Kelyna calmed Malaracyth down. Malaracyth wasn't too happy about others even looking at the eggs, and touching them was worse, but it was a needed messure that was discovered in the ninth pass and done ever since. F'mar should soon be coming down with the candidates to touch the eggs. Kelyna was getting impatient with this waiting.

Tirlynna followed F'mar. At the edge of the Sands, she hesitated, then stepped out onto them. She bowed gracefully to the queen. With her brother not here, maybe she could get away with not touching the gold.
No, somebody would probably tell on her. She'd visit it briefly before focusing on the smaller eggs. She hoped.

((Everyone, pretend you were present for this speech, unless you purposely want your candidate to be late. This way I don't have to give it a million time. )) F'mar gathered up the candidates, then held them at the entrance to the Hatching Sands. "All right, everyone, listen up. Malacryth is on edge, naturally, so don't do anything to upset her. Bow to the Queen and Weyrwoman before touching the eggs, and if you see any signs that Malacryth isn't happy with you, move away from the clutch right away. Don't go near the Gold egg without asking. Be gentle with the eggs. They don't break easily, but you still have to be careful. And don't be alarmed if you feel some emotions when you touch an egg. That's perfectly normal." He paused to let his words sink in, then nodded. "I think that's it. You can head in now, but remember all of those rules, and Kelyna and I will be watching you." He watched the candidates file in, then went to stand beside Kelyna. "They seem like a fine bunch of candidates," he reassured her. "Malacyrth's eggs should have plenty of choice.

"Just hurry them through!" Kelyna snapped. She hadn't meant to snap at F'mar, but Malaracyth's feelings were getting to her. She was pacing in front of her dragon and biting her teeth together hard while Malaracyth stared down the candidates as they came to touch and see the eggs. Both couldn't wait for the egg touching to be done.

Levra walked in and bowed to Malaracyth and her rider Kelyna. She quickly asked, "May I go near the gold." She kind of wanted to ride a gold dragon. She planned on touching all the eggs, just to have a chance at every single egg. She also planned on touching the strange eggs, even though they didn't really interest her.
Darket bowed to the queen with a huge smile on his face. This was great! He quickly started touching the eggs closest to him, and not being really picky he just went along touching the egg closest to him, but he was always gentle so as not to upset Malaracyth or her rider, Kelyna.
Even though Getrara hadn't expected to be a candidate, she was pretty much fine with it. She camly walked in, bowed, and started touching eggs. She made sure not to go near the gold egg, for fear that Malaracyth might get mad at her.

Tirlynna began to move from egg to egg, focusing on those most likely to hold greens....to start with. The strange eggs, though, drew her a little, all three getting something of her attention, but the smallest...the smallest, she lingered by, peering at it. Why did it belong with that grouping?

"You like those strange ones," Zaren asked quietly. He didn't want to alert others about his talking to this girl. "I think that small one is too small, that's probably why its in the strange piles," Zaren said meaningfully, implying that it might be a dud.

Tirlynna considered. "It's very small, but my brother said he's seen greens or very small blues come out of eggs no bigger. It probably doesn't have, say, a brown or bronze in it, though."

"And I'm guessing that you wouldn't want to ride the dragon if it did have a brown or bronze in ti, especially since you would be the first female brown rider ever. I am also guessing that you probably wouldn't want it to be blue either, since there are not many female blue riders. What I guess is that you want it to be a green, am I right?" Zaren asked, thinking that that must be the reason that this girl had gone to this egg.

Tirlynna nodded. "I don't see myself as a bluerider anyway. I think I'm too...well...I'm very girly." She winked. "My brother said Kelyna was joking it might be a white dragon."

Zaren seriously considered the white dragon idea while leaning over to touch another egg. "It might be a white. They say that the other white was asexual and nobody could ever decide if it was male or female, which probably means that it could impress to anybody." It was a consideration. Smiling at the girl Zaren added, "yes definably too girly."

Tirlynna hrmed. "Or maybe it's...no...I don't think it's a dud." Reluctantly, she moved to another egg, but sticking to the smaller ones. At least until C'lyn showed up and started trying to harass her to touch the gold.

Still sticking around Tirlynna, he said, "Some claim that any small egg could be a dud, but I do not hold credit with that." Zaren touched any egg he came close to. He didn't really care about impressing, but since he was a candidate he should at least try to touch almost every egg, or so he figured.

Tirlynna shakes her head. "A large egg can be a dud, if there's something wrong with the hatchling. Smaller ones are more likely, though."

"I guess you are right, but I still hold with my theory that none of these eggs are duds. I think every one of them has a dragon inside of it that is quite normal, except maybe that super small egg, I think that holds a white dragon," Zaren said this all very confidently, like he was an expert on dragons.
