotations on colour as humans did otherwise the pink firelizards would have been roundly mocked.
----
There seemed to be quite some stir about the newest hatchling, Idara noted, watching the little flit make his way towards his chosen with half an eye on the eggs so she could turn her attention back there for the next hatching. An iquiring thought was sent towards Tuinth but the gold was totally wrapped up in observing and adoring the newest dragon kin to make it into the world. Idara gave a slight shrug, she could always pester Tuinth later. Right now another pair eggs was hatching and Idara turned her full attention back to the clutch and the slightly dazed looking hatchlings that were escaping from their eggs.
