Tirlynna neither returned the stare nor quailed from it. Avoiding the contest, the girl shrugged. "Good. I've been told I'm crazy for not wanting to be a Weyrwoman. More than once, even."

"Like I have said before, "Crazy is in the mind. Some see you, or me, and see cazy. Or they think crazy. It is one of the reasons I trust no one not to jibe. I never will trust, ever since I met the world around me," Levra said, defiant, sad, and unhappy might be what is used to describe the way Levra looked and felt.

Tirlynna shook her head. "There's plenty of decent people out there. It might be hard to believe some days, but there are."
Not that there weren't total idiots and outright bad people. Had a dragon ever chosen a truly bad person?
It had to have happened. Riders were certainly fallible.

"I have never met decent people outside of my family until I came here. You might have but you don't have being strange to deal with. You don't have people always after you. You havn't seen your family murdered," Levra almost hissed the last part, she hadn't meant to say that, it had just popped out of her mouth, her face could be described as "in anguish", yet it hid this emotion so well that if you didn't know what you were looking at you would see an emotionless person.

But the words had come out anyway. Tirlynna's eyes widened. And then she deliberately reached for Levra. It was an offer, nothing more.
An offer of the hug the other girl so clearly needed but was so unlikely to accept.

Levra had released her pain a little, and the hug was needed, it brought back memories of her family, so kind, so nice. Levra almost broke down here, but with the strongest self will she had eer used she didn't cry for a second, but then she let it out. The catharsis that she had needed so badly she had finally allowed, she had allowed those feelings to flow, she had allowed those feelings to escape. Tomorrow, though she might still feel sad, it would be not as bad for she had released some of it in that badly needed catharsis.

Tirlynna hugged her. She said nothing, because words would almost certainly have broken the moment and denied Levra the release she so badly needed.
