"I've heard of playful browns. I think a bronze would be cool though if I could get it," Darket said smiling brightly.
Levra kept her experssion schooled and said, "I think I could deal with work. I have had to deal with very hard work before."

Tirlynna nodded. "Good luck, then, but some of us have to ride the blues and greens anyway. More of them, after all. A fighting wing needs more."
If her brother was right and Thread was coming back...her stomach knotted for a moment, but she quickly got it under control.

"I have heard of playful blues, so that would be fine with me too. I really don't care, as long as my dragon isn't serious, shells, for all I care a green would be good as long as she was energetic," Darket said with a big smile. He just wanted a dragon and didn't care what the color.
Levra nodded in agreemant to her brother before adding, "If your brother is right about thread, we should have a queen's wing. If we have queen's fighting, we need flamethrowers. All in all, if thread comes again, Pern needs more qeens."

Tirlynna nodded. "If. With as few queens as we have, should we really let them fly at all?" A pause. "I know he was talking to the smiths, though. Trying to find good blueprints."

"If there are three queens, we might have enough queens to fly a queens wing. The weyr would definatly need flamethrowers too, but that's if thread ever comes back," Levra said, speculating more on what Tirlynna had said. Tirlynna might be good to befriend because she might know things that other candidates wouldn't. If she could keep herself from flaring up, she might be able to make herself become a friend.
Darket was just happy to see his sister not about to jump down Tirlynna's throat. He was happy to see his sister calm down and actually talk to some one other than himself.

"We'll need flamethrowers anyway if Thread comes back. For the ground crews," Tirlynna explained, simply. "So, having extra for the golds won't be difficult."

"I had forgotten about ground crews, but for ground crews we need people in the hold. So how are we going to get people into thehold without letting the high council, that was set up after the last pass, know what we are doing?" Levra asked. Very few people actually met anyone on the high council. The high council met somewhere in the south and was made up of a couple hand picked dragonriders and old holders from the big northern holds. They barely ever stepped in to make a decision, but when they did it was considered being a renegade to go against them. They had decreed that thread was never coming back, so nobody was aloud to think otherwise without being considered a renegade. They were the people that a dragonrider would ask when a dragonrider wanted a cothold. Many people feared and respected them, because nobody was ever seen after they commited a crime against the high council.

Tirlynna frowned. "By getting enough people, quickly, that the high council won't dare touch us. Or...maybe we could pretend we're starting a new crafting center." She had half an idea, but was not sure where it was going.

"What if we got this place approved as a weyr community hold and a community weyr hold by the council, then it would be sanctioned that other riders could live here along with candidates. You could have people apply to the council for "cotholds" on the western continent. That wold sanction your holders and others coming to the hold if you had it as people either coming to work on a cothold or people coming to be holders on a cothold," Levra said, thinking hard. This idea had suddenly bloomed when Tirlynna had said new crafting center.

Tirlynna grinned. "Could work..." A pause. "How about I talk to my brother...don't worry, I'll give you all the credit, but I'm likely to see him before you are."
C'lyn always found time for her...even if half of it was trying to turn her into a potential queenrider.

Levra didn't smile but she did say, "You probably would be the better person to talk to C'lyn. I might never get a chance unless I impress." LEvra didn't think of herself as that high up. C'lyn would probably have better things to do than talk to her.

Tirlynna considered. "C'lyn's not...well, he's a decent guy, he's approachable." She just wished he'd leave her alone about the gold. This was important enough to risk that lecture, however.

Darket decided to speak up at this, "If he is approachable, maybe we could go with you to talk to him, then we could all meet him, and we would have you to introduce us." Darket had hoped that he might get to meet the bronze rider and this was the perfect moment.
Levra decided just to go along with her brother, hopefully, whatever he was planning would work.

Tirlynna smiled. "Hey, some of us might get to fly with him some day." Most of them, at some point. If there was Thread...she let that thought tail off into silence.

"Or our dragon might be flown by his," Levra pointed out. She always looked at all points of view. She didn't know what to think about thread, but she hoped for a gold, so and then she might not fly with him.
Darket just nodded, both points made sense to him.
