Tirlynna winced. "C'lyn had better take Kilith out of the Weyr when my dragon flies."
It was done, often, if the riders were closely related. It was difficult to prevent a male from chasing...but it could be done.

A hint of a smile actually touched Levra's face as she said, "Yes you might definatly want your brother's dragon out of the weyr when your dragon flies."
Darket didn't say anything but he did wonder if his sister was subtly being mean. He would wait and see before intervening.

Tirlynna laughed. "I may not be the only one with that problem..." She was subtly hinting back at the possibility that Levra and Darket could well Impress dragons of opposite gender. "In fact, I know I won't be, it's an issue a lot of weyrfolk have to face."

"You actually think that I will impress?" Darket asked before Levra could say anything. He didn't actually believe that he would impress this time. He thought of himself as too young and unready for it.
Levra gave her brother a funny look and said, "Of course you will impress, your my brother." She didn't say anything about the hint on other people being siblings.

Tirlynna considered. "Who knows...nobody, but the dragons in those eggs. But there's going to be other clutches, too."

Darket turned to his sister and said, "I don't believe that I am worthy of a dragon, so why would a dragon choose me, Tirlynna is right anywise, only the dragons in the eggs know who they will choose." After this, Darket gave a huge smile, as if to make his comment be silly.

Tirlynna shook her head. "If a dragon likes you, you're worthy. They know what they're doing." She trusted Kilith, that was for sure.
She would trust her own dragon more.

"A dragon knows what it is doing but does the human know?" Darket asked, arguing everything for the sake of arguing.
For once it was Levra that was the leval headed one. She rolled her eyes and said, "Darket, enough, please. Does it matter?" Her question was a rhetorical question, not to be answered.

Tirlynna shrugged. "You'll learn. We'll all have things to learn. *I* sure don't know everything a rider needs to know yet."

"I guess. Have you ever stood at a hatching before?" Darket said, giving up and changing the subject. It was no use to argue against girls, it was better just to give in.

Tirlynna shook her head. "No, this is going to be my first time. So, no big deal if I don't Impress."
They were going to have two golds. No reason why the second wouldn't be fertile. Waiting another turn or so? No big deal.

Darket laughed and said, "I think it is a first for most of the people here. I think also though that most people don't care if they impress or if they don't impress."
Levra hated how her brother always sounded older than he was, but that was probably because of the life that they had lived before coming here.

Tirlynna shrugged. "You *should* care. Then again, dragons sometimes pick people who aren't even Standing. Not so much recently, but there's record of it."

"I think it would be cool to just be sitting in the stands and then suddenly out of nowhere comes this little dragonet," Darket said, his face alight with the thought of a touch of adventure.
Levra just rolled her eyes. Sometimes her brother just wanted to be the center of attention and would remind you that he was only twelve after all.

Tirlynna grinned. "Yeah, but sometimes it happens to somebody who doesn't *want* a dragon and they have to drop their entire lives."
She wanted one...but...should everyone?
